Emily Steele Because my dad said as a first time driver, automatic is the best and to be honest, manual seems more of a chore. Were the miles good when you got yours ? :)

I also watched loads of fiat 500 videos before getting my own haha, I have the same as you but in epic blue and they're such a great first car!
Wonderfull i had a grey lounge back in 2011 and loved it great city car and a crowd pleaser people loved it all do i found it a tad underpowered even for city i had 1.2 engine i hear the new .9 turbos are much more lively i gave a twingo gt now and i find it to be very lively plus the 5 door option is very practical. Thx for your video lovely color you picked.
I loved my Fiat 500, which I owned for a couple of years. Lots of fun, super cheap to run and the best of the retro style cars available. It always puzzles me why it is almost exclusively a 'girly' car, I'm a 60+ guy and I will get another 500 when my current car expires.

Emily, your radio control buttons are in the back of your steering wheel. You don't need to use the buttons in the radio panel itself. Cheers.

When you say the clutch is temperamental, what do you mean by that? I'm looking at getting one, i've not done much driving since I passed and driving my boyfriend's 57 plate clio had an awful clutch so it's now the thing i get scared about in cars. Sorry for the rant aha
It's hard to explain but it can stall easily and my mum who is an experienced driver admits it is not the easiest car to drive. However once you are used to it and just accept that it stalls easily you'll be fine! xx

I've just put down a deposit on a 2013 beige Fiat, I pick it up Wednesday! All I can find online though is people saying how bad they lose power on hills etc, are they really that bad or are people just kicking up a fuss!

I’ve got the car now! It’s really easy to drive, gears are very short needs 2nd gear almost straight away!
It does struggle on hill starts not so bad when you are already moving, but if you have to stop on an incline you need handbrake and biting point as high as it will go to prevent rolling ☺️ loving it so far though
Amy Hunter I just picked up a 2011 Fiat 500 twinair. Great little car. Only done 22,000 miles so hoping it will last me a while. Agree with short gears. Very responsive though and nippy. Fun to drive.
debbie peter I wanted the twin air engine but wasn’t any for sale in my local area and couldn’t wait any longer haha! Glad I made the choice to get this car though, Just big enough for what I need too!
Amy Hunter I drove out of the area to get mine so know what you mean. But yes, so far so good. Nice little cars. Only time will tell regarding reliability though.

I have a Fiat 500 Lounge in the same colour too :D She's called Trixie, and she's my first car. I love it. I don't know if you know-or if yours has it too-but you can lift up the passenger seat for extra storage :) At least you can in my 2012 model so I imagine it will have it in the newer ones too. So it is great for space.

Never understand why people cover their numberplates? You see thousands of them every day, they're on display on public roads. There's nothing I can do with that information...do people think that their identity will get stolen? haha

LuLauL You can find the model of the car and that's it. For personal information about the owner you have to make a request to the DVLA which they won't fulfil if you're just being nosy.

Dirty Blond I am not sure what country Emily is in but there are some countries that drive on the other side and use cars with steering wheels on the other side. UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and others come to mind.

At least on my old car the fuel pump took longer to pump fuel to the injectors so it wouldn't start right away if you just jumped in and turned the key. When the lights went off and I could hear that the pump was ready it took a split second to start it.
Its more important to wait in diesels as the glow-plugs need time to heat up. Not really that important in petrol engines, but it might just lengthen the life of the fuel pump.
Makes sense, I haven't had the issue with my current car maybe cuz it's a bit newer but with my older vehicle Ill definitely start doing that. Learned something new. Thanks!

Fiat are quite unique, but you are missing out on the real fun of owning a really quirky car.
The really unique ones, are not some mainstream Fiat that so many other people own, they are not hard to come by at any place at all.
Tell you why, that's because the original 500 had the engine in the back, weighs under 600 kilo (wikipedia says 500!) and still, it's so fun to drive.

Hey Holly! Yes I drive on the motorway quite a lot! I recently drove to Manchester and back in a day from my house which took 7 and a half hours. I would defo recommend doing the Pass Plus though as it is so useful!
