Quick suggestion. I think the captain needs a quick way to get in and out of the bridge. Like a metal door where the technic brick is (right side) or a ladder and a door in front of the bridge instead of one of the windows. Either way the build looks awesome so far!
Awesome video as always! Thanks! In real life, the sloped windows reduce reflection inside, so you can see out more at night, so slopes to the front would be useful! However, I like the look, it's a unique build, so I'd leave it.
Yeah, I'm sure realism may suffer but I was largely going for a different look to my other ships, for diversity. Looking forward to finishing this one!
Fantastic MOC Robin! I think it's magnificent. I think you should try the City seaways stickers and just see what it looks like. Or.. instead put it on a 1x4 tile and replace the transport tile with the city seaways logo. I really love the wheel house but I feel that the captain needs more of a view ahead of him as well. I suggest maybe getting another one of those ship window pieces like you used on the sides. You would have to modify the roof a little bit unfortunately plus it would protrude forward giving the front of the bridge of the ship some different angles than being a flat front. I can't wait to see the rest of this build. Your videos always spark some creative juices to flow. Great video my friend, keep up the fantastic work.
GREAT idea for a MOC build Robin! I also remember that old school 4030 ship from my childhood - what a great thing it was in it's time. So diggin' the nostalgia feels here, but I do very much like the modernization of it. I personally would include the Seaways stickers myself. Can't wait to see part 2!
I'd say for the radar bits adding a black T piece to one of them for more detail and ships of that size have a white light to indicate their height on the dark for the control cabin
Since the lower floor is already an illusion, maybe take the bottoms off a minifit and push just the top+head onto studs and have that look out one of the windows? Def. add the words!
I think the top of the wheel house needs a bit more red- maybe that top white strip plate as red to get the white details to pop a bit more. I like the out taper of the sides of the wheel house and those white side rails look good. Would sticking a trans blue stud on the inside of those white porthole pieces be noticeable? That could help sell that they have glass in them. I think the limited use of yellow gives the impression of brass and fits well with keeping to some of the feel of the old sets being built with limited colors. Plus it pops really well against the other colors on the ship.
Perhaps you can cut the blue bit off the stickers but on the other hand it is a shame to do that. One small possible amendment is to add an old grey ladder piece towards the top of the wheel house. really cool can't wait for Part 2 and 3
hello Robin 😊 a ship Bild. that blue cargo build look great. I love the Maersk ship there s 2 of them I'm Shaw I still need the Holley grail Maersk train
Love the concept. Would like to see a full height first floor on the wheelhouse. It would give another spot for a minifig and give you more height. When you only did half a first floor, I thought you would stack 2 full floors on top of it. It looks nice having a shorter wheelhouse, because there's not much in the front to back dimension, but if you look at real ships, the wheelhouse are strangely tall, seeming out-of-proportion for how shallow their depth is.
Hay Robin would you be willing to do a short video showing how you store your stickers and printed parts so you can find them when you look? I'm having trouble with this in my collection.
I have a three plastic bags with a cardboard stiffener in them. Small, medium and large. I get them out and have a look through for stickers, haha. No great methodology there. Printed bricks I have in a box with other bits to generate ideas. There's some that have been in there far too long!
Sorry, Robbin, but the wheelhouse isn't quite right. The windows at the front should be bigger. You want to be able to see as much as possible, without blind spots. The sides may even be slightly wider, so that you can see next to the ship itself. And usually the extension of the bridge is open.
nice start to what I foresee being something wonderful. My vote is to have the stickers as is. the blue is a small amount and adds a little more variety. I also do like the way you did the wheelhouse. could you add another one of those inverted windshield pieces to the front as well?
You should remove the navigation lights (red and green) from the rear of the superstructure. You're not supposed to see navigation lights from the back of the vessel, only the white stern lights and the white (and possibly red) mast lights. This is so that in the dark and from afar you'll know where the vessel is facing, having red and green navigation lights facing astern , and in reverse order is just odd and confusing.
Basically you're only supposed to see both the red and green lights when you're facing the ship head on. Meaning if you're in another vessel heading straight for red and green lights, you're in a collision course.
Oh, funny observation with those filled and hollow studs. I wonder why they are different. Do the hollow studs have some additional function? It can't just be that they use, what, a per mill's worth of less plastic?
I think a lot of parts that were solid stud became hollow stud later. They allow more flexibility like allowing a half stud overhang from a brick added above!
Sorry Robin I have to get this off my sea chest. Does the captain Cods wallop have a German first mate called Bill Schitt?? 🤔😊 Oh forgot my proper comment, it's nice to see old sets being revamped and brought back to life.

