I still can't get over how amazing this version is. The album version is still one of my favorite Def Leppard songs, but this version blows that one away.
Awesome song! I found it while rockin' out Def Leppard in a recordstore today. Can't belive I've never heard this song before... Why is this not their biggest hit ever?
I remember like a year ago I found a video on here with Steve and Phil going into a studio to record songs for Adrenalize. Then they show Phil playing his jackson crackle as he records the solo for Stand up. He messes up at the end, plays fast and then says "Ha ha ...yeah right!" Anyone ever seen this video? I can't find it
Brings me back, hearing some of the demos from them and others is a nice surprise. Ozzy released some demos on a box set a few years ago. You hear classic hits and favorites with different lyrics and editing. So 😎 cool
Tonight (Demo) Def Leppard Ohhhh...Oooooh... I don't wanna play The wailting game And drift away Leavin' an illusion I don't wanna hide It's foolish pride To close my eyes A touch away from wanting you Don't try to look away When we're face to face I see your eyes That animal emotion You don't have to set Your tender trap It's in those eyes It's gonna happen anyway (Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat) Yeah, I'm wantin', willin', touchin' you We'll be (Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat) Ooh babe When you get that rhythm Gonna move into your room Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite Wait'n'see If it pleases you it pleases me There's nothing I can say No mystery It's in your eyes Those eyes are where I wanted them So give me heart'n'soul I lose control Can't stop my eyes From fallin' into fantasy (Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat) Yeah, I'm wantin', willin', touchin' you We'll be (Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat) Ooh babe When you get that rhythm Gonna move into your room Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite Wait'n'see Check it out Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes Tonight - I wanna win the greatest prize Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite Wait'n'see If it pleases you it pleases me
All their demos are as good as the final release. With this one, I realy feel where the name comes from; I imagine I'm driving down a backroad late at night while this song is playing on the radio.
Nothing Steve Clark contributed was even close to being finished before he died. And what he had contributed wasn’t enough to keep him on the album. So his parts were slightly rewritten but mostly the same. This demo is from 1988 so parts definitely changed before his death and before the official release that you wouldn’t even know came from him unless they told you.

thats one of the hardest chord progressions ive ever had to deal with. and ive been playing 15 years, picked up a guitar when i heard pour some sugar on me the first time
I think it's nice to see how producers work. This version has more like a Zepp kinda vibe while the album one has more like a "straight to the point" touch. I'm way too attached to the album version but this one definitely kicks ass! Love it
Imagine if you could alter the past, have them put this and Ring of Fire on Hysteria and left off Don’t Shoot Shotgun and Excitable. Hysteria is already legendary, but oh my goodness, it’d be up there with like Beatles records when greatest albums of all time are talked about
Def Leppard's best , most underrated ballad.
Almost impossible to listen to that guitar solo kick in and not get chills.
RARE. I miss STEVE CLARK. ( 1962 - 1991) RIP Thank you my friend . . .
I still can't get over how amazing this version is. The album version is still one of my favorite Def Leppard songs, but this version blows that one away.
Chase Charaba the guitar solo is great 👍
the tonight demo was recorded on may 5 1988 and released in 93 i have alot stuff like this and will be posting more
both versions are pretty cool. the harmonizing vocals are a lovely aspect of the song.
Awesome song! I found it while rockin' out Def Leppard in a recordstore today.
Can't belive I've never heard this song before... Why is this not their biggest hit ever?
The vocals!!!! 💖💖💖👍
Can hear the bass line so much better here 💖
Wow, this demo is so pretty! I've always loved this song, but this sounds better!

Kyle Cope yeah bbc part 2 or 3 I forget

my favorite song off adrenalize [:
Suena muy similar a la versión estudio
Wow... Way better than the album version. Definitely a song that suffered from being overpolished.
InHis Grace I'll have to look that up! Thanks.
So much better, plus you can still hear Steve.
Las dos versiones son muy buenas.
Carlos Rojas Yeah both versions are very good but I prefer this.
GraphiteBlimp Joe's vocals are so perfect here...or not perfect, which is what I love. I love his voice like this. ❤
Tonight (Demo)
Def Leppard
Ohhhh...Oooooh...
I don't wanna play
The wailting game
And drift away
Leavin' an illusion
I don't wanna hide
It's foolish pride
To close my eyes
A touch away from wanting you
Don't try to look away
When we're face to face
I see your eyes
That animal emotion
You don't have to set
Your tender trap
It's in those eyes
It's gonna happen anyway
(Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat)
Yeah, I'm wantin', willin', touchin' you
We'll be
(Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat)
Ooh babe
When you get that rhythm
Gonna move into your room
Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise
Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes
Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite
Wait'n'see
If it pleases you it pleases me
There's nothing I can say
No mystery
It's in your eyes
Those eyes are where I wanted them
So give me heart'n'soul
I lose control
Can't stop my eyes
From fallin' into fantasy
(Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat)
Yeah, I'm wantin', willin', touchin' you
We'll be
(Movin' to the rhythm of your heartbeat)
Ooh babe
When you get that rhythm
Gonna move into your room
Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise
Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes
Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite
Wait'n'see
Check it out
Tonight - Gimme love with no disguise
Tonight - I see the fire in your eyes
Tonight - I wanna win the greatest prize
Tonight - So right, this night could be dynamite
Wait'n'see
If it pleases you it pleases me
wow!!! this song explodes before it ends....
This is way better than what ended up on the album
Love this So Very much!!!!!! ❤
I love this song.....
def leppard rocks out loud!
Damn they make great demos !
Steve Clarke is actually playing on this demo version. That is why it has the Led Zep feel
The guitar demo sounds like something Hammet/Hetfield would write
Truly sublime
All their demos are as good as the final release.

Cool thanks for posting this, I love Def Leppard!
What a demo!!!! DL ROCKS!!!!
Steve was in this song? AWESOME
Yes he was. ADRENALINE was being recorded when he passed.Sad. RIP Steve Clark the White lightning
* ADRENALIZE
DefLeppard1221, Steve's on this demo. He wasn't on the final. There could never be an excuse for doing that to Steve. It makes me so angry.
Megan Bordenave why did they do that to Steve?

Love it
wicked
this is great
@codyjt5150 Steve is in this version.
They lost so much when Steve passed away.
yeah! love stand up too!
I thought Sav had a heavy hand in this one?
He did
Make some tour in the philippines...
Sounds so much like a Pyromania song.
Why didn't they stick this on Retroactive?
thats one of the hardest chord progressions ive ever had to deal with. and ive been playing 15 years, picked up a guitar when i heard pour some sugar on me the first time
@lepfan4life where did you get this one.? do u know if def leppard has a book out?
30 years since Steve's Death
@MetallicBill He never drank before shows.
ソロはsteveですか?
Hi Lepfan4life Where can I buy this CD?
You can get the Deluxe Edition of Adrenalize, and that version is on the B side.
Lends? Lends itself to who or to what? That doesn't make sense to me.

MetallicAssault, this one is much better because Steve's on it.
kalebpost20 ring of fire is actually on hysteria
