Spider-man Synopsis
"Spider-Man" centers on student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. He vows to use his abilities to fight crime, coming to understand the words of his beloved Uncle Ben: "With great power comes great responsibility."
The Amazing Spiderman Synopsis
Abandoned by his parents and raised by an aunt and uncle, teenager Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), AKA Spider-Man, is trying to sort out who he is and exactly what his feelings are for his first crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). When Peter finds a mysterious briefcase that was his father's, he pursues a quest to solve his parents' disappearance. His search takes him to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), setting him on a collision course with Connors' alter ego, the Lizard.
Spiderman Homecoming Synopsis
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine -- distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

Doc Ock used to be my number 1 Spider-Man villain in all films but Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin exceeded my expectations in No Way Home. He is like the worst when it comes villain decisions that affected Peter Parker's life in the worst way possible. Willem Dafoe deserves an oscar, just for his performance during the fight between him and Spidey in the building.
Agreed
Same, have always been Doc Ock at 1 and Goblin at 2, but No Way Home has pushed Goblin to number 1 now
Absolutely! He killed it…….definitely went for the heart this time 💔
Gobby
I agree
Venom is my fav spiderman villain of all time
Something about that white spider on a full black suit always delighted me since I was a kid
It's iconic
Looool everytime Sean does the rhino impression I die of laughter😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was never a major fan of the green goblin in spiderman 1, like I didn't think he was bad but I didn't see him as a genuinely threatening villain. No Way Home COMPLETELY changed that he was a genuinely frightening villain and I loved him, I think my favourite mcu villain now he was unbelievable!
Sean, if you don't include Shocker, Tinkerer etc then whats the point of including Rhino. They have roughly the same amount of screen time and as you said, you didn't include shocker because he didn't have an arc. But neither did Rhino.
00. J Jonah Jameson
01. Green Goblin (one of the scariest villains there is.. His smile & laugh while Spiderman is fighting him in NWH will haunt me..)
02. Doc Oc (without his inhibitor he definitely makes for a true villain. Glorious in both films he's in!)
03. Mysterio (soooo well done)
04. Sandman (he didn't need to be cured damn it!)
05. Lizard (justice for TASM)
06 NWH Electro (what an improvement! Definitely a formidable foe if he gets his powers back & fights Garfield again)
07. Vulture
08. S3 Venom just before Spiderman threw a Goblin grenade at him (so beefy & the S3 Venom is much scarier for me than Tom Hardys. If only he looked the part)
09. S3 HobGoblin
10. S3 Venom
11. ASM2 Electro
12. Rhino
13. ASM2 HobGoblin
14. Shocker
I love how you used a lot more villains than the basic 8 villian format
If you noticed Tobey Spider-Man never let the other 2 Spider-Men beat themselves up. He’s was used to doubting himself, so he knows to give his younger multi version of himself confidence
18. Shriek
17. The Rhino
16. Green Goblin(2016)

5: Kingpin - Into The Spider-Verse
4: Mysterio - Far From Home
3: Vulture - Homecoming
2: Green Goblin - Spider-Man/No Way Home
1: Doctor Octopus - Spider-Man 2/No Way Home
Sandman, Electro and Lizard should have been more higher in the list. They are better then New Goblin. Sandman is better then Mysterio and Vulture
@@arinhossain2100 Nope, New Goblin is better than Lizard and Electro, but I consider Sand-Man. But Vulture and Mystrio are still better than Sand-Man.
@@aammooeebbaa nope, Sandman is better then Vulture, Mysterio, and New Goblin because Vulture and Mysterio are Iron Man villains. Sandman and Vulture's motivation are almost similar. They both wanted money too help their family. Sandman is better then Vulture because Sandman is more sympathetic and even more stronger.
Electro and Lizard are better then New Goblin because:
Lizard's storyline stayed true to the comics. He wanted to help people with the same suffering as him. That's what makes him sympathetic. Him and Sandman were handled better in their past films then No Way Home. In No Way Home they didn't do much.
Electro is also better then New Goblin because he is also sympathetic. He wanted to make friends but he just got bullied. So he became bad because he was tired of being bullied. The Time Square sequence is exhilarating and one of the most thrilling scenes in the superhero genre. He is also overpowered. He is also looking good visually
Without including spiderverse, here's my ranking of the main villains
1.green goblin
2.vulture
3.doctor octopus
4.carnage
5.sandman
6.mysterio