Yes it's not easy with big glass pieces and twin funnels. That's partially why I added the trapdoor. With more space it'd be a great addition!
Awesome video as always! Thanks! In real life, the sloped windows reduce reflection inside, so you can see out more at night, so slopes to the front would be useful! However, I like the look, it's a unique build, so I'd leave it.

looking forward to this one!
Yes, I was, and still am for Part 2 and the old pieces!
Great job
Thanks, Sam!

Thanks for that food for thought!
Fantastic build well done
And we've not got to all the lovely old pieces yet!
Great start so far and did'nt knew you have so many tattoo's, you look packed and stacked!
Ripped for sure, haha. If only!
nice build on the first part of the ship..it look s great ...
Thanks a lot!
I like the red contrast. Reminds me of the Canadian Steamship Line lake freighters
Yes, better than the original blue!

Great to hear. We are clearly like-minded, haha!
I have that Fireboat from when I was a Child
Very cool. I hope your stickers survived!
Looking awesome 👏

I love the idea of making a nostalgia-based boat. It's looking really good so far!
Oh thank you. Yes, the nostalgia is strong with this one!
possible amendment just to make the tower look a little more scaled, maybe add another deck, to house crew quarters
That'll make it bigger than the City Lines mega-ship, haha!
Since the lower floor is already an illusion, maybe take the bottoms off a minifit and push just the top+head onto studs and have that look out one of the windows? Def. add the words!
I'll add the words. Well we see him through the tiny windows? Maybe I should add someone, or something, scary in there!
Looks great! 😀
Yay, thanks!
I like ship builds and this one is looking awesome. I already want to see part 2 😂.
You and me both. We may have to have some trains in between though!

Just two parts, I think, for this one!
9:40 I believe that red bit is called an engine telegraph, you cant steer the ship with it though
It's the engine speed throttle thingy, in my limited knowledge!
That loks so awesome. We could say the side pices on top of the wheelhouse are antenaes or something
Yeah they just look right somehow, haha!
I think the seaway stickers should look good on the boat!
Oh, and congrats on 25K subs!
Thanks and thanks!
The railing above the captain’s windshield would look better if there’s a front for connecting the 2 sides.
Is it a railing? I'm not even sure. Maybe it's just a thingamajig!
This is a great take on a classic set with a lot more details! Great job! Your MOCs are always inspiring 😊👍
Glad you think so!
hello Robin 😊 a ship Bild. that blue cargo build look great. I love the Maersk ship there s 2 of them I'm Shaw I still need the Holley grail Maersk train
Yeah, shoulda bought that Maersk train myself but I still get shivers about the stickers across assembly on the front. Yuk!
@@RobinHoodBricks oh I'm gessing it's a sticker across two part s .not one full pice.
Yes, and it'll never last!
Great cargo ship very good design. I think the stickers would look great on the ship ❤
Yay, thank you!
The way I was taught is, "there's no RED PORT LEFT" .
Love the classic cargo ship, I have all the floating bots from that era, so cool.
Oh that's all the words in one saying. Nice. Yes, these boats are very special. I have the tiny Tug somewhere. I must add it into the city!

