- Essex completed a comprehensive 254-run win over Nottinghamshire on Day 4 of the Vitality County Championship clash at Trent Bridge.
After resuming on 329-8, some big-hitting from Shane Snater, who made 47, and Adam Rossington, who hit an unbeaten 39, helped the Eagles post a third-innings total of 374-9.
Needing 335 to win, Nottinghamshire capitulated to 80 all out to hand Essex a crushing win that banked the Eagles 20 points.
Sam Cook claimed the fourth ten-wicket match haul of his first-class career, while Jamie Porter took three more and Snater chipped in with one.

County championship cricket is live and kicking! Very entertaining match, and a fine spell of fasting bowling by Sam Cook, taking 6-14 for an Essex win.
Some outstanding bowling there, good to see us sitting top of Div 1!
Glamorgan fan here. Absolutely unable to work out why England just don’t fancy Cook at all. He looks quick enough, and his career stats would suggest that he’s a bit more than just your ‘typical English seamer”. Appreciate that there haven’t been too many gaps in England’s seam bowling the last fifteen years or so but his not even having got an A tour is pretty scandalous…
Comfortably the best performing English bowler over the past few years, 280 odd wickets at 19 is impressive in 1st class cricket. Total mystery why he isn't at least on the periphery of the test team.
Relegation fodder
England's obsession with pace over skills is bizarre, sadly I don't think he'll get his chance under the current regime.
Switching cameras immediately after a shot is played is totally idiotic.
Limited cameras available to cover the whole playing area in county matches, some counties only have a fixed camera at either end.
@@bobstirling6885 The BBC used to broadcast test matches with a camera at just one end. That same camera would follow the ball after a shot was played.
@@yacsem county cricket doesn't always have the budget for any more cameras and operators. It's only in recent years we have had access to ball-by-ball from all the counties so I guess we should be happy to have got this far.
