- I know it's been a while!! Please take this reaction to Dreamcatcher as a peace offering. I've been busy and dancing a lot this week so I'll be posting a lot of pre-recorded content so I can give myself time to edit and post when I can. Odd Eye is part of a trilogy called the Dystopia trilogy (Scream is the first, Boca is the second). The main theme is regarding cyberbullying. I’m sure one of my fellow Somnia will come with a full-blown explanation so I’ll stop here 😂
Maison is the first in a new trilogy (they’re having their comeback this October). The song lyrics is about climate change and “please someone fight for us” is a call for awareness and for people to join in the fight to help save our planet. The MV is basically them being goddesses that came to save the world (again, I bet a Somnia with full explanations will come soon xD)

I feel like they were voicing the habitant's voices, especially animals since animals cannot speak so DreamCatcher voiced the fight for " us " as in for them and even for nature in general as well.
I'm not gonna claim to be an expert on Dreamcatcher lore, but Odd Eye was the last part of a trilogy consisting of Scream, Boca and Odd Eye. The trilogy is about online bullying/harassment.
Maison is the first installment in a new trilogy and deals with the environment/climate change.
If you are ga-ga for suits, there's a reason Dreamcatcher is also known as Suitcatcher(among many, many, many nicknames). You should probably start the suit journey with Black or White tbh.
Other groups obviously do suit choreos as well, and i would suggest taking a look at Pixy's "The Moon".

Welcome to the Dreamworld! If you're a dancer or just enjoy dance, check out some of their practices. They are amazing! The Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca and Odd Eye) and Maison are some of my favorites but truthfully as I was listing them I kept thinking "Wait! BEcause is really great too, and Goodnight, oh and Wind Blows..." Honestly they're all phenomenal. Can't go wrong with DC!
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. Dreamcatcher are going a bit into the future here, extrapolating how the world would turn out if we keep doing what we're doing. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher ask us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "plausible lies overshadowed by sweetness". Very deep, as expected. And the song is a banger!
By the way, Scream is part 1 and Boca is part 2. I highly recommend them.
In Maison, Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant.
Little explanation on the fears! These are not their actual fears, these are reccuring motifs that appear around them in mvs. For example, JiU, with the fear of being chased, is often seen running, while Siyeon (claustrophobia) is often seen in tight spaces.
Handong: Scopophobia: the fear of being watched. It's an intense paranoia that someone is always watching you.
Yoohyeon: mazeophobia: the fear of being completely lost.
Dami: Agliophobia: the fear of permanent bodily harm such as scars
Gahyeon: Baseophobia: the fear of falling.

@@karinvasu3005 Yeah, it was originally their whole concept. Early dreamcatcher is filled with these themes. My fave examples are
Jiu: Chased by herself in Fly High, chased through corridor by demon in You and I, literally the entirety of Good Night.
Sua: Pinned to tree in Good Night, chained up in Rose Blue, all of Breaking Out, prob more but having a mind blank.
Siyeon: The shrinking room in Breaking Out, the room she's in in Piri, in general her scenes tend to be spaces filled with things like scenes to give the feeling of having no space.
Handong: The clocks in Piri make it feel like she's being watched, there's a shot in Fly High that shows her sat on a window edge while two possessed members watch her from a window below, the eyes on the walls in Good Night, sat on a table surrounded by suits of armour staring at her in Deja Vu, the entire concept of Chase Me.
Dami: Dami's are much harder to point out. The only one I can think of right now is the hunter getting a vision of his eyes being completely gone. She's probably had a number of scars, and I think she's about to get burned in Endless Night? Idk though.
Yoohyeon: Lost in the beginning of Piri, they have a mini-album called Lost in the City and Yoohyeon is the center of the title track, What's, story. Lost in another world in You and I, lost in the forest in Good Night.
Gahyeon: falling shot in the book in Good Night, seems to also have a sub fear of being kidnapped (Piri, Fly High)

Dreamcatcher is different from anything you've ever seen in a GG and probably in a BG too! They are unique in Kpop. I recommend "Scream", "Boca" and "Deja Vu" (Scream and Boca, as well as Odd Eye, are part of the 'dystopia' trilogy that talks about hate on the internet)
The girls' phobia only/mostly applied to the Nightmare arc (their earlier releases) which consists of Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri and Breaking Out (alternative ending)
Other Insomnia filled you in so much of the basics of Dreamcatcher but... I also want to stress that they are one of the best groups in kpop for dance performances. You get a glimpse of it in the MVs. If you search UA-cam for Dreamcatcher dance practice you will find a lot of treasures. Also they have brilliant dance covers that get their own Dreamcatcher twist. One that's epic is their cover of Abracadabra (in the form of a relay dance), originally by Brown Eyed Girls. A lot of their best covers are of "boy group" songs and dances. Really satisfying to see what this group of women does with dance.

Yeah, you saw it well, Siyeon has a roman numerals tattoo on her back (birthyears of her and her family members), she has two other too. One on her neck ("Paradise is where I am" referring to her 1st solo song, Paradise) and one on her left shoulder (SY wich looks like a treble clef, it's visible in the MV too)
Actually Dami and Yoohyeon both have tattoos too.