I think the transport stickers fit this ship better than city seaways
I think the vote was pro stickers so far. Oh well!
Love the ship👍. Can you make a cruiser for the ocean, please.
I considered that at one point. I don't have any plans for it at the moment. The next one will be more fun but with a transport theme again!
That ship reminds of that one that's arriving on a port near the beach where I was
Ahhh, cool!
@@RobinHoodBricks I like your mocs
Looking great! I think you should add those stickers on the side of the cabin, I think it could add some interesting details.
Great, thanks!
leave the blue bit on the stickers, it's close enough to the window tint.
Ah, good point!
Sorry, Robbin, but the wheelhouse isn't quite right. The windows at the front should be bigger. You want to be able to see as much as possible, without blind spots. The sides may even be slightly wider, so that you can see next to the ship itself. And usually the extension of the bridge is open.
I'll play around with it but those windows are wide enough for every LEGO ship ever made, haha. I'm not going for realism but a LEGO feel after all!
The red and white strips on the engine stacks kinda remind me of the Danish flag.
Leg godt!
looks, good, but where's the door? :D when I think of cargo ships I think of outdoor staircases leading up to the bridge
Errrm. So seamless you can barely see it!
Stickers addition would be good.
Is there no sterling wheel for the skipper?
I guess you have some of the new sets coming from Lego soon too?
Oops, not yet.
I have a few sets coming. There are too many good ones that would break the bank if bought all together!
nice start to what I foresee being something wonderful. My vote is to have the stickers as is. the blue is a small amount and adds a little more variety. I also do like the way you did the wheelhouse. could you add another one of those inverted windshield pieces to the front as well?
Well I don't have another knocking around, no. Maybe I'll look for another. I agree, something wonderful is in progress!
Name Suggestion: The Ever Bricken and it can be stuck in the channel
Haha, no thank you. I have a sticker with a name for part 2. Good reference though!

@@RobinHoodBricks Oh, I see. Thanks for the info!
Robin Hood with tattoos? Oh my! Ha ha.
From a misspent youth, no doubt!
Sorry Robin I have to get this off my sea chest. Does the captain Cods wallop have a German first mate called Bill Schitt?? 🤔😊
Oh forgot my proper comment, it's nice to see old sets being revamped and brought back to life.
My thoughts exactly. Part 2 will add back the nostalgic original parts. Bill? Maybe!
Could you add a wheel so that the captain can steer the ship?
Yes, this has been pointed out already, haha. I swear official LEGO ships don't have wheels either so I didn't add one but now I feel silly. Doh!
Let s git a part 2 pliz
Yes, new purchases have got in the way, sorry!
Can you make a lego meck like from nexo knights.
I have a mech in my Mech Factory in my harbour. It has a two part video that is very fun. Find it on my Harbour playlist!
When are you gonna do your undersea project
I'm doing the Undersea base at the moment. I'm up to part 3. Next part soon but so much competition, and with new sets arriving any day!
Captain Brick Nottingham
17:10 - Those white-and-red bits are clearly austrian flags!
Maybe the ship was manufactured in Austria? Or is it operated by an austrian company? I'll leave that up to you
Well, given their lack of coastline, I think a company is more likely than its origin. Unless it sailed down the entire Danube of course!
Looks 🤩fine🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
Thanks very much!
how do you make this i would love to make my own moc trains
See my trains playlist. I have a video for every build!
Hello have you the instructions with thé parts need please? Thanks
A wheelhouse without a wheel??
Erm... Hmmm. You've got me!
@@RobinHoodBricks just a thought…
Where can I find the cargo hold pieces?
Part 2374 from BrickLink or maybe eBay. Fairly rare but not impossible to find. Enjoy!
@@RobinHoodBricks thank you
ok but does it float?
Awesome, but he has AWFUL terminology. Eh, no hate though, great job for part one.
Yeah, I know nothing. The stern is the back, right? Haha!
