Hey Samuel.... Got a question for you.. I love all of your videos and music.... I am just learning to play the organ wish you could train/teach me more :):) Do you know where this is a good place to get organ shoes? Even online would be fine... Do you usually wear them? If so do they run true to size with your normal shoes? Or is there a difference in the way they fit? What size do you wear?

A great place for organ shoes is www.organmastershoes.com/Default.asp. I have used them for years and usually replace my pair every three to five years. You want your shoes to be a tad on the tight side so that you can feel the pedals and have good toe-heal technique. I know Samuel tried a pair from Tic-Tac-Toe shoes years ago, and he told me they had a slightly shorter heal. I've never tried them and have just stuck with the Organmaster's. The one thing I will say is get a pair of organ shoes immediately, especially since you are just starting to play the organ! I know may people play in bare feet or just socks, but you will develop poor technique doing so. They feel "awkward" at first, but once you get used to playing with organ shoes, you will never play barefoot again. It is important, whether you are playing Baroque or Romantic era music. The shoe has a thin suede sole (it's basically a dance shoe), a thin stiff metal brace from the heal to approximately the midsection of the foot (to be able to manipulate the expression shoes of the organ) and a raised heal.
I hope this helps and you enjoy learning to play!
