1939 John Deere A Part 3 - Fan Shaft Conversion - Restoration Series

Taking apart the old fan shaft and another friction style for converting it. Hopefully ordering parts soon to get it back together. Fan shaft spacer part number is B2129R.

Update on my tractor, i know its been a while, but my engine is free, but my 2 intake valves are not. I was rolling the engine over to complete all of its strokes and i heard a snap, I broke one of my tappets. So ive been waiting for parts, and while ive been doing that, ive been working on the battery box fixing a rust hole in it. As well as taking apart the steering coloum, cause thats froze up too.

Did you ever find out about the spacer? Im dealing with this at the moment. Mine was inside the housing but not on the shaft where yours was. i cant get mine back together because of the spacer.

Yes, I ordered the spacer. I've been waiting to get a new fan from someone to replace the old style. I'll hopefully get it back together in the next few weeks. The spacer is supposed to be a tight collar on the shaft. You think yours had something else?