9.venom
10.green goblin(tasm2)

2.)Green goblin(nwh+spider man 1)
3.)The Lizard
4.)Electro
5.)Vulture
6.)Sandman
7.)Mysterio
8.)Olivia Octavius
Top 8 cuz i dont have energy for 17 thx.
i feel like it would’ve been cool if there was a different version of a villain in tom holland’s universe and another universe both shown on screen in their respective universe that got to meet each other or something
been considering doc ock & green goblin after spiderman 1 & 2 as the greatest spiderman villains in big screen, no need to wait & decide it whether they deserves the top spot after watching no way home. instead u can see more of willem dafoe in raimi’s movie displaying the duality of norman & green goblin than in no way home, doc ock ? he was great in no way home & really kept the standard he had set before, but still both villains already deserves the top spot before you watch no way home.
Total agreement! Defoe is #1.
I love every spiderman villains but rhino
Personally, I think eletro was a really cool villain, but he wasn't really executed well. I could probably say the same with the other amazing spiderman villains. I still like him. Electro could probably top my list, and improving him in no way home was even better
What I love about Green Goblin's relationship with Spider-Man is that he IS his archnemesis. He's so integral to Peter's development into Spider-Man, that the Goblin is featured in every Spider-Man verse thus far (his presence is weaker in Into the Spider-Verse but that's because it's Miles Morales' story, not Peter's). I was worried that Dafoe's Goblin would be pushed aside in the villain lineup, but then they made him the biggest problem and issue to Tom Holland's Peter, and I LOVED it.
Yes! All of this! I was throughly glad that nobody was just a cameo. Everyone had a plot, moments, and a reason to be there.
@@kdubbss0583 agreed, generally I think green goblin’s relationship with Spider-Man could be similar in a way of Batman and joker in which they are making this continuous back and forth with the goblin turning both Spider-Man’s and Peter’s life more worse and Peter trying to pick up the pieces.
@@kdubbss0583 the lizard and sandman really had no purpose in the story and were just there
Wait what? He’s in “into the spider verse”?
@@roostermcscratch9060 Indeed he is! He appears towards the beginning of the movie when he’s fighting Miles’ Spider-Man.
The MCU built up Thanos for years to be the best villain and then Willem Dafoe comes back for one movie and immediately dethrones Thanos. Absolute legend
Willem DaGOAT

@R520 J R idk if I’d go this far, but he’s definitely top 5 with NWH alone
Not sure if I’d say he’s better than thanos but he is close.
Nothing can top Wilem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Alferd Molina's Doc Ock Honestly to me, those are the only ones that feel like real "Spiderman" villians to me in the whole saga of spiderman movies, and out of all the mcu villians mysterio was the best one in my opinion, but still he was just ok but he didn't feel like a real villian, just going on about tony stark again like all the other villians in the mcu. Nothing interesting there, i just wish they would do more story lines from 1994's spiderman show, theres alot of interesting stuff to do in that to make it actually be a standalone story again like it should be for peter parkers solo story line. instead of focusing whatever the hell is going on the mcu (even though its fun to have spiderman/tom holland included in the mix), which is why no way home worked the way it did, like come on disney, sony and marvel.
@Parvis yeah that's pretty much how they treated Mysterio, they could of done better with him. I'm 50/50 on the vulture too, I like the PS4 one a little bit more even though you're just fighting him not really building off or doing an origin in the game just a side character villain. But Michael Keaton made him a great character you're right about that
Vulture is the third best imo. Definitely the most underrated villain in the mcu
@@DansandoaTV bruh Your opinion sucks , go watch Spectacular to get more depth from the other villains . Spidey's rogues gallery is absolutely bonkers and you pretend as if other villains have nothing going for them . Pathetic.
@@bigsmall2842 underrated? The average mcu villains ranking list puts him at 3 only below Loki and thanos
Are you implying that 7 million males on the planet and more come can't compete? That's famboyism.
I like Raimi villains because they are all villains because of an internal motivation.
I like MCU villains because they are villains because of external motivation.
And Webb villains... oh welp
Webb's Green Goblin had a motivation though.
Funni lizard man
Webb's is like
Oh no I must do this cause Peter or Spiderman made me like this
To be honest, Sandman was literally one of the few BEST things in Spider-Man 3, and I just absolutely loved him in No Way Home!
Really he was the worst there in my opinion
@@joshwhite5730 i forget the lizard was even in the movie

