Lol, people think Nate's heavier because his body all the weight is up top, but look at his legs compared to Conor... and Conor just has stamina issues that are mental, he seems to go fine for 1.5 rounds under a calm pace but when the pressure builds and Conor doesn't get his way and it becomes competitive that's when he starts to fade out, this time he was able to find spots to rest and recover.

Yea I watched it multiple times and when he was fresh those slips were on point in rounds 1 and half of 2 amazing fighter but by watching it again I see the fight was closer than I thought Conor obviously won round 1 and 4 while Nate clearly won 3 and 5 but 2 seems sketchy but I had to give it to Conor because of the knockdown and counters

Man there are some stupid fans in this sport. People look at how strong a fighter's last minute of a round is to determine the whole round. Conor clearly dominated round 1 and 2 (Diaz knocked down twice, Conor never got wobbled but the so-called "stupid" fans saw the high-volume weak punches from Nate and were amazed even though it didnt do shit). He then went on to win round 4. It's all clear.
But it's human psychology to think that the guy who finished strong won the round. If you swap the first 2.5 mins with the last 2.5 mins, then it easily goes to Conor. When judging a round you must cut your emotions. Conor won the exchanges most of that round and knocked Diaz down twice. Nate set himself up for a successful Round 3 with the end of Round 2. Conor then tried to Survive round 5 knowing he won 3 rounds (Nate won round 5)
The point is Nate almost ended Conor. Those punches that dropped Nate 3 times he was in no danger, and wasn't rocked. He was perfectly fine. One of the knockdowns hit his shoulder. When Conor went back to his corner he was wobbly and all over the place. That's the difference right there.

I just watched Diaz post fight interview & presser, & then I watched this one. I love Diaz, he's who got me liking MMA, but McGregor is humble in defeat & in victory. No excuses for his loss, and praise for his opponent in victory. Very respectful, & that's how a person gets my respect, by having some yourself. Greatness is within McGregor.

This was a wonderful fight. I was on my feet the entire time screaming at my TV! Conor and Nate are my favorite fighters in the UFC. They both showed such great heart and truly gave it their all. I was arguing about this fight with my friend who was going for Diaz. Even he had Conor winning at the end before the decision was out. The one thing he said was that Conor was "running" which is a bit contrevesial. I thing that Conor just wasn't trying to be pressed against the cage and planned to create space in order to reset his striking approach. You can criticize that and say he ran but how about the fact that every time Diaz got popped too hard he would go for the clinch. Diaz is hypocritical, he wants u to brawl and come forward but once you pop him good he presses u on the cage.
Conor showed us that he really has a warrior's heart. He still has to work on his cardio if he's going to keep taking fights like this. The fact that he worked a lot to improve his ground game will only help him in the future even though they didn't do ground fighting in this match until the very end and Conor was exhausted. I saw that he was fighting intelligently right from the beginning, very strategically. That's tough to do when the pressure is put on, but by neutralizing that leg quickly he could reduce Diaz's capacity for pressure. It payed off, and allowed him to recover throughout the fight.
What I noticed is that Connor won every distant fight he landed most hits, in every close ranged fight and clinch battles Nate won, Connor won in takedowns and knockdowns, Connor was never knocked down, he was taken down 1 time, in medium ranged he won every fight, but he lost every close quarter fight you could say, if we're speaking of points then Connor clearly won, it was quite even but he was slightly ahead, Nate Diaz took most of his shots and didn't even try to counter them until later he just wanted to show Connor how tough he is.

Yea I watched it multiple times and when he was fresh those slips were on point in rounds 1 and half of 2 amazing fighter but by watching it again I see the fight was closer than I thought Conor obviously won round 1 and 4 while Nate clearly won 3 and 5 but 2 seems sketchy but I had to give it to Conor because of the knockdown and counters

Man there are some stupid fans in this sport. People look at how strong a fighter's last minute of a round is to determine the whole round. Conor clearly dominated round 1 and 2 (Diaz knocked down twice, Conor never got wobbled but the so-called "stupid" fans saw the high-volume weak punches from Nate and were amazed even though it didnt do shit). He then went on to win round 4. It's all clear.
Yea and Nate actually did drop twice in the first few minutes. What happens in the last minute doesn't override what happened in the first 4 mins...
But it's human psychology to think that the guy who finished strong won the round. If you swap the first 2.5 mins with the last 2.5 mins, then it easily goes to Conor. When judging a round you must cut your emotions. Conor won the exchanges most of that round and knocked Diaz down twice. Nate set himself up for a successful Round 3 with the end of Round 2. Conor then tried to Survive round 5 knowing he won 3 rounds (Nate won round 5)
The point is Nate almost ended Conor. Those punches that dropped Nate 3 times he was in no danger, and wasn't rocked. He was perfectly fine. One of the knockdowns hit his shoulder. When Conor went back to his corner he was wobbly and all over the place. That's the difference right there.

This was a wonderful fight. I was on my feet the entire time screaming at my TV! Conor and Nate are my favorite fighters in the UFC. They both showed such great heart and truly gave it their all. It went from hate to respect at the end. I loved it. Much respect to Nate today, he also did a great job.. Conor the King is back! I am so happy!

I was arguing about this fight with my friend who was going for Diaz. Even he had Conor winning at the end before the decision was out. The one thing he said was that Conor was "running" which is a bit contrevesial. I thing that Conor just wasn't trying to be pressed against the cage and planned to create space in order to reset his striking approach. You can criticize that and say he ran but how about the fact that every time Diaz got popped too hard he would go for the clinch. Diaz is hypocritical, he wants u to brawl and come forward but once you pop him good he presses u on the cage.
Conor showed us that he really has a warrior's heart. He still has to work on his cardio if he's going to keep taking fights like this. The fact that he worked a lot to improve his ground game will only help him in the future even though they didn't do ground fighting in this match until the very end and Conor was exhausted. I really enjoyed the fight. Didn't think it would go 5 rounds and I expected Nate to win. Well done, Conor.

What a great response Conor had to the goofy accusation of "running" If you go back and count the seconds that McGregor was "running" it's less than 30 seconds. That's less than 30 seconds out of 1500 seconds.

I saw that he was fighting intelligently right from the beginning, very strategically. That's tough to do when the pressure is put on, but by neutralizing that leg quickly he could reduce Diaz's capacity for pressure. It payed off, and allowed him to recover throughout the fight.
What I noticed is that Connor won every distant fight he landed most hits, in every close ranged fight and clinch battles Nate won, Connor won in takedowns and knockdowns, Connor was never knocked down, he was taken down 1 time, in medium ranged he won every fight, but he lost every close quarter fight you could say, if we're speaking of points then Connor clearly won, it was quite even but he was slightly ahead, Nate Diaz took most of his shots and didn't even try to counter them until later he just wanted to show Connor how tough he is.
