Brother you have the wrong strategy, you have to pick the avsolute favourites for 3-0. I did it last round mongolz and liquid ez 2. This time ofcourse it’s harder but come on, mongolz and heroic are just throwaway picks
You’re already fucked for the mongolz peak if they lose to g2 which they very well could.
So put Navi for example and if they go through (which they will anyway) with 3-1 you lose 2 picks basically? Since you know Navi is going through but you’ve wasted it on a silly 3-0 pick. Weird take
I put Mongols 3-0 because homefield advantage. Navi is my other 3-0. If Mongols upset G2 they will probably go 3-0.

honestly i went pretty conservative with my elim stage pickems:
3-0: navi, vitality
3-1, 3-2: mongolz, faze, liquid, spirit, mouz, g2
0-3: wildcard, furia
I've got the same, but GamerLegion instead of Mouz.
Though seeing a lot of people with your exact picks. so idk, might go heard mentality and change it,
Navi and Vitality 3-0 is very low probability, they will likely face each other in 2-0 (this isnt going to be the case only if Mongolz beats G2)

I find it interesting to see what analysts choose in pickems because their reasonings are sometimes stuff you would never think about. I never follow other people's pickems but its quite interesting how you think of the teams.
The thing is, pro players usually have a little background because prior to the Major we practice against these teams and we know how strong or weak they seem.
Sadly, I am off the team for few months so I lost this “inside knowledge” but it’s another angle that might be overlooked by community
mongolz have so much talent but i feel they still lack experience at this level re. dealing with pressure etc., not sure if the home region buff will help, and they will also likely play vitality if they are both 2-0. I had to put them in 3-1..
i went with my guts during opening stage, lucky got 6 correct, i put
3-0 Mongolz, Col (thought liquid would choke)
3-1/2: mibr, Liquid, Big, Furia, Pain, VP
0-3: Imperial, RA
My guts for this stage are:
3-0: NAVI Mongolz (are not just strong, also consistent)
3-1/3-2: Mouz, Faze, Spirit, G2, Vitality, Heroic
0-3: Furia and mibr (not neccessarily strong in BO1s, unlike WC)

navi mongolz 3-0 is not possible because navi and mongolz will fight in 1-0 matchup UNLESS some major upset happens elsewhere

Martin, you are making mistake in this pickems like many other people by beliving putting favourites in a 3:1 3:2 pool is a good strategy. Think about it. If Heroic and Mongolz are not going to do a 3:0 you are straight away losing not 2 but propably 4 points. Why? Beacuse you are not going to get points for them + Whatever teams are going to get a 3:0 score, are most likely in your 3:1, 3:2 pool so that means that you are not going to receive points for two of these teams either. You straight away have 4 wrong guesses out of 10 and the elimination stage didn't even start yet (Unless you really believe that Mongolz and Heroic are going to do a 3:0 score) 3:0 picks in this pickem system are the most important picks to make. That's why vast majority of the people that picked Mongolz and Liquid at 3-0 in opening stage got atleast 5 points and others didn't.
But you do get the point, if your 3-1/3-2 pick goes 3-0 no?

STYKO are you aware that the system has changed? this strategy does not work anymore... imagine if two favorites teams go 3-0 and both of yours 3-0 go 3-1 3-2, you would depend to all 4 of the remaining 3-1 3-2 you have to go through and still would need a 0-3. Too risky imo

Do you think you understand pickEm correct? There is no more picks for just "advanced". 6 group team you peak - they should be 3:1 or 3:2. If they advanced with 3:0 - this pick doesnt count. So 3:0 slots should be wasted on best teams, so there is more chances. I dont think heroic is more powerfull than navi/g2/vitality/spirit

You’re using the old strategy of the previous passes. With this new system, you’re throwing away potentially 4 picks if the best teams 3-0 as they should.
Brother heroic is never going to to 3:0 this , which means you will lose a lot of points becouse one of the 3:0 teams have a slot in your advanced place, and heroic might as well advance, but not go 3:0

Being Sceptical about G2, but not with Spirit? They don't deserve the Elimination Stage and they look worse with Donk and Shiro carrying that team.

I think vitality will go 0 - 3 and wildcard will advance to playoffs. You dont have a GamerLegion, Copenhagen Flames, or Apeks pick in your pickems. Be braver

Mongolz 3-0 you heard it here first. 1.5 average team rating in opening stage.
Against Rare Atom, MIBR, and Gamer Legion lol. Between 3 matchups, 4 total games, the total amount of rounds put up against Mongolz was 15 rounds out of a total of 71 rounds played in all 4 matchups combined. You may think thats a testament to their skill level, but it says a lot more about how poorly their opponents were. They are a 3-1/3-2 for sure, a fantastic team, but not a 3-0 team.

