    Well done. Thanks for presenting this information. I am 45+ years into RC, but only recently acquired a HFP-30 and a digital servo to learn. Things sure have evolved.

    Good video. The best HFP-30 instruction video on youtube. I use it a lot. Thanks from Norway.

    Excellent job, well done. I have one and have been using it just never got the sync to work, will try it now after your demonstration.

    Great video and overview! I am looking to get this and was curious if it's possible to re-program a non Hitec servo to sweep further than the usual 90-100deg? I have several 9g MG90S servos that state they are 180deg capable servos but even with my radio EPA set to 150% I am maybe getting 100deg. Thanks!

      I don't think this will change parameters on servos other than programable Hitec servos, unfortunately.

      @@djmoosecomtoo lazy to take a few seconds to test it for the guy and many others wondering looking at your video would be nice to know if this thing works on any other servos something you clearly should have went over and you should have tried plugging a different brand servo in and shown us how a different brand servo works in it ..
      not all of us have hitec servos in our rigs I give you a F- on this video for not showing a different brand on the test to show whats possible F-

      In this video, the BATT/RX connector on the top-left of the programmer. It requires a normal servo connector. You'll need another an adapter or a ni/cad or LiFe pack that has a servo connector.

    Thanks for the video! I do have a question I am hoping someone can answer. Let's say I'm using an HSB-9000 series servo and I want to use EPA for setting a very limited range of motion, let's say 20 degrees. Is there a way to achieve this using EPA? I have noticed with my DPC-11 that the minimum range seems to be limited to around 68 degrees (34 degrees each direction from center) and this is frustrating for someone like myself who is using these servos for robotics applications. This limited range would be a very helpful software stop that can help avoid any unwanted range of motion or unexpected spikes in current draw. Any answers here would be invaluable as I am drawing a blank elsewhere. Cheers!

      I just tried, and I get the same thing. I never noticed that before. I DID previous notice (and was annoyed by) the fact that the HSB servos automatically move to that minimal value when setting the left and right endpoints. I just never realized you couldn't set anything less then that. I tried on both my HFP-30 and DPC-11. You will probably want to look at the D series servos as I just confirmed that you can do exactly what you're describing with both the HFP-30 and DPC-11. Not brushless...but ohh well.

      @@djmoosecom Thank you for confirming this! Was wondering if I was going crazy. I was also annoyed by the EPA auto adjustment when setting. Seems like these are two drawbacks when using the HSB series. Just my luck I guess.

    Is there any explanation for why you would increase the deadband ?

    • @djmoosecom
      @djmoosecom  Рік тому +1

      One reason would be if you are experiencing jitter on a surface...increasing the deadband might help. Also, remember, folks use servos for lots of other things than RC....some situation might need the servo to be just slightly not EXACT at all times to help relieve pressure. I've never needed to adjust it, myself.

    can you use the sync function with other brands of servos?, thanks.

    • @djmoosecom
      @djmoosecom  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes you can. There is no programming info sent out of the sync port...it's simply duplicating the pulse width being sent to the Hitec servo you're programming.

    • @DEeMONsworld
      @DEeMONsworld 11 місяців тому

      @@djmoosecom so if I understand correctly, your using the transmitter settings with one servo to match the pulse width of another servo plugged into the device?

    If your radio supports it wouldn’t it be better to do all the settings right on the transmitter?

    • @djmoosecom
      @djmoosecom  3 роки тому

      "Better" is probably a tough term to use here. It depends on what you want to do. There are reasons to program a servo...and reasons to program in your radio. You get to choose.
      When I program servos, I can change radios way more easier....sell the plane and the new owner has way less setup. etc etc
      Some people like to program servos. The HFP-30 allows you if you'd like.

    My HFP-30 says “PC Setting” and does nothing. Tried powering from battery and USB. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS.

    • @djmoosecom
      @djmoosecom  3 роки тому

      You cannot power the unit from USB. The USB is for upgrades which I don't think there have been that the owner can use. I have never seen a PC setting screen. I recommend calling Hitec and asking them. There might be a full reset button pressing config that is not public. If you get this resolved, please let me know!
