It's wonderful seeing them in flight, against the hills of Marin. And those beautiful silhouettes against the coastal sky. I'm going back there next month. Spending quality time between Valley Ford and Point Bonita. A stop at the estuary (where Key Creek flows into Tomales Bay) to say a special prayer for the world.

I was reminded of my beloved mom saying this poem to us when we were kids visiting Key West, Florida, but could not remember the last couple of lines. I grew up in Sarasota in the 60's and our version was a bit different. We substituted 'hellican' for
'how the heck he can'. I am glad someone else remembers this poem fondly also.
