These people need to have my restored VON DUTCH BUS ! It would be perfect there!
RAT FINK FOR LIFE!
Thanks so much.
Ed was a dear friend , I was the auctioneer for the Rat Fink Reunion for eleven years, then when he passed I was one of the close friends that pinstriped Ed’s coffin, saddest thing I’ve ever done!
My mom went to Flint Mich Tech H.S. With Carl Casper. He has some incredible cars as well. Never as many as big Daddy. Dude was the king.
Awesome dealership thanks for the tour. Amazing Roth collection to boot.
Peter CPRail8748 Id love to have them fix up one of my stangs. Bit expensive though...
Beautiful cars.
Best if the best Roth collection
1) As was reported in the magazines of the time, Roth, who had contracted the Mysterion out to car show promoters, said several years of being trucked all over the country had literally pounded the car to major destruction. 2) The Honda was a later daily driver. There are numerous pictures of his personal drivers thru the years, including a '55 Chevy gasser. 3) While everyone shows and talks about his custom creations, no one ever includes the wild-bodied, bubble top mid-60s Top Fuel Dragster he built (driven by several top drivers). 4) He is also the official patent holder as the creator of the VW trike. 5) Another missing credit is after he got into trikes and started building them bigger and wilder he started the very first chopper motorcycle magazine.
Yup! Have you seen the other Rat Fink shows on the channel?Several reunions and other odd stuff like Joy Ride Flat Out.
I find it interesting that Dale can take something like this subject and by the time you have watched you are ready to mount-up a trip. Yes, our Rat Fink models were generally gold or silver. Who in their right mind would let a 10 year old loose with a can of paint? One buddy, did those little models all the way with the fine pen-striping and special deep paint schemes. Yeah, he is my age and he kept his kits, un-built, plastic wrappers and covered a shelf in his garage with these fine pieces. I remember the bottom of his closet covered with these boxes of un-opened kits when we were youngins. He started building them in his fifties. Who'd a thunk it?! Brilliant Job, once again.
Jeanne Uzar Ive collected sooooo many kits I have not built. My garage looks like the last scene in Raider of the Lost Ark.
He sounds like he's just got done ripping a big fatty
Cool, funny thing is we met ED at a ford dealership in Vancouver BC when they were holding a craft show ! needless to say we were overjoyed to see the man the legend He was doing t shirt art with air brush for 20 bucks ! this was back in the 80's and he was a nice guy, however he did not seem to be loving the experience... Thank you very much for this great episode.
1500hp0525 Ed was odd that way. WELL IN ALL WAYS. He never seemed to be having a good time. Yet he went everywhere, did everything. I will say the 80's were a hard time for him. But he was out there painting shirts!
Another cool trip Bud!! I still have a model of Rat Fink that I built in the 60's!!☺
805ROADKING I have lost or were stolen, all my Finks from childhood. Sad. BUT I have like 12 un built. Hum... Need to build one or teo.

I think that these guys should have the Von Dutch Bus ! Way too much history for these guys though!
