The more you know about Photoshop, the more you appreciate how much Unmesh knows and is able to convey succinctly. His presentation and production have steadily improved over the years with his success. What a treasure.
I was told by a college professor who had worked on Photoshop during development that there is no one person who could tell you ever last thing that Photoshop has the ability to do. That was 30 years ago and its so much more advanced since then. Ive been using it nearly daily for thirty years, and im quite often here picking up tips.
Unmesh, the way you teach & explain about any specific subject it's just kinda magnetic. I mean, one can't just stop watching your lessons till the end of the video once they start the play button. you are just amazing. Please, I have a request to you. Can we get a lesson from you, about creating 3D mockup's with photoshop?
You're a great teacher and the fact that you post for free on youube is really awesome. However, being somewhat of a noob in photoshop i sometimes feel like i am a preschooler in calculus class.
Very Nicely explained. As a technique, when first layering and sizing the new (Mr Bean’s) face over the background, I adjust the transparency of the face to about 50%. This makes the sizing easy (and rotation) as I simply put Bean’s eyes over Henry’s. If you align the pupils perfectly, you will solve for face size and rotation. Then return the layer to 100% opacity. Thanks again for all the great tips and clear guidance!
Another FABULOUS tutorial - I've learned so much from you...even after using Photoshop for over 25 years! You see...you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
You sir are a genius. Do you think You could do a bit of a deep dive on using a pen and tablet? I see you using yours so fluently. Mine is sitting in a drawer. There do not seem to be any really helpful videos {that I have found} on this. Thank you for all the teaching and for supplying the download to follow along (that is so crucial) thanks again.
I worked my way around Photoshop since it looked to overloaded to learn it fast, but how you did explain it was just amaizing keep up this great work just wow!
hmm. Fantastic methods by the master, as usual. But, the hardest part of face swapping is color matching the 2 photos, then matching the skin tones of the two swapped subjects. Which isn't even addressed here. The white balance and colors of the photos chosen here are already pretty dang close. Though the most important checkboxes are making sure the angles of the face are similiar, then blending that new face, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to match skin tones. Waiting for AI to step up.
I just used this to Photoshop my husband into Dwight Schrute's family photo. 😃 Thanks for a clear tutorial... it isn't perfect but it looks pretty dang good for a first try.
Turn it into a smart object - right click on the layer in the layer palette and choose 'Convert to smart object'. You can do that for a number of layers at once or to a group/nested groups of layers. I'll often do retouching where I keep all the levels/lighting/white balance etc the same as the original image. Convert to a smart object and then use camera raw to globally adjust for the look I need. That way you can alway go back and change those settings. Smart objects are awesome.
This is really great. One issue I'm having is the anchor icon no longer appears when I use the transfer tool. Is there a way this can be made visible again?
This kind of stuff seems easy when it's just about changing a single image. But I think it's more challenging (and more fun) when it's done with an entire image sequence and rendered as a video: a face transfer that can follow all the movements and stay consistent and realistic frame by frame.
As always, great tutorial. Unfortunately it's not working for me for some reason: after clicking on auto-blend layers my results end up with a double selection around the face (not a single one) filled with repeated images of the face selection.
Please, You could consider saying either use "Control + Key" ---- or ---- "Command + Key" rather than simply mentioning "Ctrl or Cmd + Key." This helps avoid confusion and misunderstanding, allowing both Mac and Windows users to easily grasp the shortcut key. It would prevent the need to pause the video to identify the correct shortcut. 🖥🔑 Thanks... 😊👍
Nice tut. Thanks alot. I have to say i am already for a very long time a subscriber of you and i love your tuts very much. They are always simple to repeat and very useful ofcourse. Thanks and have a nice day.
Let’s say you have a starting image of someone with a beard, and you want to replace that face with someone without a beard, can you help with that face swap? I think the issue is when you auto blend, the color from the beard comes thru.
Nice that you share this method, but it's not a hidden Feature. It's just one (!) workflow to come to a result like this in PS. You can do this with less steps, but a little bit of more adjusting.
thanks. it would be nice if you just said control and not say command. just mention that when u mention control it also means that or command. it makes the absorption of instruction relatively better.
Best 👌 content always Please, which software do use to record your screen and which software do u use to edit it? I like the way the mouse moves on the screen. ❤
Could you do a video talking about using a method similar to this for fixing Hair and Face details in AI Generated Headshots? The hair and skin textures in AI generated Headshots tends to get messed up really badly - like overly edited images from Snapchat or instagram circa 2010
when i go to delete the face on my base photo i get a message saying could not complete action because smart object is not directly editable ? not sure what i'm doing wrong.
Starting at about 4:21 when u say to hit ok and the error shows up, u say to just hit ok. When I hit ok I lose the "bean face". It goes back to the original. Also, when I draw the rectangular marquee around the "referenced pic" and hit control d, all it does is deselect the dotted lines of the rectangular marquee. the reference pic doesn't delete. what am i doing wrong. I'm using the 2024 photoshop.
I want to separate layers of colour in any design. firefly Adobe. How can I do this I need unmerge layers Means decompose layers of all colours from dedign. Thanx
I will try this BUT..... What I want to do is put a real person's face onto a pretty much yellow/orange mannequin. How do you adjust the human skin color to be the same as the rest of the plastic body?

Man, the technology in the hands of the common man today is amazing!! I grew up in the 70s/80s and this stuff was movie-magic back then!

CGI is so good that I didn't realize that Henry Cavill wasn't actually in Man of Steel. It was the stuntman, Rowan Atkinson..

Master! Master! Master of Photoshop there… 🎶
Thank you for this! I just watched this way too many times to count in order to do a face swap and it turned out really nice. Thank you!

WOW you teach more and better techniques than my Photoshop class in college
Not a hidden feature. False advertising but I am glad because I never would have discovered you. Good work. I'm impressed.
just what the world needs, Super Bean!
ah yes, the ol trick of the grain to blend it all, a true master's technique, I salute you, but also you have exposed our greatest secret!
Good video, but I'm trying to figure out what the "CRAZY Face Swap Feature" is since you did most of the work with your own knowledge and skill.
Thank you coach. I've avoided ps for years but with your guidance i think it's time....
1st time i salute tutorial like this.. you are so cool, very clear and knowledgeable guy. thanks and salute

This trick is old but gold
Excellent tutorial, as usual. I'm repeating myself, but you are by far the best Photoshop teacher on UA-cam 💐🙏🏼
I like this! One thing that I usually do is place the new face as a linked image so I can warp and scale without losing quality.
how?

Very helping to all photographers and editor
yooooo, this new format of zoom animated tutorial is soooo goood!!!!!
thank you for your easy explaining , What if I want to change skin color?
Rowan Atkinson would be a handsome Superman! This is a nice technique.

I can't believe we live in 2023 and need all these steps to replace a face in a photo.
How do I remove straight bangs from my forehead? Bangs completely cover the forehead. Auto-layering does not work in such cases.