Yeah he was good and I liked how comic book accurate he looked.
Yeah, The Sofa Scene Was Hilarious
Dafoe’s Goblin has always been not only my favorite villain in marvel films, but my favorite interpretation of the character overall and No Way Home only added to that. Great video as always Sean!

Sandman being 14 is criminal, he’s such an underrated villain
Putting Riot over sandman was criminal itself

i was thinking the exact same thing
True
Especially when he comes back in No Way Home.
While my favourite villain is willem’s green goblin, a distinct feature that sets the first 2 mcu Spider-Man movies aside is their villains. They’re not lab accidents but they’re motivated to turn bad due to circumstances I really liked what they did with vulture , giving him a really compelling backstory . He was the best part of homecoming and is one of the best villains in the mcu
Uhhh wasn’t green goblin literally a lab accident..
@@brazilianpanda4691 he’s not talking about goblin with that statement
@@Xpertfusion ohhhhh I didn’t see the mcu part sorry I just saw “the first 2 Spider-Man villains
Mcu villains reasons to be bad is Tony stark that is so repetitive they all had a grudge again Tony
It would been awesome if vulture showed up in No Way Home. It would have been a complete sinister 6. I’m not complaining with what we got though
MCU Jameson should count as a villain. He's arguably the main villain in No Way Home for his coverage of Peter throughout the film.
Jameson in the raimi trilogy is my favorite character by far. The man deserves an Oscar for all the laughs he brought me especially in spider man 2
Yeah he was a bit of an antagonist in No Way Home.
The virgin mcu Jameson vs the chad Rami Jameson
Jameson in the Spider-Man games is absolutely hilarious
The only ones I'd move around are Kingpin and Olivia Octavius. I was a bit more intimidated by the presence of Olivia due to the contrast between who we thought she was and who she was revealed to be and her voice performance stood out more on the level of Prowler. While I felt the deaths and his motivation, I can't take the comically large versions of Kingpin seriously. Perhaps if he crushed Prowler instead of shooting him I could take his comical size more seriously. I'd have Olivia above Lizard and Kingpin just below Mysterio.
how would that even work, miles would see him coming
@@nugget1044 he meant that they could change the story up a little bit
@@nugget1044 like when prowlers doesn't kill miles , he goes into hiding and kingpin finds him and then kills him
This is my version
So you're telling me him smashing peter to death with one slam. Keep in mind spider-man has super human strength and can take multiple fatal hits that would kill any other human but ok
All the villans where lame in that movie
I think William Dafoe’s Green Goblin really brought out the dark side of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
Before No Way Home, Dafoe's Goblin was the best Spiderman movie villain. After No Way Home, he's still the best Spidermen movie villain but even better.
I personally think green goblin and doc oc were 1 and 2 before no way home and now they just solidify themselves as that for good. They kept their same character with a spin that was near perfection. I also think electro made a huge jump after Jamie fox’s performance and surpassed what many thought was probably the worst main villain in the franchise
My personal Top 5 would be:
1- Doc Ock
2- Mysterio
3- Green Goblin
4- Vulture
5- Sandman
@@bigsmall2842 Kingpin? I thought he was boring in ITSV
Lmao Mysterio higher than Green Goblin. Goblins speech when he changes from Norman to Goblin in the apartment is better than anything Mysterio ever done. “Normans on sabbatical honey.” His lines and the way he delivers them is something else.
Mysterio eh
Vulture and Mysterio are worst
@@apoorvasishtla1350 tf ? Nah
I think you're forgetting that Quentin Beck was fired for being "unstable, " which Beck denies but based on his behavior you know it's true. And his motivation was to get the fame and power that he felt Stark denied him, but I do agree that the formulaic "Stark make me angry now i go villain" could and should have been avoided
I saw the movie yesterday and HOLY HELL! I cried at like 7 different parts all in the second act!!! 😭😭😭😭
I cried when Tobey got stapped !!! 😭 I was so happy when he was ok! 😄
same, without spoiling it the ending made me cry
@@dzanihadzo8593 That's an interesting moment to cry

