How to Brush Your Dog's Teeth (Petco)

Keeping your dog’s teeth clean and healthy is part of a really good grooming regimen. It also helps prevent disease. If your dog’s never had her teeth brushed before, it’s really important to get her used to it first. Gently rub her gums and cheeks till she’s comfortable. Then we move on to using a washcloth or wrap your finger in some gauze. Then, start gently scrubbing with that until she’s comfortable. This may take a bit of time, but it’ll pay off in the long run. Now that we’ve got her comfortable having her mouth touched, it’s time to move on to actually brushing her teeth using either a toothbrush or a finger brush and dog toothpaste.
Taking the toothbrush, work in a circular motion all the way across, down back into her cheek area where we know that tartar and plaque can build up. Whatever you do, don’t use people toothpaste. It’s really hard on their enamel and they can’t spit it out like you and I can do. And they can get a really upset belly. Once you get done with that, make sure to praise her for a job well done. In between tooth brushing, we’ll want to get her some dental toys, chews, and treats. Those are going to help keep her teeth and gums really healthy. It’s simple. It’s easy. And you can do it at home.

Hi my dog is 6 years old she is a mix of siberian husky and german Sheppard so she have a strong mouth and she really dont want to let me open her mouth i can pet her around the mouth with no problem but i cant open it do you have any tips for me ?
