Totally agree with you mate playing 7 games in 3 weeks is insane and looks like it's taking it toll on our lads but least we have a week now to recover and work on things. I have and will continue to criticise referees week in week out whether we win or not simply because of how awful there are atm. We go again next week.
Keep the faith big lad. I said at the beginning of the season 10th would do in our first year back in the championship, and Neil hopefully getting sacked off stoke and the Geordies beat yesterday is all a plus!
This is why the play offs are beyond us. Even the commentators saying a lack of a striker will cost us getting to the play offs This has to be addressed in the summer regardless of the Stewart situation
Wo DO need strikers of calibre, definitely. And I do get frustrated when we lose - but if you look at Sunderland from an objective viewpoint, from the outside in, Sunderland have done extremely well to not only compete and survive in this league, but be a threat and push for into the playoffs. We'd be absolutely crushed if we went into the Premier league right now
Well Michael, I think your sensible with your analysis , I watched the whole game and the failings of earlier games came up again to haunt us as I feel that we were bullied from start to finish !! , we definitely have good ball players when teams allow us to play but managers have studied our game and the way to stop us is to be physical and in our faces straight away , and it works , we cant handle the physical side of games and it eventually wears us down and we concede , we can play good stuff but nearly all the teams in and around us have us weighed up , the sooner we can match this side of the game the better we will become , I hope we can start to push teams around like they do us or we may loose out for a play off place , keep up the good work M and safc forever ...JMc...
We struggle to compete with a team who are big and strong and play rough and tough football, we always look better against good footballing teams, missing evans in the middle to see games like this out.
Even the Coventry players prior to their goal we're surprised that no foul had been committed - when BOTH teams don't play to the whistle, it's a sure bet somethings amiss. And you're totally correct, if we don't keep mentioning it, nothing will get done (though I wonder exactly what the average fan can do about it), but it's beyond a joke.
I agree about the first goal, but the lads acted surprised that CC played on. We all want a free kick but be ready should the ref not give you one. They stood and raised their hands and CC pounced as they should have. We need to be a little more alert. Yes,trailing by a goal late in the game, you must gamble a little and often you'll either tie the match or trail by 2. That's what happened. We DO need a rest. HaWay the lads!
I think our centre half's need to up their game when they're in the opposition's box for corners. Their goal return is woeful so far this season, It can't always be left to the usual suspects to score. Anyway no game midweek so time to rest and come back to really do a job against Stoke .
danny batth hit the bar as well, so despite the poor performance could’ve snatched a point if we were more clinical I know you don’t like the lack of strikers point, but long term i think not bringing in a 6’0+ striker will be the difference of getting playoffs and not getting it, cos we struggle against teams that are defensively compact, like coventry
I thought our lightweightness ( is that even a word ?) was exposed yesterday when in other games we have played so well that it hasn't been obvious. Poor week but those will happen from time to time with such a young team.
I suppose the only saving grace is that the same poor standard applies to affecting every team although some teams supporters or managers like to claim being afflicted more. A ready excuse for the lazy. Unlucky yesterday btw. Decent enough game. Some good goals.
@@vinnyfurlong6845 I think we have had more decisions go against us than for us. As I said in the video, I’ve on at least two occasions talked about the ref when we have WON games. But yeah, across the board it seriously needs improving. As for the result, I thought we deserved a point but the Rotherham result annoys me much more than this one. This was always going to be a difficult game.
Hey man I bet every supporter of every team could reel off numerous instances of when decisions don't go their way. Forget it Sh*t happens. You can't change it. Move on.
@@vinnyfurlong6845 I totally understand that. But just because every fanbase can say that doesn’t mean I can’t say it. But you’re right - we have to move on.
Hi Michael, Criminal and that’s being kind we haven’t got a CF we have two of the best wide players in the Division in Roberts and Clarke and when you watch most games now more than often have literally in box to get on the end of things. Recruitment has been very good but to end up with no proper CF is disgraceful, I know for a fact mate privately Mowbray is hugely frustrated. For me because of January we have blown a very genuine chance of the play offs, and this rubbish from people well we don’t want to go up..... why not you don’t get to pick the chance was there and sadly in my opinion it’s now gone
Do we think that there is something in the fact we are starting with Michut in these games? Don't get me wrong, he is a very tidy and talented footballer but I can't believe Mowbray thinks he should be starting in these physical games. It was obvious today that Coventry were set on roughing us up and to that end, surely Ekwah was the man to start on Tuesday or today? Are we obliged to play him?
Interesting point that. I wonder whether it’d be better taking him out of the Stoke game. Norwich away after that for instance is a game more suited to his strengths.
I really like the lads we have, they play beautiful football. However, we do also have fragile players when things aren't going their way. Other teams win the ball off us easily, because the lads think teams are going to allow us to play. Diallo routinely today underhit passes to a near team mate, leading to it being intercepted. There is an issue of lingering on the ball too long on the edge of the box with Roberts, Diallo and Clarke. 1 or maybe 2 players like that you can get away with, but 3 is too many, as it makes it very difficult for us to get the ball to the striker because the their defenders have all got back. I feel sorry for Gehardt, as he doesn't get the ball to him often enough. I would drop Clarke for Bennette, due to the explosive nature of Bennette in a wider position. Pritchard deeper would help tidy up the ball to attacks. That being all said, I just like this season. A young side such as ours is going to have stumbling blocks and hit a wall eventually. Lets enjoy the fact we're on the rise
I watched the game, have to disagree with you a little. Gyokeres was the difference. Gelhard was anonymous. Up until the edge of the box we were good, but we lack a goalscorer. I do take your point about the number of games we've had. I think the Fulham games took their toll on us.
Unfortunately didn't get ta see the game today was at work micheal 😐 but we had alot of position apparently and another useless ref so I here.. and given the team we put out I thought we would have won today.. but hey hoy if we had played this team Tuesday a draw would have been a good return today and 🤔🤔
The refs are not going to change though are they, coupled with being weak and deciding that in injury we need to score is pathetic. mowbray has taken us as far as he can i am afraid but bad refereeing will get him sacked, this season has gone now 18 points clear of relegation though start again next season, i am not renewing if these refs are keep doing us QPR got a pen for the same thing so why did we not ? and about another 10 incidents in that game.
Always a fab review

Never got to grips really with the physicality of the Coventry midfield.
We gave the ball away too much against a good counter attack team. Ref was crap but it is what it is. Cheers Michael take care ❤️✌️🔴⚪🔴⚪

Coventry fan and our first goal shouldn't have stood. Ref was poor overall for both teams.

7 games in 3 weeks has taken the sparkle off our young team .. Amad for example
Agree about the standard of reffing.
It’s appalling. It’ll cost a team survival or a promotion place. Needs to improve across the board.

Wilson used to play for us
If we lose to Stoke, I'll be raging. I'm not gonna say, still a good season anyway, if we lose 3 on the bounce.
7 days to get prepared
Well our next three games now are must wins if we can not do that then we aren’t good enough I’m not gonna get carried away but still not good enough

Losses hurt but to shithouses like Coventry it's worse. We decided to get stuck in on 70 minutes but we're weak before that.