11)rhino
12)tasm 2 gg

I agree tasm goblin wasn’t great, but it could have been if they fleshed it out more. Harry’s character and chemistry with Peter was terrific.

@@marvelpugs6964 I didn’t mind it, just a bit rushed.
@@harryskywalker6814 Fair
The one thing I actually loved seeing about the villains in No Way Home was the fact that they all talked to each other, referencing each other, and communicating.
I am a sucker for background information, continuity, and flashbacks.
@Swervezki exactly, I wanted more, my biggest gripe with the movie
Can we appreciate the fact that so many great actors playing the Spider-Man villains:
Willem Dafoe
Michael Keaton
Jamie Foxx
Alfred Molina
Dane DeHaan
Jake Gyllenhaal
Woody Harrelson
Naomie Harris
James Franco
In my opinion, Woody Harrelson was underused as Kletus Cassidy because it felt like the could have chose any decent actor that would have given the same performance. I think if they got rid of shriek and had carnage on their own then Woody Harrelson could have thrived much more and actually brought something unique to the character that any other actor wouldn’t be able to bring
I was also mixed on giving Cassidy an origin story and “humanity” with “wanting friendship”
Green Goblin in Spiderman 2002 stands apart due to that final Sequence of Events in his final Battle with Spiderman.
No over the Top CGI,just brutal punches ripping away at the mask to reveal the boy underneath.
We need more Sequences like this in superhero films.
Sam rami is the goat
The great thing is that we got just that in No Way Home. All the goblin fights are absolutely brutal in this movie. And the call back with Tobey stopping Norman from getting killed by the glider.
@@lukeprimo4672 don't spoil it for me,I haven't seen it

Lol Sandmans motivations are so clear in No Way Home. The moment he realizes things are going to shit in the Apartment Sandman was like okay im done following Peters Plan
So now he wants to Push the Button on box so he can get back home. He never "teams" up with any of the villains in the last act of No way home.
Why didn't he help spider man then to capture the other villains he seems like fighting with them and trying to kill spider man, he almost kill Tobey at one point , i think they didn't Fully devloped his character, he's actions were making no sense to me . He could just simply help spider man and go back home, also he didn't die as we all know, i think there should be explainion that sandman died or not , bcuz if he didn't then why is he fighting Spidey now , i think at one point of the movie when flint see Tobey Maguire not the other spider mans , Tobey explains everything to him and then her turns good again since we all know Tobey forgive flint before so def now he will help Tobey , there are several flaws in no way home, people just not seeing it bcuz of how big this movie is , but it has its flwas
@@crusher30_yt76 because helping spider man would mean get caught again in a plan destined to fail. He is a low life thug not a patient or wise man, it makes perfect sense to act violently and on his own.
Also is stated before when lizard ask Max "you know if I died too"? That everyone thought they have died, stressing meaningfully by the countdown over their heads and with no meaningful way to ensure that until the final act with the others spider man arrival.
Exactly. It was a big reason why the villains lost, they weren't fighting with a unified goal. They were tag-teaming to get the box, that was all. Sandman wanted to go home to be with his family again. Lizard wanted to stay, but then wanted to continue his efforts to make humans evolve into lizards and thus become "better." Electro wanted to stay so that he could bask in his power and feel fulfilled with his life. And Green Goblin wanted the box so that he could never be cured, and wanted to get his chance to push Spider-Man past his breaking point.