For suitcatcher, I recommend their cover of ‘Kill This Love’
They started out as 5 member group Minx under Happyface Ent with a cute concept, all the way back in 2014. Due to tough competition such as Red Velvet and Gfriend, not big company and mediocre success they decided to add two member and re-debut with a completely different concept and sound.
Later in 2019 I think their company literally changed their name into Dreamcatcher Company (DCC). Dreamcatcher only rises in success right now and the company and CEO really treat them well and as far as we can see they're all like a big family. The company also has two boy groups and a female soloist but those are subsidiaries of DCC, it's a bit complicated🤣
If you want to get to know them personally I'd recommend the channel insomnicsy, they are literally THE fan channel and have been recognised by the group themselves. They also have series called "this is...", kind of short portraits of each member and basically a must-watch for baby InSomnia. Currently they're posting season 3 but the old ones from last year are good too and all use different clips.
For a guide just search "the ultimate guide to Dreamcatcher", it has a dark thumbnail and is like an hour long🤣

Dreamcatchers lyrics always carry a deeper meaning and Maison is no different. Maison, home in French, is a plea from Dreamcatcher about climate change, asking us to save our home, Earth. The line, "someone fight for us", is them pleading that we stand up and fight for "all" of us. They call on people to turn away from their habits and pay attention to what's happening to our planet. This is the first part of their new Apocalypse Trilogy, so we don't know exactly where it's going to go yet. They have a comeback in October that should be the second part of the Trilogy.
Odd Eye is the end of the Dystopia trilogy which consists of Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye. This trilogy is about online bullying, hate speech, persecution, and social media.
If you like the suit look then I'd recommend viewing Scream and Boca to finish off the Dystopia trilogy and then watch this.

Odd Eye to me is about the illusion of social media and how it's not real, "no matter how you chase a mirage it's not there" we all want this perfect life but it's unattainable because it doesn't exist. Influencers look like they have it all meanwhile they're crumbling behind the scenes.

Let's say that theses ladies are all Goddesses who live in that white tower in the clouds; they can see into our world and travel back-and-forth. BUT somehow, the SHIT happening here on Earth is affecting their tower (there is a dance scene where at least part of the tower is a wreck). So they want to help us fix things before their home is as bad off as Earth. They need our help fixing Earth so that their home will be safe (the scene where that one statue turns colors and ends up as a Blue Skeleton with a Black cloak...that could be Mother Earth and we are killing her).
These Goddesses can help us (at least one of them is a real warrior and can stand up to Satan himself or large companies that despoil the land and corrupt other people) because they are really powerful but even they could not do enough to fix everything about Earth all on their own, so they still need our help.
Besides, if they come in and just fix everything alone, then we would never really learn anything and would be lazy and rely on them to get everything done. They would constantly be fighting but they would eventually be fighting us because we are all part of the real problem. So we need to get off our lazy asses and DO SOMETHING for the planet, for ourselves.

Maison is the first track of Apocalypse Trilogy, the 2nd will be their comeback NEXT MONTH.
The Nightmare titles you read from the profile is from their debut, a set of 6 title tracks called Nightmare Series.
Dreamcatcher (DC/Deukae) is an unique 7 member girl group. They're a K-pop group known to incorporate pop & other genres and blending with rock/metal/synth instrumentals within *ALL* their *TITLE TRACKS*.
Thus creating an unique signature blend of genre known only to Dreamcatcher.

Dreamcatcher's suit agenda is real but if you like suits they should have recommended Scream (Suit Version).
Scream (about bullying) is a very popular song that starts the Dystopia trilogy with Boca (hate comments) and Odd Eye (deceptive internet). Blue buns is named Yoohyeon (yoo-hyawn) and she's covered a lot of songs you already know like Ed Sheeran's Perfect (but she left it gender neutral so girls can dedicate it to girls) and Little Mix's Secret Love Song and Touch (for Touch have holy water on hand there will be great thirst 😄). Blonde bob and cheeky tattoos is Siyeon (she-yawn) and it is was proven by a team at University of Seoul that Odd Eye Siyeon is **fucking lethal**. The writing down SuA's (soo-ah) cheeks to Koreans indicates possession by a dark spirit or something bad like that; tangent her cutsie nickname is Bboya. The rapper is Dami (dah-me) she's always like that in title tracks but in real life she's actually the cutest one of the group and also Prince Dami.
Not to leave out Jiu (jee-yoo), Handong, or Gahyeon (gah-hyawn) but remember the First Law of Dreamcatcher - It's all of them. They will all take turns wrecking you with talent then being weird adorable goofballs then being hot AF till you're a pile of goo. Enjoy the goo-ification it's worth it.
Good next songs are: Scream (official m/v or Suit ver.) and Boca (Dami attacks!) from the Dystopia trilogy, BEcause a stand-alone song going back to their horror-rock roots, Chase Me and Good Night are a two-part horror m/v from their debut, Deja Vu a SUPER popular rock ballad where they flex their vocal skill more, or marathon their seven solo songs to see what they did when they had total freedom (Yoohyeon did jazz, Siyeon did an ethereal ballad, Dami did pop punk straight out of 2002).

So, Maison is a new storyline and doesn't have anything to do with previous videos.
The way I've interpreted the lyrics of Maison, based on the visuals of the video, is that the words Dreamcatcher are singing aren't their own, but the words of the people of this dying planet. I think the Dreamcatcher members are Goddess/Superhero like beings that heard the cries of the people for someone to "fight for us." The video starts with Yoohyeon beaming down to the planet and seeing how bad the situation is so she summons all of Dreamcatcher to come and try to salvage what can be salvaged. I think the giant ram represents greedy/rich types who profit off this planetary destruction.
A cool detail that's hard to miss is after we see the burning ram head and it cuts to Gahyeon the image in her hand is the ram head exploding.