Bro you are living in the past, the 3-0s are not gamble picks anymore. If the team you chose for 3-1,3-2 goes for 3-0 instead you lose the pick. So you have to be absolutely sure of the 3-0 teams.

Think you're stuck on the old meta! Now you can't hedge your bets, you have to believe every pick you make. Picking weird 3-0 teams is bold, because if one of your advancing teams go 3-0, you don't get a point for them. If NaVi go 3-0, you won't get a point for example. And I'd say it's highly likely 2 of your advancing teams go 3-0.
I think liquid can do it to the next stage, it's risky but i like their roster and i put them in 3-1. As a G2 fan i put them in 3-0 and since they most likely will fight with spirit for 3-0 spot, i put spirit in 3-1 and navi in 3-0. From all the games i watched i have to say Furia was playing rly shaky, they were throwing a lot of rounds and im not gonna be surprised if they end up with 0-3 score. I hope the Mongolz won't destroy my pick'em from the start :D
Spirit and Faze they are playing very badly. Both will be eliminated.

I love seeing europeans get stuff wrong, it’s my favorite hobby. Top 4, we all know… Navi, G2, VIT and Mouz. Will need to have a miracle for these 4 to not qualify. Mongolz, we love them, we will cheer for them, I would 100% delulu myself into believing they’ll win it all. They’re nice, they’re cute, we stan… No one would complain if they won.
Now listen to me, the other three slots? Up to anyone (except Wildcards. They tried, I’m proud of them for being here. Long live the clowns). Could be Spirit, let’s not hope for s G2 match to end their dreams. I could see Faze 1-3, I SEE 3DMax 0-3. With that being said, MIBR will get at least One series. I’m betting on Insani going insane (badum tzzz). Furia could either go 0-3 or qualify, we dont talk about them, they’re inconsistent as shit. I love KS and Yuurih, Fallen needs to retire, go coach or smth babes.
But euroPAIN?? Clap clap, wake up everyone they didn’t qualify last major bc they were 2-2 agains NAVI of all teams. And if there’s one thing we know is that NAVI IS getting to playoffs, even if its to lose on Quarters. So if a lightning were to strike twice, I wouldn’t believe Heroic do it, I wouldn’t believe Liquid to do it (since Elige left, that team is souless!!!!). I’m betting on my man Biguzera, in the League team we trust. They did magic last Worlds, they’re doing magic this Major.
My top 8 would be G2, Vitality, Mongolz, NAVI, Mouz, Spirit, Pain and Faze (bc somehow and what I mean by SOMEHOW is I genuinely don’t know how, Karrigan will do it).
That being said, idc who’s in playoffs, G2 will win it all. Niko knows it’s his last chance to do it and he’s not abandoning his step son without one major trophy.

Every other famous youtuber which released his pick ems got 3-0 Navi and Vitality or Navi / G2, how do you come to Heroic and Mongolz? I could understand Mongolz a bit, but if Navi is winning against Liquid what they will obviously do, they will play against Mongolz and i dont see Mongolz beating them. They would beat G2 and Navi in a row.
Same goes for Heroic, the point i couldnt really understand.

Then they have to beat Spirit - should be obvious, but if they would still win against them, they would play against Vitality.

The question would be, why not? At this point after failing the first stage. You have to get a little playful so it doesn't hurt so much. For example, I was thinking of going with G2 champion, maybe Navi, but if none of them are champions and I get the gold medal, I won't complain, I would have lost later. Let's have fun.
it’s hard to tell which top5 team will go 3:0
to the point where if you guess incorrectly, it can screw up most of 3:1 & 3:2 picks which are safest options in these pickems, usually.
So my strategy is to give 3:0 to teams that I potentially don’t even consider advancing but they have potential to spike up with performance at the right moment.
tldr plan is to get 1 team correctly in 3:0 and 0:3 picks and then 4 teams correctly in 3:1 & 3:2 picks

For those thinking that it’s better to put the favorite 3-0 teams in the 3-1 / 3-2, BE ADVISED:
The current pickem system DOES NOT GIVE YOU POINTS if your 3-1 / 3-2 team goes 3-0. I put liquid in the 3-1 / 3-2 section, and did NOT get credit for them advancing.
In my opinion, you pick kinda against your self.. Mongolz sure can win G2 (would not even be upset) but they can't go 3:0 never ever, they need to win navi vitality or spirit.. other 3:0 pick heroic.. heroic is the weakest of the first 7 seeds even weaker than most of underdogs... it's questionable if they even make it to the arena.. and if so surly not 3:0 🥲
