Lol In 1908 the model T was 850 bucks and the ford Workers at the time, although they were getting paid decent for the time, were getting 26 cents an hour. And no they weren't buying no Model T's.
@@pw1187 That was 1908. A plasma TV in 2002 cost $10,000. As more purchased the product prices came down. As production got ramped up in early automotive days , the cars came down in price. Ford made it a goal to keep the cars affordable for the working class. His employees included.
They destroyed Peugeot, Opel, Fiat and Citroen reputation with the "pure"tech engine. These days we have micro engines that might or might not disolve the timing belt. Thank you Stellantis.
@@Jorge-Fernandez-Lopez That's what happens when running the timing belt in oil. Stellantis has stupid management. People have to keep up with their timing belt changes, have more frequent oil changes, it's the gasoline in the oil that is deteriorating the belt.
I agree electric vehicles are definitely NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME. But self driving cars idea is even dumber and far more dangerous. They say you can't fix stupid and it gets proven everyday!
I don’t know about that it’s the dealerships that need to be eliminated! I just saw a 2024 Raptor R Ain simi valley with 90,000 market adjustment over the 100,000 MSRP! My question is why? Why do we need dealerships ?
The last new car I bought was a 2018 VW Jetta. Now it’s at 99,910 miles, so far so good. Vehicle was fully loaded, leather seats, rear camera, with 6 year or 72k mile warranty. I paid 18k brand new!
I had considered Jeep Gladiator base model when it first came out to replace my aging old skool Ranger because it was the only trk still with base model manual for $24k. Luckily. they didn't have any available. My old Ranger is still running just fine.
If that happens china will eat our lunch; no doubt about it but: “is it a lunch worth eating?” , that is the gamble. If EVs turn out to be the real deal the USA will have effectively closed itself out of a market and making their auto industry obsolete. USA SHOULD go all in on hybrid, imho
@boyruns i would welcome EVs if they could finally develop the solid state battery and stop using lithium and cobalt eo we would stop tearing up the earth for materials for the batteries to save the earth. The batteries are the issue with me, not the EVs themselves. We can not produce enough copper to go all electric whichever way they want to do it.
Chrysler used to be a good company when they produced good reasonable pricedcars in the 60's and 70's Also good Chargers, Road Runners, Darts, Super Bees,Challengers and other Muscle Cars . All new vehicles are way overpriced.
Just because he is saying what you want to hear, he is real and a down to earth man? smh He was once a very good mechanic. Now he is just another talking head with an audience.
Scotty, Stellantis are pulling out of the UK over 1,000 people are losing their jobs at the Vauxhall plant in Luton UK as Vauxhall/ Opel are also part of the Stellantis group ( formally GM)
Yes cars and trucks need to be affordable. Asking prices are way to high for new and used vehicles. People are not made of money. New and Used Car Dealers are to greedy for money!!!
I love my 2012 compass with manual tranny, but the rear subframe collapsed, luckily it happened in a parking lot, replaced it backyard style, with all the rear control arm. Now front cradle rusted out, will replace that. My love affair with jeep might be over. Rocks in Stellantis stocking this year.
We aren't forced into them now. We can still a buy a new gas guzzler that couldn't pass mileage requirements per gallon of gas 40 years ago, let alone today.
No one will buy electric vehicles as they don’t really exist, they are battery vehicles,an electric vehicle is something like a tram or electric train that takes power from electric cables and does not have a battery
@@JessicaJones2001-o7t instead of a gas motor an electric vehicle, tram or train use an electric motor, it doesn't matter how or where the electric motor gets its power they are still all electric vehicles.
@@JessicaJones2001-o7t True. Electric vehicles draw their energy for charging their batteries from other energy sources. What makes the real difference is where that energy comes from to charge their batteries. Short-sighted people think that this energy comes from only one energy source.
I see these videos where a guy walks around car lots and shows you the sticker prices. Some are listed for 72 grands but has an 8 grand discount which brings it down to 64 grand. Still unaffordable but less unaffordable than 72 grand. Makes no sense., Go from unaffordable to less unaffordable.
Sergio WAY Overpriced the Gladiator...it was priced as a 'full size' truck with the functionality of a midsize... maniacal from the outset. Who'd ever thought they'd need to cut production to meet abysmal demand for an over priced mid size truck?
Correct. It’s headquartered in the Netherlands, has Europeans in most senior board positions and it’s largest shareholder, Exor, is a Dutch financial institution.
The $19 lease is apparently still open. What can get you is: "Lessee may be responsible for additional charges at end of lease term based upon the difference between the residual value and its realized value." It also doesn't state the length of the lease. It could be something as silly as a 1 year lease with a $20,000 residual value.
