Maybe a weird concept I have but isn't it better to build heartsteel later in a lot of games? Since you basically build it for q range and stacks are kinda hard to get I'm thinking another item rush might be better as first item for more lane pressure, since heartsteel isn't that cost effective until you get stacks on it

Q range obv scales with stacks

@@crappiefisher13 it scales with max health, which mostly comes from items, so it doesn't really scale hard unless you get free stacks.
Kill gold will scale it harder, so that's why I thought about building it later.

@@Friezje i get over 600 stacks so often on heartsteel. Thats 1500 from one item.
Whatley got over 1200 stacks several times. That's over 2000 health from one item, kench passive and q scale with bonus health, thats why heartsteel is by far the best first item to build on kench. Think about it: even at 0 stacks it does more magic dmg on-hit through passive than wits end first buy.

@@crappiefisher13 that would depend on the game and matchup. For example anathemas, rocket belt or rift maker first could be options that have more potential to kill. I haven't tried it too much yet.
The stack gain scale with bonus health from items, so you probably won't lose many stacks.
Heartsteel does not add much lane value, except if you only are able to trade short trades every 30 seconds this is usually not the case.
The main benefit of heartsteel for tahm is the size not the extra health.
Another great lategame item for tahm is sundered sky. It heals you so much missing hp.