Before No Way Home I would of had Green Goblin 3ed but he's so good in No Way Home and they cut all of the cheesiness from the character that was from Rami's Spider-Man and now you get an excellent terrifying performance from Willem Dafoe. The way he switches from good to bad everything was really great from him.
Green goblin is still my favourite but I wish they did still put a bit of the cheesiness In no way home
@@phycisist2367 I feel like the cheesiness was holding Willem Dafoe's performance back from the Rami movie. I did wish we saw more of the OG suit before we got the hooded one but I guess Willem Dafoe did not want to wear the suit or something.

Why is kingpin and olivia ock so high
Shocker?
The motive behind Sandman's alliance with Venom in Spider-man 3 is shown in the video game and I'm sure it was supposed to be included into the movie as well: Venom kidnapped his daughter and blackmailed Sandman. So this would make the perfect sense. And also in No Way Home he fears that if he goes back to his World he would still see his daughter die bcs of cancer so I guess he's trying to avoid that fate regardless if this includes an alliance with Villains that have completely other goals.
Nope. In No Way Home, the villains are all drawn to the Statue of Liberty because of the box. All of the villains want to stay in this universe, thus stop Peter from using the box, but Sandman wants the box to return to his universe. So he semi teams up with the villains to get the box. Although he doesn’t actually fight alongside them. In the apartment scene, he actually disperses and leaves while the other villains tag-team Peter, for example.
While I have gripes with how Tom Holland's Spiderman is overly reliant on being connected to the MCU, Keaton's Vulture is by far my favorite Spider-man movie villain. Never in my life would have I thought to see the Vulture be so badass in a piece of Spider-man media, let alone be as compelling as well.
He won’t be so connected to the mcu now tho
Not anymore, if you’ve watched no way home you would know he’s gone down the same path he does in the comics, he is finally independent with no one to rely on but himself.
He didnt even have that much help in his main fights with vulture and mysterio he was fighting them alone and doing it himself its just a false stigma with tom hollands spiderman that he only thrives off help
Vulture is trash
I’ve always loved Thomas Haden Church as Sandman! Emotional story, and great character! Could be better, but I loved his performance in Spider-Man 3
Well ya can't deny that Sandman was perfectly casted when Thomas Haden Church got the role
Willem Dafoe portrayed Green Goblin absolutely perfectly. He'll always be my favourite villain

If you’re wondering why Electro is that high is because NWH did a great job on fixing his character
Even in Spider-Man: No Way Home Green Goblin still scares me after 19 years

Why is The Vulture at number 10? Haven’t seen that opinion before
@@zackarydecicco3919 meh, pretty forgettable generic villain imo. he’s good, but just not that great to me

For me Green Goblin will always be the best
Honestly I was a bit bummed to see Willem without the goblin mask in No Way Home but after watched the film it’s all makes sense and is just brilliant, in the first Spiderman movie we see he changes his personality when wear the goblin suit and becomes a bit normal when change back to Norman, here he’s constantly showing his face which in a way build up the suspense where u just don’t know whether at some moments it’s Norman helping or just goblin’s manipulation
@Mad Titan but I wish we saw him in action with Dock Ock on the bridge sequence with the suit before Norman tries to escape and fight it
Willem Dafoe was so freaking good in No Way Home. I love how when he was doing his evil laugh, he was basically screaming
Sean I absolutely LOVE your impression of the rhino.
Green goblin number 1. Simple as that.
I love Dafoe and Molina in their respective roles, but Mysterio will always be my favorite of all of them. And not just because his actions led to No Way Home. He is also incredibly charismatic, his design is awesome and he has the best theme song of all of them.
Just to answer your question Sean, Mysterio was going to use the drones to fight the future villians. He was gonna make illusions of himself and fight them that way.
I was thinking the same thing, I believe he would of got caught either by a powerful villain unintentionally damaging one of the drones or negligence from his team. Because in his circumstance being on 99% right is still a disadvantage.
I'm glad you put vulture high up the list, for me he was one of the best villains in the MCU, he seemed almost antiheroic at times, and his motivation was understandable and even to some extent relatable.
For me sand man motivation is more relatable
I love vulture, very good villain
Mysterio and Sandman is higher in my ranking list. I don't think Mysterio's motivation lacks, bcs if he had all the technology from Stark thru Edith, he can get and do anything he wants. imagine what you can do with Stark technologies. and Sandman was the best thing happened in SM3. in fact, he carried the whole movie along with Tobey so that SM3 doesn't score too low
Lizard is easily one of the most underrated villains. First of all a guy who turns into a terrifying huge reptile is something I love. And as a character you see him a incredibly passionate, dedicated, devoted, intelligent scientist who wants to do good and he just wants to use his intelligence to heal himself. You can sympathize and understand why he wants to cure himself because losing a limb is a very sad unfortunate thing. He isn't really in control when he is the lizard and in the end he has a bit of redemption when he actually saves Peter from falling from the top of a building
Agreed, I really like the Lizard and idek why. He's basically the only thing that stands out to me from the TASM films tbh.
I think you might have missed or misunderstood mysterio’s motivation. He feels worthless and useless in a world full of superheroes and being screwed over by tony stark, so he’s trying to prove that the little people in the world can still make a difference in a world full of superheroes. He’s also trying to get e Edith glasses so he can dial up his ruse to 11, and even though he “died” in FFH he still managed to make an impact in spider mans life. Definitely excited to see him appear again in a sinister six movie!