I work for a traffic control company, and we have a fleet of over 5000 pickup trucks. The newest 250 trucks are 4 door dodge 1500 with short beds. Brand new 2024s less then 10 000 miles and 3 are at brown daub dodge with major repairs. No accidents trucks just suck now. From 2011 to 2019 we had f150s, 2020 we got dodge 1500 classics, now these 4 door dumpsters.
Gov Newsom, CA, the other day said that only EV trucks will be sold in California in 2035! But who’s a dictator and why let the market determine what is sold? JMHO…
I have two Lexus GX 470s. A 2005 and a 2007. Bought them both used. Unbelievably reliable and look better than a brand new SUV from most car makers. Consumer reports rates a used Lexus as the most reliable vehicle in the world.
They’ll just sell the old cars to the Balkan Countries, they love old VW’s, Mercs and Audis there. When I was in Bosnia years ago, every car seemed like it was an old VW.
I got a brand new 2015 dodge charger. and everyone with them will find out we were ripped off the car's today are throw away car's. because they want us with nothing and still be happy.
@@conniedeniseboswell2948 in the 70’s I had a 1976 eldorado a 1976 ford econoline and a 1978 Riviera. ALL 3 incredible pieces of junk and NONE of them even sniffed 100k. On the other hand my 2015 cx5 has 150 k and runs perfectly. You’re living in a fantasy world
@astroboy5137 He's talking about the World Economic Forums plan to eliminate cars and other necessities as part of a global conspiracy to enslave humanity under the guise of climate by 2030.
Isn't that just a travesty? 50+ years ago, Dad worked at Saginaw Steering Gear Division, now defunct. He and mom were raising me and my sister, the last of 5 kids on HIS WAGE ALONE. He would go to the "executive board", where various GM models that were driven a few thousand miles by upper management would be posted for sale to the employees. A couple of vehicles I recall were a '68 Pontiac Bonneville and a '71 Olds 98 coupe with a 455 Rocket. Saved like 3 grand on basically a new car. Back then, that was HUGE money. My brothers... Dad walked them in, spoke to the boss and got them hired, did the same.
In 1969, you could graduate high school and get a union job the next day, at GM paying $6 an hour. That's $51 an hour in 2024 money. That's what "free trade" has gotten you.
@@skymningforelsket1302 No. That's what Inflation got you. Your government stole those wages from you by invisibly raising all the prices around you and told you it was "greedy corporations".
Instead of putting technology into a whole car, they need to put it into a device that current gas vehicles can attach to their muffler. It will be like a coffee can filter that will eliminate a large percentage of a missions and you change it out with your car service and everyone Will have to drive around with this filter on their muffler for now would help
A percentage of them had to be EVs within a few years, not that they all had to be EVs by 2026. Gas powered vehicles are still going to be an option, so how is that mandatory? Even gas guzzlers are exempt from mileage requirements decades after these requirements were introduced. Yes, there is a "gas guzzler" tax, but if you can afford the gas, you can afford the tax.
Scotty: NEWS: Two unnamed Nissan executives said the company has "12 to 14 months to survive." Nissan cut more than 9,000 jobs earlier this month, while simultaneously slashing production by nearly 20%. Nissan's operating profit dropped 85% in Q3.
Who cares. Nissans are boofer-mobiles anyway. Nissan buyers are stupid people and think it's the same as a Toyota but at a lower price. Like the morons who buy Hyundais and think it's an "asian car, like a Toyota" LOL
I thought there was some talk about spinning off Nissan to get them out from under the Renault umbrella so they could have some hope of building a reliable car again.
Stellantis is also closing one of it's factories here in the UK. The Vauxhall brand's (sister brand to Opel) van factory at the home of Vauxhall at Luton is being closed down. I fear that Stellantis is not long for this world, and the number of job losses would be huge.
In my years on earth I have witnessed "professional truck drivers" losing in driving a truck as a professional. Some of them will pick a lane left of the correct lane they should be in to avoid the on and off ramp traffic rather than changing lanes as they need to and use the right hand lane. Then, I see some of them over two lanes from the right most lane and just there by themself putting along, I also have seen some of them in the fast left lanes now and then ! Many of them change lanes on the freeways regardless if traffic is really close to them, they just figure the vehicles will slow down or move over for them. Then, I see many more solo trucker accidents, most of them are roll overs, taking an off ramp or on ramp too fast. This is common these days, guaranteed so its my guess that the trucking schools who are teaching these drivers do not train them well enough and do not educate them about how loads will effect handling of a truck and trailer. I'm in a major city and this is the norm ! The state DMV should investigate or send "investigators" to sample how some of the truck driving schools are doing. Plant a few investigators who can be trusted in these schools and see just what they teach, what they don't teach and the quality of their exams and driving testing. My guess the training and educational or schools have relaxed way too much in exchange for a fast payment toward a class 1 truck license. Not everyone is good at it and these schools should prevent those who aren't from passing.
