  • This is Sri Sadhguru Sai Siddha Ashram - which is a Shirdi Sai temple on the Bangalore-Mangalore highway. Located at about 130 kilometers from Central Bangalore, this beautiful temple can be reached in about 3 hours by car on an early morning drive from Bangalore. This temple was inaugurated on 19th July 2016. This temple is administered by Sai Samasthana Trust which is headed by Sri Gurumurthy Guruji. The Guruji has undertaken penance in the Himalayas, and his spiritual master is none other than Mahavataar Baaba-ji. Education for poor, Nitya Annadaana, old age homes, and orphanages are the social causes which are passionately promoted by the trust. This temple complex - spread over a couple of acres of land - has several unique features. The entrance-to-the-temple is modeled like a cave in a large rock on which the idol of baba in sitting posture is seen. This magnanimous 32 feet tall idol is clearly visible from the high way even if one were driving at high speeds. The man-made rock-cave is bracketed by a short strip of well-maintained lawn that houses some nice flowering plants. After entering the cave, and walking through it for about 30 feet, we reach the portal of the sanctum. The sanctum is a large hall which is about 50 feet by 30 feet in dimension. Vaulted-tile-roofing provides the cover. At the apex of the hall is a podium on which is installed a very divine and beautiful marble idol of baba, which is 7 feet tall. There is also a brass idol of baba in the podium. There is spacious pathway around baba for devotees to circumnavigate comfortably. I have no words to explain the positive energy that I felt inside myself when I stood before Baba for a few moments. I instantly felt at peace, and all stress vanished completely. Here is Sai in all joy and happiness, waiting to bless his devotees, and free them of all their worries. After filling my heart with the divine darshan of baba we proceed to the shrine of Lord Dattatraya. We exit the sanctum of baba’s temple and walk through stone patio covered by beautiful flowering creepers. The other end of the stone patio opens up to the shrine of Lord Dattatraya which houses a very beautiful marble idol. The Lord Dattatraya is present under a divine fig tree. Adjacent to the fig tree there is also a divine idol of udbhava anjaneya Swamy. It is said that when the place was being dug up a small black rock was discovered with the anjaneya murti already on it. This shrine of hanuman also houses a very beautifully formed brass idol. When we circumnavigate Hanuman we come across a water-filled-vat. In it there are three special floating stones. Stones floating on water! … Yes you heard right! These floating stones are similar to the ones that Nal and Neel used to build the Rama Sethu during Ramayana era. Next, we proceed to the shrines of Shanidev, Raahu and Ketu. The shrine of Shanidev is modeled after His great temple at Shingnapur. Devotees can perform tailabeshaka with their own hands to the Shanidev shila after paying a prescribed fee. Adjacent to the shrine of Shanidev temple is the shrine of Raahu and Ketu. The temple complex is set amidst groves of coconut and plantain. The surroundings drench our sense with peace and harmony. An un-rushed tour of this temple complex takes about 30 minutes. I urge you to visit this temple to admire its novelty, and feel baba’s loving embrace for your own self. Thank you very much. Om Sai Ram!
