In this video I'll show you random, yet interesting geography facts that you need to know and that could impress your teacher and make you sound smart. Facts about flags, population (people), countries, climate, culture, records and even life in various countries worldwide.

Some things i have to clear:
1) France actually has the most timezones, with 13.
2) Java island is in Indonesia, not in Malaysia as i said in the video.
3) Besides Nepal, some other non-rectagle flags are the flag of Switzerland and Vatican City. I should've used non-quadrilateral, but i thought of saying it in an easier way.
4) Greenland is a part of Denmark.
This video was made in November. Since November I've improved my geography skills.
One thing I found, France has the most timezones with their overseas territories.
a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square, so you are still correct :)
It’s a common misconception to think Death Valley had the highest tempature, when it was actually the lut desert in Iran, with around 70 degrees Celsius
pink is the rarest color with it being only on flag of Spain

1) The Island of Java is in Indonesia, not in Malaysia.
2) Greenland is not actually a country, it is an overseas territory of Denmark.

4) Actually, the Philippines has around 7,640 islands.
5) Indonesia has a flag that is wider than Monaco's.
6) You put the dot on Libya, not Tunisia.

6:00 my way of seeing which flag is which is this, in poland it snows so snow is on top since it falls down, indonesia and monaco is by the coast and has alot of foam from water rushing in so white at the bottom, then i just see the size of the flag to determine which is indonesia and which one is monaco

I tell indonesia and monaco apart by looking at which ones darker. Monaco is slighty darker.

My favourite:
France's longest land border is with Brazil.
Canada has land borders with 2 countries. USA (which is the longest land border in the world) and Denmark on Hans Island, which is the 3rd shortest land border)
50% of Canadians live below the 49th parallel (the big long straight land border between Canada and the USA)
The southernmost point in Canada is Middle Island in Lake Erie. More Americans live north of this point, that people who live in Canada.

Here in Brazil, I think the life expectancy is 89 years. My grand grandmother is the oldest of our family, with 94 years.

In Nigeria the life expectancy is 53years but my grandfather lived for 104years

Some more facts:
In Japan, earthquakes are the most common. In Japan, 4 tectonic plates border each other.
You probably already know this, but in the US, tornadoes are the most common.

The Omani national emblem does contain a khanjar (knife) and two swords.. So, yea, they do contain firearms
Another interesting one is Uzbekistan and Lichtenstein are the only double landlocked countries in the world. A double landlocked county is a landlocked country who is only bordered by other landlocked countries.

Actually, In antartica, a city called Vostok station which recorded the lowest temperature (-89.2C) in 21 July 1983 has been recorded the coldest temperature in whole world followed by Orkohstok in 22 Dec

Just FYI - Wellington, NZ is in the North Island. Your "dot" made it look like Christchurch on the South Island. Wellington is also the windiest capital city in the world given it's proximity to the Cooks Strait!

Nepal isn’t the only flag that isn’t rectangular. Switzerland is a square.

Yes, California has a larger population than Canada, which is more than 20 times larger in area. Japan's land area is ~10% smaller than California. yet has more than 3 times the population of California or Canada. However, most of Canada's land area is VERY cold. Over 80% of Canadian's live in metropolitan areas near its southern border with the United States.
The newest flag is the Honduran flag.
Nepal is not the only country without a rectangle shape also Vatican city and Switzerland both have a square shape which is NOT a rectangle.
Mistakes:
1) Nepal is not the only country that does not have a square flag. Switzerland and Vatican City also have non rectangular shaped flags!
2) Azores is part of Europe!

1) I like how in 4 ur saying Greenland is not a country but in 5 u say Greenland's a country. No, Copenhagen is not the northernmost capital in the world.
2) Papua new guinea does have +840 languages, most of them are dialects tho. Give it a google
3) The 71*C was never confirmed though, if you look on wikipedia there's a 91C claim too... So I just took the most official claim.
4) London to Sydney doesn't have a direct flight, so New York to Singapore is the biggest direct flight.
5) The rest are explained in the pinned comment, and idk what you mean with the last 2 facts, i haven't included them in the video..

Greenland is a territory owned by Denmark, making it the largest territory in the world by area. Also, if I may add, the Philippines officially has 7,107 islands, not 7,500+

That's not as visible as the one i mentioned. And if i'm right, that was changed in 2020, while the one in the video was in 2021.

Switzerland (219 per km^2) has a HUGE density, compared to Mongolia (2.14km^2), same goes to Vatican city cause it's less than 1 km (2273 / km^2). Mongolia is actually 2nd, but I wouldn't count Greenland cuz of obvious reasons.

You made a mistake at 4:29 . Its a common mistake to think that Death Valley had the highest tempature ever recorded, but it was actually the lut desert, (located in Iran), that had the highest tempature ever recorded.
