From my personal experience of travel on Via Rail, service has been superb on every journey, both Business Class and Standard Class, also on the Ocean Sleeper from Montreal to Halifax.
Just did a trip Toronto to Ottawa, business class with the Older Budd built cars, Ottawa to Montreal, business class in the new Siemens equipment, and Montreal to Toronto in the LRC equipment. Great way to travel, and great service as well on board.
Indeed, beside the train speed and Canadian bureaucracy, I have nothing to complain about Via Rail.
@@NotYourAvgTravel shout out from Pittsburgh, but Via Rail awesome but still love my AMTRAK!
Thanks for a preview on this train journey. I’ll be flying from Minnesota to Montreal for four days next May.
Going to explore the city, before I board the same train , VIA #61. I will be heading to Toronto for a few days, and I will be meeting up with my parents who will be coming in on Amtraks Maple 🍁 Leaf
Then, a few days in Toronto, before we board The Canadian! Heading all the way from Toronto to Vancouver!
Did you liked "The Canadian"? Any positive or negative points?
A Correction on your Sub title, that train never crosses the Saint Lawrence River ( I rode that train at least 25 times) , what you crossed there was Lake of 2 mountains on the north west side of Montreal, you would have had to go Due south to cross the Saint Lawrence.
Business class definitely includes alcoholic beverage services. I can vouch for that!
My apologies if I wasn't very clear in my video. Indeed you are right Via serves complementary alcohol on board the train. However, not in the Via lounge🙃
I always wondered why Via doesn’t have food in the lounges. It wouldn’t make sense if it’s because they give you meals on the train because Amtrak does the same but they have food in their lounges
I think it is a budget or a service policy issue. Via don't have that much business traveler compared to the Amtrak NEC. So, I guess for Via Rail, fruit and granola bar is enough as there's will be a meal on board.
Strange to see a wintertime video posted in September
Making video is just my hobby and I do have a full time job. I will do better on my following videos and try to keep up with real life timeline. Many thanks for your support 🖖
Amtrak also uses Central Station.
Amtrak just resume Adirondack service since September. It was put on halt since April due to track safety issue.
u left out the most important detail...what is the fare for economy and business class?
Generally speaking, Toronto-Montreal in economy class is around 50-100$. Business class is the double of economy class.
Hi where exactly the location of central station?
Montreal Central station is fully underground. So, there's many entrances. The access by car will be via 895 de la Gauchetiere West. Otherwise, by foot there's an entrance at the corner of Mansfield St & René-Lévesque Blvd W, 800 René-Lévesque Blvd W or many underground connection with Place Ville-Marie and Bonaventure metro station.
How many hours journey ?
Just a little bit more than 5 hours.
I´m from Brazil and I'm planning to visit Canada in January 2024. Does the business class train from Montreal to Toronto allow large luggages? Thank you
According to the new baggage policy, business class will retain the current 2 large carry-on items rule. Via Rail trains have a luggage rack for a larger bag at the entrance of the car and for smaller idem, you can store them in the overhead bin. Have a fun and safe trip.
