Once I hit 250 stops by 6 pm they let me do whatever I want. Come in late, take days off, I even crashed the gate in front and got everyone stuck for half hour. They can’t afford to lose me tho. Especially when peak comes back

@@Randywithups2 how are u? I retired in 2013, 35 yrs. at age 55, but I was clerical. Do they still allow early retirement at 55? I remember how they regretted that decision back in the early 2000s because the teamsters were going to cut the payments in half, so UPS had to pick up the difference. So, they voted to turn it back over to UPS in 2007. She also said that retirement was going to end in 2025 for union workers. I know it has ended for non-union workers around 2017 and replaced with 401K match.

As somebody who moved to the United States from The Netherlands.. this isn't that great. I was in the military for 10 years and had 8 weeks of vacation. Everyone in The Netherlands receives a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation and goes up from there. I really wish we would work on getting better medical and vacation days here in the US. We're the greatest nation on earth but in so many aspects we're decades behind the rest of the first world.
The United States has no federal law that mandates paid vacation for employees of any company. You’re at the mercy of most employers. If they want to give you vacation time, they most certainly will. If they don’t want to offer paid time off, you gotta look for another job. I used to work at a big grocery store chain called “Stop and Shop.” It was a union job (barely over minimum wage) but you had no paid time off whatsoever for your entire first year. You get 20 hours of paid vacation after one year which is one week. After three years you get 40 hours of vacation (two weeks). It increases more with seniority.
Local 710 is 7 at 25, 8 weeks total vacation at 30 years. At 20 we get 6 weeks 4 optional holidays, we can split 1 week up into segmented vacation days. Our vacations are paid at 50 hours. Also our 22.4's (our 25.13's) get the same plus they get 8 hour request and 9.5 protections same as a RPCD. If you did not know 710 and 705 are NOT part of the national and both have individual contracts with Ups in Chicago(705) and (710) is the rest of Illinois,Southern and Northern Indiana and part of Iowa.
Ur vids are cool I’m from Texas 4 years in. California gets 3rd week vacation on they’re third year their supplements are better. Union needs to push for us in the southern region

Hey Randy, I have a few questions. When you became a driver, did you get sent to integrad facility? Any advice on learning the 5 seeing habits or the 10 point commentary? Thanks
It really depends on where you’re at. I got hired as a driver once Covid was over and did the same online integrad they did when Covid was a big deal. I was told by one of the instructors that the ones going to his facility had to be able to recite them day one. My facility didn’t have me recite a single word of any of it. I had my 30 days of packet and my sup went over the 5’s and 10s and would imply them vocally as he was driving. Study them hard no matter what, once you’re in and get past that, you will never need to know them again from my experience. Just do your job, keep your lytx numbers down. Every driver has their own methods from what they are taught. As long as your base is hard work and being safe, you will have a great career.