1. Green Goblin
2. Doctor Octavius
3. Sandman
4. Vulture
The rest doesn't matter
I honestly love Lizard, he feels very underrated. The thing that ruins him for me though is his british accent 😂 It just doesn't suit him at all
As much as I like the Dafoe's goblin....Mysterio has always been my favorite Spidey villain. And MCU's Mysterio for me ranks top IMO. I believe hes just truly evil. If not more than the Goblin. As Mysterio is just a guy and driven by ego. Plus he actually caused the most damage to spiderman (thanks to FAR FROM HOME) which lead to everything in No Way Home. He was willing to kill innocents, if not hundreds...all based on a lie just to boost his own ego. And fooled Peter getting the EDITH glasses etc and was willing to kill him. He wasn't enhanced by any superformula, his mind wasn't trandsformed, he didnt have any powers and managed to wreck Peter's life...for his own ego. That's human evil.
I would rank the Goblin as the second, as hes the one who did the most personal damage. And Dafoe nailed it. He was maniacal and cruel. Driven to break down MCU Peter and nearly succeed. So Yeah those are my opinions.
Honestly So Accurate.
I honestly think electro and mysterio are very underrated. I also like sandman but do wish he was truly a bad guy instead of trying to be good. My favorites
6.Sandman
5. Mysterio
4. Vulture
3.Doc ock (Alfred Molina)
2.Electro
1.Green Goblin (William Dafoe)
We can all agree that after No Way Home Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin is one the greatest comic book movie villains of all time
Think about it, hero !
I've loved goblin since the 90's animation. Intelligent, sadistic, unapologetic, and humorous. Dafoe was damn near perfect casting for the character and no way home doubled down on my opinion.
1. Green Goblin (Dafoe) 10/10 Dafoe is just... a GOAT! Gobby is terrifying, menacing, and has incredible acting on Dafoe´s part! He is cheesy, but in a good way.
2. Doctor Octopus 9.9/10 Very sympathetic, Molina´s acting is incredible!
3. Kingpin 9.5/10 Good motivation, weird choice for a multiverse movie.
4. Vulture 9.3/10 Menacing, good starter villain for MCU Spidey, great redesign from the comics.
5. Mysterio 9/10 Interesting power set and plan, but Beck´s plan has a lot of holes and I don like how he´s connected to Stark.
6. New Goblin 8.4/10 Good motivation, had the benefit of being developed over 3 movies, reason for redeeming himself was a little weird though, as well as the amnesia thing, and the fact he basically sat out the entire second act of SM3.
7. Prowler 7.9/10 Good connection with Miles, very simple power set though.
8. Sandman 7.4/10 Incredible CGI, good motivation, but the accidentally killing Uncle Ben thing is dumb. Arc wasn´t ever really concluded, though. No Way Home kind of underused him.
9. Electro 7.3/10 Really bad, look-wise and character-wise, in ASM2, but NWH really brought him up my rankings. Would be higher if he had a better motivation.
10. Venom (Raimi) 6.9/10 A hot take, I know, but I like how he ties in to the theme of revenge and how he symbolizes all of Peter´s mistakes. Also, interesting motivation.
11. Lizard 6.4/10 Interesting motivation, but underdeveloped character in both NWH and ASM.
12. Scorpion 6/10 Served his purpose, as just a goon for Kingpin, cool power set, but relatively boring character.
13. Tinkerer 5.8/10 Served his purpose, as a goon for Vulture, relatively boring character.
14. Tombstone 5.3/10 Served his purpose, as goon for Kingpin, relatively boring character, but not as interesting of a power set as Scorpion.
15. Shocker (Both) 5/10 Served his purpose as a goon for Vulture, relatively boring character, not a fan of outfit.
16. Olivia Octavius 4.9/10 Just a gender-bend Otto.
17. Rhino 4.6/10 Barely even in ASM2, but the smile that he puts on my face every time see him put him a little higher than others.
18. Black Cat 4/10 Barely even in ASM2.
19. Green Goblin (DeHaan) 3.2/10 Laughable, shoehorned into the movie just so he can kill off Gwen.
20. Shriek 3/10 Bland, basic, forgettable.
21. Riot 2/10 Bland, basic, forgettable.
22. Carnage 1/10 Bland, a shadow of his comic book counterpart, laughable, needed an R film.
23. Venom (Hardy) 0.2/10 No personality, not even a villain, vague power set, a complete joke.
I would LOVE to see Willem Dafoe as The Joker.
No doubt villians from tobey's universe are perfect but taking into account every single villian I think Tom's version have till date introduced 2 villains and they are both perfect with perfect casting. Although only problem with them is their connection more with iron man than Spider-Man but that will surely change after no way home
Vulture and especially mysterio aren’t perfect
@@jxgalaxy3810 vulture is. mysterios reason couldve been better
Honestly, I like the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin, but there’s no way Willem Dafoe Green Goblin wouldn’t be the best iteration of the character. Willem Dafoe is a legend and he absolutely deserves all the respect and fame he gets! And it’s best shown when he is Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (my personal favorite marvel villain)! Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin is the best Spider-Man villain out there!
In my opinion is Andrew Garfields interpretation of Spider-Man totally underrated. I would have loved to see a third movie with him.

