The last words of St. Andrew Kim: "This is my last hour of life, listen to me attentively: if I have held communication with foreigners, it has been for my religion and my God. It is for him that I die. My immortal life is on the point of beginning." . . . . St. Andrew Kim, pray for us
I agree with your comment, except the last line. Coz for me We have one and only one mediator between God and man. That is Christ Jesus. Why go through the saints when even the saints prayed in Jesus name?
@@ban-akbannakan3446 Why does God do anything through any intermediaries? Why doesn't he do it himself directly all the time? If we read the Bible, we see that God sent his angels to deliver his messages, to deal out his punishments, to bring healing, to give protection etc. He sent his people prophets to deliver his messages and also to work signs and miracles. Christ sent out his apostles, and they in turn appointed others. In the Book of Revelations, this pattern of the way God acts seems to reach a climax. The Church is a family and each believer on earth is united to the communion of saints in heaven. We are surrounded by the cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1). In James 5:16, we read: "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." And so, from ancient times through to the present, the Church has always called on the prayers of the saints, following the Biblical pattern. We do not worship the saints. Adoration and worship belong to God. We honour them and call on them to pray for us to the Lord. This practice was never an issue for 15 centuries. It is only from about the 16th century onwards with the Protestant reformation that the breakaway denominations challenged it. I guess you probably belong to one of those churches. I strongly suggest you study the history of Christian beliefs and you will discover that refusing to honour the saints is a relatively new innovation that is not supported by the Bible or historical practice of Christians.
@@anthtan there has never been a "problem" for 15 centuries except when the hussites(which the pope killed) were around, and also because the pope could literally just send an army at u. If u pray to an image of dead people, asking them to "pray" for u, how is it any different from the israelites creating a golden calf and calling it the image of god? The catholics also claim that the pope speaks for God, and that he has the keys to heaven granted to peter. No human can speak for god. And Peter did NOT and could not inherit this right to any human.
As a Catholic who loves Korean movies, I have been waiting for this. Korea has some of the best filmmakers in the world. I was hoping that they could make a series or movies about Korean saints to inspire conversion and return to the Catholic Church, most especially for the youth. This feels like an answered prayer! St. Andrew Kim Taegon, St. Paul Chong Hasang and companions, pray for us.
It’s so sad though. In the early 1900’s the misunderstanding about the Jesa table resolved. That is what allowed Catholicism to be acceptable in Korea. So many died because they thought the practice forbidden to them and it’s actually not considered idol worship so it’s fine. I have seen the main actor in so many series. I hope it will be on a platform I can watch. I just can’t do Netflix.
I am so proud of St. Taegon Kim, as a Korean Catholic. Hopefully this movie would spread the gracious story of Korean Catholicism to the whole world. Sancte Andrea Taegon Kim, ora pro nobis!
I cannot wait to see this! Please continue to pray for Catholics across the world that are persecuted and whom may become martyrs for the faith. Happy Feast day of the Immaculate Conception!
AWESOME!!!! I am also a Catholic and love Korean films over American films any day! We learned about St. Andrew Kim during "All Saints day". I will be eagerly awaiting this film😍💖🙏🙏
True i like korean films too, american films now a days had a lot of nudity and sex , gays and lesbians ,men kissing men, female kissing female ,it's just disgusting.
I have spent years thinking and saying that I believe that one of the best ways for the Catholic Church to reconnect with people is to produce interesting films, series and multimedia content to help evangelization and to make its history and doctrine popular. For too long Hollywood has created a perverse caricature of the Church, I am glad to see that this could be a step towards a good change. A Catholic movie industry can not only be profitable, rather, it can help improve the institution's popular image, spread faith, and attract famous personalities. Imagine a movie about the Swiss guards who defended the Pope from the French troops... IT WOULD BE EPIC
Since I am not a Catholic I never heard of him. But I am always thankful for the Korean church since they are always fruitful and have a passionate heart when it comes to God. I will search where to watch the movie and glad that they decided to adapt the story into cinema so everyone will know about him.
I am from Brazil, and here we are taught about this martyr, this Saint. Very nice to make a movie about him. I think we should know and teach more about the saints from the oriental Chatolic Church, because their lives are a great inspiration in times of persecution and hard combat.
While stationed in the Republic of Korea with the U.S. Air Force, I participated in pilgrimages to sites connected to Saint Andrew Kim's life and marytrdom. I am very interested in seeing this movie.
Hey brother, the CG is not so great to be honest, but they did a good job on describing numerous martyrs, helping audience understand Korean catholic history. It was a good movie in general.

People of my sect of Christian have been persecuted for our faith since it's founding. God bless all and may this film soften hearts.
That actor was also in my favorite K-drama Mirror of the Witch 😭 I've shed many tears because of his dramatic performance in that show, so I will absolutely love to see this film as well!
St Andrew Kim Taegon, pray for peace, order & healing on earth, strong resolve to pursue holiness thru service & obedience to God & devotion to the BVMary, and help for my grandkids esp Nikko in their school work so they may earn better grades & advance to higher studies.