Kind of works both ways, lots of truck drivers who aren’t very bright, but a lot of regular drivers that don’t know anything about driving around heavy trucks. Safety doesn’t seem to be much of a concern in driver education, even though that should be the main objective.
The fact is that Cars and Trucks assembled in the USA from foreign parts. End up costing more. So China can build and sell like Henry Ford because they make all the parts. Such a forgotten simple concept.
Born in 1972. First new vehicle i bought was in 2016. Still have it only 25k miles on it. All other vehicles were used. 5 thousands to 6 thousands i paid 4 used cars and trucks.. . Last 6 yrs for vehicle prices are ridiculous to high. Except ford maverick i was really thinking about buying one. .. Was thinking about new ford ranger when it first came out but back then way to high in price for 2 wheel drive. To sell new vehicles. LOWER THE PRICE. 😊😊
My Avalon can seat six. Sport package but comfy & it can fit 2-3 bodies on the trunk. It’s 2000 and the 3 liter V6 is not impossible to work on. My average cost per year is cheap.

They don't need to know it, in the economic systems we use. They're all based in finance and equity and leveraging credit. What do they need to know about how to build and sell cars? It's all about taking out loans to leverage against other loans. It's why we have the FICO system. It's what its built to incentivize. A good while ago, around the 1970s and 1980s, we decided to both take off guardrails for industry and build walls separating industry from market demands. This is what happens, when we do that. We end up with a relative few very large companies - that really have no idea how to build a product. They're on-paper successful, but they're paper tigers. They're only really good at shifting money around (and considering finance - fairly imaginary money). Stellantis is kinda case in point. They've collected a bunch of car companies - and systematically run them all into the ground. In a sane economic environment - Stellantis would go out of business for doing that. We don't live in a world governed by sane economic principles. We favored finance and business management's common "logic," for the way the world should work. And again - this is what we have to show for the ever-more economizing of industry and listening to people who can't really keep a business afloat without drowning it in credits.
@@JP-gi7dw "yup.. and how many times did you VOTE for gangsters to be your masters then BEG for CHANGE, or cry like a little baby about the STUPID prizes?? " - Never. Unlike many, I do not let my emotions dictate who I vote for. I research the candidates before I vote for a candidate. It's not about party with me. It is all about the candidates and which ones will best address the issues that will impact us all. I am not stupid enough to think that the candidate that would best serve my interests is in the best interest of everyone else. Are you suggesting that you are now suffering remorse for the candidates that you have voted for?
@georgenovotny4421 yeah, but what's better? Toyota has issues now with new 4 Runner, the Ford bronco is horrible, Range Rovers will not even pull out of the driveway.
You must mean the Toyota Hilux Champ. It's meant for the Far East and/or developing nations. It's also butt-ugly, I don't think that design would go over well in N. America.
Stellantis have announced this week in Europe they are closing 1 of the vauxhall plants in England. In Europe as well as the electric 500 theirs also several electric Abarth 500s . They do look great compared to the normal electric 500.
I'm driving a 96 Camry with 158k miles on it but if I could get an electric car for $19 a month I would drive the heck out of it while working on restoring the Camry since I wouldn't be driving it every day when it's done park or sell the electric
Had jeep in 1980-2000. Got tired of bumpy ride. Bought an old 2008 Audi hatchback. Hate the turbo! Looking for a used car. I don't want new. Hate all the electronics, tracking.
Scottie! Stellantis is already having MAJOR parts issues across the country. 2-3 month wait for fenders and hoods on some models. Time to sell the ram, dodge, jeep and Chrysler brands!!!
We once went to a fair and as I was checking out a Runicon when a dealer rep came over to try and sell it to me. 10,000 off on a 90 grand care. I told her I drive a Toyota 4 runner trail. She wanted me to trade it in. I laughed at her and kept on walking 🤣🤣🤣👏🏼🤣
On average americans option for higher trim models and say its only this much more per month. Like paying for your kids college to comeout not knowing if their a male or female anymore.
A person used to be able to buy a fully loaded vehicle for around 30K until we get back to that or close to that new cars just will not sell...my friends Truck payment is more than my Mortgage payment no way many people can afford both a new car and home payment

In conclusion, the Waymo rides were waymo expensive!
Trucking driving school’s give very little of driving more of get you to pass the CDL test.
BWA HA investigators you can trust-money talks in America,no wait- IT YELLS
Kind of works both ways, lots of truck drivers who aren’t very bright, but a lot of regular drivers that don’t know anything about driving around heavy trucks. Safety doesn’t seem to be much of a concern in driver education, even though that should be the main objective.
