You can clearly tell Tyler really liked the first game thoroughly and got his hopes up just like everyone else. That’s the reason why he sincerely got pissed at the devs at the end and spoke out.

So joel stops ellie from making a vaccine. Joel, the closest person to ellie gets killed right in front of her eyes. Ellies friends die. Ellies significant other leaves her, leaving her alone. She has her fingers bit off, which leaves her unable to play the guitar which was her last connection to joel.. AND she doesnt get her revenge. I'm starting to think the devs hate ellie more than joel.

That's definitely an issue, but in comparison with the rest of this dumpster fire of a game, that's a more minor issue.

The Trailer - The trailer was put together of the flashbacks, but they replaced the characters with older versions so it would seem that Joel was still going to be a part of Ellie's journey. But legit died 2 hours in.

The Fireflies didn't want to make a cure out of the goodness of their hearts, they were a desperate group of terrorist that where fighting a losing battle. I feel like if the cure did work (and that's a big if), they would've held that cure over people as a major power-play. When it comes to the human race, whenever we get something that can help us, we end up making it into a weapon. A cure in a lawless world filled with fungal creatures would've been no different for those who have it. I'm pretty sure they would've used it to establish themselves as the most powerful force and pick anyone they wanted to join their forces to lord over anyone that opposed them.
I'm aware that Joel didn't save Ellie for a selfless reason, he's no saint either. But I still think it was the right call at the end of the day.
Besides, humanity has already adapted to the world they live in anyway.
The best part about the game was just letting Abby die. Over and over and over again.

Pro Tip: In a real apocalyptic world, stuff like this will happen. It's kill or be killed out there. There are no good or bad guys, just survivors (by any means necessary). So it's up to you, if you're gonna trust someone or not. Having said that, they could give Joel a better death (for the fans), because this is a video game.

This “heartwarming” story of forgiveness is ruined by the fact that Joel made the right decision when he saved Ellie from the Fireflies. The cure never would’ve worked because A. It’s a fungal infection and no one IRL has developed a vaccine for a fungal infection (watch Game Theory’s video) B. Ellie was one of a good few immune people who the Fireflies previously failed to extract a vaccine from and C. Once a vaccine is made, then how do they apply it to save the world? They can’t vaccinate everyone and a vaccine doesn’t cure someone who is already infected. Not to mention the other factions of people who may try to steal the vaccine for themselves and ruin it all. There’s too many possibilities that would make Ellie’s death be for nothing so Joel made the right choice in saving her. So how in any way did he deserve to be killed by Abby?
Abby, even by the end of the story, never became redeemable or in other words someone who deserved to be spared and forgiven. Let’s not forget that Abby was the only one who got her revenge and she ENJOYED it, continuing to be a cruel, evil person. When Abby is told Dina is pregnant, she says “good” and almost slits her throat. Compare that to Ellie, who after killing Mel (another pregnant woman) has a huge meltdown of guilt that causes her to be willing to go home until Abby shows up again and kills Jesse. Joel SAVED ABBYS LIFE in an act of trust and compassion and he gets punished by being brutally tortured and killed. Ellie ends up alone with no one left, and loses two fingers so she can’t play guitar anymore, which was a personal connection to Joel.
So, what’s the message of this story? Abby gets the best ending out of all the characters. Abby, the one who got her revenge. So is revenge good? That’s a horrible message and I don’t see why anyone praises this game for having a compelling, thought-provoking message. The only message I got was that revenge and cruelty is good because you get on top of everyone else.
The Last Of Us 1 is my favorite story of all time. I based a lot of my childhood off of it. I used to play WoW, and TLOU influenced me so much I became a survival hunter in order to be like Joel. So it’s really insulting to me when some person tells me that I “just don’t understand the deep message”. TLOU’s world may be one of only a few stories that I have a truly deep connection with, and TLOU 2 does not match up to it.

