  • Teklanika River
Sharon is on the Teklanika River when she gives this inspiration. She explains that because of her love for fishing, she asked when we got to Denali National Park if there were any unique fishing regulations. The ranger explained that they don't have a huge fish population because so much of the water in the park is glacial water that has quite a bit of silt in it. You can see the grayish looking water that is melted from the glaciers. The fish can't survive in that water; consequently, Denali has a smaller bear population than you might expect. There are bear in the park, but they can't fish much due to the water.
Just as the silt filled water can't sustain fish, that happens in our lives. When we allow things in our lives that are contrary to the Bible, God's word, and God's plan for our lives. The things we allow in starts just clogging up our relationship with God. It starts sucking the life out of that relationship.
The Good News is we are promised if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We can once again have that vibrant life-giving presence of God flowing within us. The Bible promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us, but we can surely clog up that relationship.
