- After my first video on "How I Got Into Medical School", I've been receiving messages regarding my study experience in IMU. Therefore, I had decided to create this video to further explain what I had done in the first 2.5 years (preclinical year) in IMU.
I'm deeply sorry that I can't help much with clarification on the questions regarding the clinical years as I have not experienced them yet.
As the matter of time, I only mentioned some points briefly in my video so guys please don't hesitate to leave a comment down below or contact me if there's any other further question that you want to ask and I'll try my best to answer some of your doubts 😊

Hi Michelle, thanks for watching my video and I'm happy that it helped you in some way. Yes, you can wear that, just make sure that you wear something formal for hospital visits, clinical session, pbl or some formal event 🤗

Imu scholarship only applies to local track ya, and only got one people get it per batch ☺️

hi , could you also kindly give me some tips on how to pass the interview at IMU
It was around 3 years ago since I had my interview, it might be a little bit different now but I'll still share my experience with you here,
They started the interview by asking things about you, how many siblings I have, family background. Then they move on by asking about what extracurricular activities I did back in my high school, what leadership post I hold last time, ask how I normally find a solution to the obstacles I face and when their misunderstanding within the club, what will I do to help etc. Finally the last one is the most interesting part because it's a scenario question! my question was, as a captain in the "Titanic situation" what will you do, and they will ask who will you wanna save etc.
Anyway, I don't think IMU interview is really that hard, they just wanna test on your communication skills, problem solving skills etc. :)

Hi there, it was not much when I was in imu doing preclinical years actually, but it's kinda the opposite in clinical school now! Presentation skills are really important as a doctor!

Hi, are these slides are available to sell? And also could you share the books used by lecturers?
Hi, you can download the slides from imu ‘s elearn portal. Different lecturers use several different textbook so I did not use all of them, and all of the list of textbook the lecturers use can be found on the last slide of every lecture notes ya 😊

Hi, is there any professional exam to get seat in PMS at IMU apart from IELTS? Also ISAT required for Australian university
just IELTS for english test. Other than that will be your other exams like A-levels etc

Could you please tell me what uni you study now and does IMU prepare you well for the clinical part at different uni ?
currently studying in ANU, IMU did quite well in their teaching, especially the exposure to clinical settings.
Does it give international students any scholerships ?

yes they have but it's not on campus. It'll be more expensive than the private ones.

我是2020年的spm考生 打算到imu去读dietetic。可是我担心会在disciplin上太严格。例如，穿着。会不会太多限制。因为我是从国中出来的，跟了很多穿着发型的规则。请问imu也是一样的情况吗？
campus的穿着可以casual一点哦，最重要是不要穿得太暴露。必须要穿长裤和包鞋哦。如果有特别的class（例如给我的话是pbl，hospital 和 clinical session是一定要穿formal的哦），lecture之类的可以比较casual一点。
Btw, do you receive your degree from IMU or te partner medical school?
it will be from the partner medical school if you're doing a credit transfer!

@@its_mehonyoutube4478 yes cause you're paying the transfer fees so you're guaranteed a place is one of the partner medical school as long as you meet the requirement which is passing all of your professional exams and also IELTS :)

Also what is the cutoff if you want to pursue medicine in UK schools like Edinburgh/Glasgow? is there a percentage needed or do you need to perform better than others?

1）这个我很难衡量它，因为form4和form5的科目都不一样而且不一定每一个科目都是需要背书，我个人觉得medicine会比较多（一个system有anatomy, physiology, pathology, embryology, biochemistry, microbiology etc要读和背，再加上clinical session需要学的东西也很重要哦，例如说：应该要针对patient的症状问什么样问题和做什么样的检查）
2）不一定哦，但是为了避免infringement，最好是在PBL，Clinical Session，clinical/hospital visits穿formal，如果只有lecture的话或者是星期五可以穿smart casual。但是时间久了你可能会发现到有些人会不跟dresscode（穿得暴露，denim jeans，裙子太短，穿sneaker），如果被抓到的话可是会被训话的哦😂

Gabrielle Gan hi there, imu exam’s are paper free plus you can get the lecture notes from the elearning portal. The knowledge that will be tested in exam will be mainly from the lecture notes provided is the elearning portal ya 🤗
@@katherinelim6060 thank you so much! I'm taking my igcse's soon and i was wondering if imu accepts most of the applicants that fulfill the 5 credit requirement or do they habe a intake limit and will only pick the applicants with best results?

I’m a new incoming med student this September at IMU ,do you know how anatomy is taught is it using cadavers and is IMU good uni to study medicine in general and the lecturers and etc .. ? Where do you get the free ebooks for IMU and how do I get them ? Thanks for your reply and wish you all the best in clinical and future endeavours!
They have MMS which they use models to teach us anatomy, they don’t use cadavers (you can enter the MMS anytime to do revision ) IMU is not bad, but main thing is that we still have to depend more on ourselves . I got my free ebooks from my senior I knew from orientation (not sure whether there’s still orientation or not because of covid19) but u can approach me if you need any help with that.

If international students in IMU can they do housemanship in Malaysia ?
Is there foundation in science course there?
If do how much is that course for one year?
Are you studying mbbs?
Can you make a small tour in your hostel room please...☺️
- housemanship in Malaysia is very saturated (even Malaysian have to wait for quite a long time for a placement) but according to IMU’s website (under the FAQ section) international students are not allowed to do their housemenship in Malaysia
- yes there is, it’s rm 24909 + another 2400 for the international students
- yes I’m studying MBBS but i had already move out from my hostel and I’ll be transferring to a partner medical school next year 😭 maybe I’ll do it for my next hostel 😆

Hi 你好, 要进imu的requirement可以到他们的网页查看哦。twinning programme的话，刚进imu的时候overall要有7，过后还要再考过，不同大学也是有不同的ielts requirement 的，那时候最安全就是要有7for each component可是edinburg的requirement是7.5 for each component 哦。是的你选twinning program me的话有给transfer fees的，所以他们一定会让你进到其中一间外国大学。两年半后就没有interview了哦，是看成绩做matching的☺️