I think Doc Ock explained that he was fighting against Spiderman (Tobey) because he tried to stop his machine, and when he grabs him, he ended in No Way Home.
Basically, Doc Ock joined to the MCU in the scene before Tobey electrocutes him again in the final battle.
Electro is genuinely in my top three of the Spider - Man movies he is pretty much the perfect example of how to execute the vengeful fan arc since we actually see real hurtful things happening to him and how he is genuinely hurt by Peters actions and everyone else’s plus it’s impossible to not at least feel bad for the throughout the movie
@UBI fan25 I wanted more of Electro in NWH tbh even though he was great
@@Seasonal-Shadow_4674 I know what you mean
@@ubifan2522 do you think we got enough of him in NWH?
I was actually surprised you added The Lizard as #10 I would've thought he would be lower. I actually like The Lizard he is awesome and threatening.
In no way home he was kinda nerfed but he was still cool
The Vulture is my favourite villain. His goals and motives are made clear, he's a fleshed out character, his actions are understandable but still come from a villainous mindset and he's a great two-face character, the normal loving father and the cold and ruthless Vulture. A 10/10.
agreed better than being evil for no reasons.
1.Green Goblin(Willem Defoe)
-No competition lol.The GOAT himself
2.Doc Ock

-Good side character
13.Riot

15.Shreak
-Mid af
15.Green Goblin(Dane Dehaan)
-Has potential if he became main villain of the next Tasm movies
16.Venom(topher grace)
-Trash.Should've save him for Spider man 4
17.Shocker
-Barely any screentime.one of my fav in the comics,I hope they use him as main villains instead of being henchmen
18.Rhino
-has potential but trash in the movie
19.Scorpion
-Just a cameo but he's one of my fav in comics,Just hope they use him more in MCU
20.Tinkerer
-basically no screentime
Mysterio could have just used his illusions on the real threats, then have a few various weapons to easily finish them off.
My top five is:
1° Green Goblin
2° Doc Ock
3° Vulture
4° Sandman
5° Mysterio/Electro
Think about… without venom, there would be no Bully Maguire
My four favorite spider man villains in movies are William Dafoe green goblin ,Topher grace venom, vulture, and bully Maguire.
Pretty damn good list, top 3 is spot on. Dafoe's Goblin, Doc Oc and Vulture are on a level of their own. I would've moved New Goblin up a couple spots to right behind them because he had a really well developed villain arc over the Raimi trilogy and his motivations made the most sense compared to many other villains but the rest are in pretty accurate spots.
Again, one of those times I said to myself in my head, “I hope Sean ranks all the spider-man villains”. Love how Sean’s just always answering my prayers. 🙏 👌
Ok
Had the same top 3 doc ock was originally no 1 but no way home pushed green goblin up to the top spot still loved both of them in that movie
Vulture, Doc Ock, and Green Goblin are without a doubt the top three, I'd argue you could place Vulture ahead of Doc Ock but Norman gotta be number one after No Way Home.
I completely agree
No wonders, in comics doc ock and goblin always portrayed to be the ultimate bad guys for spidey
Oh you can't do this to me, you know how much I sacrificed! Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Vulture are my favorites!

