Awesome place to be :-) I believe David Gilmour had a studio on a houseboat in London for many years (he might still for all I know). Great chat, thanks for sharing!
I have written numerous pieces of music on cruise ships. Its cool and with a great view
I love hearing about these success stories. Keep it up. Please? Carole Paul
It would be cool for you to go through your setup and mixing techniques, if you do not have time it’s understandable, thanks!
Hey Jesse - you talk a lot about libraries in this and other videos. Does any of your work focus on direct to supervisor pitches? Or is that something you're working toward?
I mostly teach producers how to get into music libraries because that's the path that allowed me to make my full-time income with music licensing (you gotta teach what you know!)
Sync My Music I was just curious. Thanks for the reply Jesse!
I don't think I understand what type of songs an album for submissions should contain. I thought albums were for those trying to get radio play. What am I missing?
There are "Albums" in the Licensing biz as well - but they are themed by genre/style for Libraries to be able to serve their clients with.
The albums that I mentioned in the video were each 10 tracks of instrumental music (about 2m 30s) in a genre that I thought would be useful to music libraries. :)
James what PRO are you registered with? I'm based in UK and find that there's a lot of light on ASCAP and BMI, but not so much the UK PRO's? Im a big believer in building on the back end royalties but not sure who to join with? Congrats by the way!
Thanks Brent! :) I’m with PRS rather than ASCAP or BMI - I just figured the bureaucracy would be easier going with a UK PRO (and the library I’m with has other UK producers on PRS). I might be wrong of course, and time will tell...
So does James live on the boat or just use it as an office?
Adam B Harris Hi Adam - it’s a houseboat as well as an office. :)
Thanks for answering James and congrats on your gig. No, what I actually meant was do you live in the boat as well? The only reason I ask is that I am in the process of selling my house and all my stuff and plan on living and gigging out of a touring bus and doing some licensing work in my "downtime". Was just wondering how you got enough power on the boat to run everything etc.
@@jamesbellcentraltv would love to see your studio brother, video or panaroma
Yeah, I’ve lived on it for years, and loved it. Though it’s not for everyone! Had some scary times when the river floods. If you want to see what it looks like… instagram.com/p/BnqXgeog4W_/
