  • In this video we show you what to expect when receiving our living material filled with red wiggler Esienia andrei.
The material is wet so they are placed in smaller boxes and then placed inside a larger box. This is so the smaller boxes will soak up some of the moisture so as not to destroy the outter box. Due to the moisture in the material the boxes may arrive in less than attractive looks. Rest assured the worms are fine and you will love what is inside!! Just open and put into a bin no need to have anything already in the bin as the worms come with thier very own material!!
The primary difference between Eisenia fetida and Eisenia andrei lies in their physical characteristics and habitat preferences. Both species are commonly used for composting due to their efficiency in breaking down organic material. Here's a detailed comparison:
    Eisenia fetida (Red Wiggler)
    - **Physical Characteristics**: Typically have alternating yellow and red bands, giving them a striped appearance. They may have a more distinct yellowish tail.
    - **Habitat**: Commonly found in decaying vegetation, manure, and compost heaps. They thrive in a wide range of temperatures but prefer moderate to cool environments.
    - **Reproduction**: High reproduction rate, making them highly effective for composting.
    - **Tolerance**: They are more tolerant of variations in environmental conditions, including moisture and temperature changes.
    Eisenia andrei (Red Tiger Worm)
    - **Physical Characteristics**: Generally more uniformly red and lack the distinct yellow bands seen in *Eisenia fetida*. They can have a darker red color.
    - *Habitat**: Also found in similar environments as *Eisenia fetida but may have slightly different preferences for moisture and temperature.
    - **Reproduction**: Similar high reproduction rate, making them effective for composting as well.
    - **Tolerance**: They might be slightly less tolerant of extreme environmental changes compared to *Eisenia fetida*, but still quite adaptable.
    Composting Efficiency
Both species are excellent for vermicomposting due to their ability to consume large amounts of organic material and reproduce rapidly. They help in producing high-quality compost rich in nutrients.
    Practical Use
    - **Selection**: The choice between the two often comes down to availability and specific composting conditions.
    - **Co-habitation**: They can coexist in the same compost bin, contributing to efficient composting processes.
In summary, while both Eisenia fetida and Eisenia andrei are effective composting worms with similar behaviors, they can be distinguished by their physical appearance and slight differences in environmental tolerances.

Eesnia andrei and eesnia Fetida are two different varieties but they looks similar too. Have some differences too

      @MemesWorms  Місяць тому

Correct. The fetida are more stripped and the andrei are more prolific at cocoon laying.

I’m really interested in shipping material that’s less stressful on the worms. I just hate putting happy healthy worms into dry peat moss for shipping 😡.
You say it’s wood chips? Just wood chips? Or is there other substrate as well?
    Thanks for sharing! ❤🪱

@@RockinWorms its very time consuming to harvest them from this material to make lbs as they are very content to stay where they are. Its for this reason they are not sold in lbs.

@@RockinWormsI will say Jane I recieved one of these boxes Wednesday. The worms looked so good, not lethargic, not stressed just ready to go. I sent MEMEs a message that these worms were ready to party right out of the box. I’m going to look into this type of shipping when I get to that point of selling worms.
