Everyone! Mofo rc makes pinions for this. Steel. Press on. The drivetrain on these cars share alot with the scx24. Alot of gears and upgrades for this are already made just not advertised for the micro b
I have some pinions ordered from Amain. The should be here this week. I hope to give it a try next weekend. Fingers crossed it works on the brushless setup too. Yep I am still working on a brushless solution that should fit.
It's still in great shape after a few runs at the track. Now I am using a brushless setup with a steel pinion. The little 1220 motor did quite well at the track the other day.
Have a motor of the same size from a Losi micro sct. Don't know the turns or specs. Do know it has ball bearings on the shafts. I put it the motor in a bone stock scx24. And it was quick.
Great content so far! I’m missing some more details on this mod outcome tho. It looks like torque is not a problem but what about top speed and most important, was it fun to drive after the upgrade?? Thank you!!
I just finished the brushless part 2 video, and the brushless is smoother. But the 55T so far is a blast, and I would say it's a little bit faster than stock. I think you would win the drag race down the straight.
Who is this RC Mr. wizard that I have found? Never knew there were so many gadgets to test RPMs and what not. Think I'm going to subscribe and see where the ride takes me. Oh damn, you lost me at soldering gun😅 great video though loved it
Weird, I bought the same exact motor and the car seemed slower after I installed it. I did GPS before and after, too. Maybe because I was using the stock esc.
Great video, but next time you could do a full lap comparison of both motors, to see a real world difference, not just the acceleration. Thanks for your content ;)
@@FredShin-m7x agreed. The motor shaft does have some grip stamped in. So as long as we don’t take the pinion on and off too many times it should be good.
Wow impressive video! I love the RPM calculation. I just got mine yesterday and it’s a really great car. Ironically I think the speed is decent for an indoor track! But glad to know that this motor is available when I’m ready. 1 thing that I think deserves and upgrade is the steering. It does not turn as sharp as it needs to. I am hoping I can get a longer steering horn for more throw.

I got a mofo buzzsaw motor in my micro. Pretty sure the 050 will fit but I stuck with the 030. I have a few of his motors to play with.
@@jaysonchrzanowski9230how does the buzzsaw do in it? Was thinking about ordering one to put in my micro
@traecooley6060 speed is good but the esc doesn't like it much. I wouldn't recommend it. The 55t looks much smoother.

Nice😅 würde gerne das Ritzel aus Kunststoff nach 3 Akkuladungen sehen😅

Hobby wing just released the Quicrun 24, can you look at the specs and see how it stacks up? I think it’s a 15mm size motor!
I have a rocket motor that is 15mm and it will not fit without major modification to the motor plate and the car. I think I may have a plan for that.
Nice swap!! Now you just have to make sure you don’t over heat it by just swapping the motor and putting the bigger pinion on without doing the calcs
Agreed. Finding pinions is the problem right now.
Super cool I’ve got the silver one and I love it. Think I’m gonna get the white one. Also appreciate the video catch on the next one.
@@andyrichey1192 nice. They are a blast!
@@andyrichey1192 I’ve got the silver one… and I’ve decided to leave the pink stickers on it, unless someone develops a wrap for these…

It’s me. Don’t be afraid of soldering, it’s not difficult you just need good iron.

Weird, from what I experance and read on the internet. The 55T motor has preformed well.
Hey bill what receiver are you using with the nb4? That's my main radio for drifting and it would be cool to use it with my micro b.
I used this one: Flysky GMr Receiver: amzn.to/3W7cHfE
I purchased 2 of these super fun but they both stopped working, one only has reverse. All stock. Any suggestions ?
Shit don't say that man I got 2 coming my self on the 18th. I hope 🙏 i don't come across that with mine.
@@g8rdrew247 I a, sorry to hear that. Hopefully Horizon will make it right.
You list a brushless motor but no ESC for it. What did you plan to use with it?
I have a generic 30 amp ESC for brushless. As soon as I know it works I will get a video out in that.
Great video, but next time you could do a full lap comparison of both motors, to see a real world difference, not just the acceleration. Thanks for your content ;)
Great point! I thought about that after I already swapped the motor. :(
Will u be using a different Esc with brushless
@@heatemuprc yes I have a different 30 amp brushless ESC.
Will that motor plug into the stock ESC?
@@TKO593 yes I believe so. The connector is the same.

Link to the motor? Scratch that, didn’t see the link at first.

It’s a great car out of the box. I am looking at a 3D printed option for the steering.