I am sad that Neil Druckmann was appointed to the director position at Naughty Dog, as not many players care that 70% of employees left the company during the creation of this game, a focus tester was fired for being "sexist," that Neil mentioned in an article that "The Last of Us 2 will normalize stuff that is normal," and is currently mocking users on Twitter on how players feel on this story. Neil cared more on adding diversity and not continuing the plot of Ellie and Joel, together. Not much focus on the cure, Ellie's immunity, Joel's bond with Ellie or perhaps Tommy and Joel's relationship improved.
There are many individuals defending the game and lashing out at players who do not enjoy this story by accusing you to be a bigot. Storytelling is heading for the worse if other directors and writers follow Neil's mindset and want diversity over storytelling.
Neil was being toyed with by Anita Sarkisian, she's the one responsible for this mess. She's the one responsible for the progressive driven agenda being forced into the game. If there's anyone to blame it's her

After seeing that video in 2014 from the Game Developers Choice Awards and the Naughty Dog employee Evan Hill confirmed that Neil used Anita's videos as "inspiration," I would not be surprised that he contacted her for advice. Amusing that Neil on Twitter is denying that Anita ever helped on the project, but from the plot many players are aware of the truth.
You are bit off. 70% of animation designers left not all the employees, and it happened after Uncharted 4 not Tlou2, and not because of the plot but bad employee treatment cause Neil was forcing them to overwork that it lead to them being hospitalized plenty of times,and the ones not agreeing with him were threatened or made fun of. What I find funny about these games that try to have messages about revenge, is that the previous 12 hours of gameplay is the main character murdering hundreds of people as a one man army. You can’t have your character go on a murder hobo rampage then in the last 5 minutes pull the rug up

@@admilz Unfortunately for you I have played the game and yes: Joel and Tommy kinda had to go with Abby since there was a snow storm and a horde on their ass, so it makes sense how they end up there in the heat of the moment. What doesn't make sense however is how they just walk into a full room of strangers and on top of that -- without anyone asking for it -- saying their 'actual' names for no reason. I don't think I need to explain to you how dumb that is considering the events of tlou1? Or have you even played tlou1?
What would've made sense is if they stayed in that garage so that there is a fast way out, back against the wall etc. Keep it casual and be on their merry way asap. Nobody asked them to come in.
Conclusion is that this game suffers from horrible writing from point A all the way to point Z. This would've been a good book or a novel. Shitting on belovend characters from the first game and making you play as their enemy is not in any way, shape or form entertaining. Unless you somehow missed any gunplay, crafting, melee combat, or chase encounters, I found the gameplay super smooth and immersive. It might not have the most complicated mechanics, but it's satisfying when playing on Survivor IMO (Except when playing the 2nd half with bitch Abby).

7 years. That’s how long we fucking waited for this shit. This game was obviously supposed to be Watch Dogs golden goose and they fucked themselves over. I swear if they’re going to make another Last of Us one of two thing better happen. Either they completely denounce Last of Us 2 as non canon and continue the story of Joel and Ellie or a prequel... that still denounces part 2.
I of course want to see Joel and Ellie but I think it would be really bad ass to see the 20 years The Last of Us decided to skip. Seeing Joel become a badass, his depression because of the death of his daughter, the fallout between Tommy and Joel. Seeing Joel become a raider because if you remember the first game when they had the car and crashed it Ellie asks how Joel knew he was faking it. And it’s obvious by his response he’s been on both sides of the story.

It would have gotten boring eventually. Emotional stories like this are difficult to handle and you can easily tip the scale into outrage. An apocalypse needs a good death of a character we are attached to. It needs to be a “death” sacrifice like Gandalf or something though. Gandalf died fighting a fucking fire demon in an epic badass way. If his death was just him getting cut in half by the balrog without putting up much of a fight it would have felt just terrible. So many people stopped watching walking dead after the exact same death happened to Glenn, including myself lol.

The devs should have let you make choices that play huge roles in the story. Also, I didn't even play the first game and I knew this game didn't match up to the first.
I would think any humans with normal brain function would play this story and find it deeply flawed. Even without knowing or caring about the first game, the second game is simply too long, the story is a jumbled mess, it's boring, and it makes no sense. People only pretend to like it cause they want to virtue signal and show how accepting they are.
