You might want to put boiled eggs in water to cool them down quickly, making them easier to peel because, as they cool, the egg white contracts slightly, pulling away from the shell. You can also add salt or vinegar to avoid eggs cracking while boiling. Vinegar softens the shell a little, making it less likely to break, while salt helps any leaking egg white solidify faster to seal up small cracks.
Ha ha I thought I was the only one who uses a spoon to put eggs in boiling water! I figured you were going to use the spoon to crack the eggs so I was delightfully surprised to see you pace the egg carefully in the spoon and then lower it carefully into the pot, and then repeat for each egg. My mom simply puts the eggs directly in the pot, but she does this before boiling. But I always thought you're supposed to boil the water first, so you need a spoon or you'll burn yourself. Like you, I'd like to hear about a different, spoon-less way. But here's a tip: Just leave the spoon in the boiling water for a few minutes, then rinse off in cold water. That way, you don't have to clean it. Anyway congratulations on getting that internship! Also, another great video...I like the scene at 9:27 btw. The Campanile at night, overlooking the flurry of clubs activity in Lower Sproul. Cherish these moments in your last year!
@@lillianhuang160 You're welcome! I was wondering if you thought my comment was just silly so thanks for commenting back! Sorry I wasn't able to suggest another way...well I guess you could use a colander (?)
