What do you mean by well trained soldier?? If he was a well trained soldier, he will not be at a court martial. The video I saw clearly shows the height of indiscipline. 1. He abandoned his duty post 2. refused the order to disarm from a General officer 3. Unauthorized use of his rifle leading to the misfire of multiple rounds. Joining the military is a special calling for people that understand the rule of chain of command. If you want to discuss rights then remain a civilian.

Then coming to indiscipline and other things you listed, just show me one upright military Officer, then I will tell the offences he is committing on daily basis. As far as I am concerned, none of them has the right to pass any judgement but as usual Nigeria will always be Nigeria, where the poor will be oppressed by the elites. It's a pity.

2. The officer is wearing facing cap not military cap and his face covered.
Accused person was not giving a fair hearing as he has spend over 6 years in detention.
More over at this time the accused person needs Physchatric doctor to examine him, and if he's to be giving fair hearing, his counsel would have apply for that.
Then trial will continue at the end of doctors report.
How ever Allah made it easier for him through his wife , brekete family and good numbers of people across Nigeria to now his where about , freedom as well raised funds for him to continue his life.

By waiting for six years before the Judgement connotes victimization of the officer. What a biased Judgement. Surely hundreds of such cases are still pending while suspects are languishing in their cells. This is not humane.
