WOW! that photo of that Raleigh Chopper brought back memories. I was about 12 when I saw a red one in this bicycle/hardware store displayed in the store window. I asked my step-dad if he would buy it for me, this man gave me my first, of many, lessons of life and told me! "you have to earn your way in life" and if I wanted that chopper I'd have to work in the bakery, where he worked, every weekend bagging crumbs, lol, until the chopper was paid off! I ended working there so I could later on earn my first motorcycle, and then a car. From there later on life I always gave that lesson of "earning your way through life" especially to all my children, and now grandchildren😉🙏
I am 74 years old and lived in the San Fernando Valley most of my life. Besides these two Beautiful Women in Concert I saw The Rolling Stones 4 times, Jimmy Hendrix was at Devonshire Downs in 1967 , Lee Reed at the Trubador twice, Tina Turner and many others. It was a Blessing to have been raised in the San Fernando Valley. And when I had a membership to Holiday Spa I met many actors who had been in the Westerns when I was young.
@TheMostOfHistory Touring Vietnam as an entertainer WAS NOT DOING A TOUR! She visited numerous bases while on tour... Great! But DOING A TOUR means serving in the military in-country for ~13 months. Her helicopter was NOT SHOT DOWN! It was fired on, as was nearly every other helicopter in theater at one time it another! What she did was greatly appreciated, but she wasn't GI Jane... (But then, GI Jane was also a lie.)