William Dafoe as Green Goblin is a villain, that is great in his first appearance in Spider man, but then he appears in No way home and becomes even better, then he actually was. Just one spiderman movie appearance after 19 years and becomes the best spider man villain of all time and also the best Mcu villain of all time, kicking out Thanos from the best Mcu villain.
Goblin in nwh was the best performance. The lack of a mask let's us see how messed up he truly is

Your Rhino impression gets me every time 😂😂
Sean acting like Paul Giammati is my favourite reason to watch his every Spidey related video.
I’m just including main and secondary villains from Spider-Man films (not Venom)
1) Green Goblin: Norman is a self conscious man who is worried of becoming irrelevant and hard work wasted, Goblin is the one dimensional villain which only works because Norman is a layered character. No Way Home and Willem Defo did a great job of making the audience feel sorry for Norman so when he goes back to being the Green Goblin you feel bad for him.
2) Doc Ock: a man who had a little ego which caused his arms to take over and become a villain, a great redemption arc at the end of Spider-Man 2 and a respectful follow up in No Way Home showing that Doctor Octopus was a villain but Otto Ocktavious was not.
3) Harry Osborn (Raimi-Verse): bit controversial with him being this high but he has such a long and detailed arc that I think each film does a great job at showing the progression of his character.
4) Vulture: a Spider-Man villain which doesn’t create massive steaks but he just wants to steal money so he can help his family, Spider-Man is in the way and that annoys him. Him being revealed as Lizz’s Dad is one of my favourite twists in the MCU. That twist added so much to the end of the film
5) Kingpin: not a lot of screen time but he killed Spider-Man and his motivations were actually really good. He wants to bring back his family because his ego and irresponsibility got them killed. Kinda like Peter Parker.
6) The Prowler: Arron Davis and the Prowler were two completely different characters almost. One was fun and charming and the other was a no nonsense killer so when the Prowler is revealed to be Arron Davis the audience is shocked because of how different they are. The moment where he refuses to kill Miles was great and his death was Miles’ Uncle Ben moment but where as Uncle Ben’s death was to show Peter the man he should become Arron’s death was sadly to show Miles the man he shouldn’t become
7) Electro: didn’t like him in TASM 2 but he was fantastic in No Way Home. The new universe gave him everything he wanted, he looked cooler, he felt more powerful, he was a somebody, he had more confidence which is something he saw in Andrew’s Spider-Man which is why he wished he was black because he wanted to see as much of himself as possible in Spider-Man. That’s quite cool
8) Sandman: I do like how he just wants to help his daughter, he wants to get the box in No Way Home just so he can go and see her and he has trust issues which is why he becomes more of a villain again when he was a hero at the start.
9) Lizard: thought he was great in TASM 1 but when he becomes the Lizard himself and wants to turn people into Lizards then it loses me a bit, he’s the only character in No Way Home where I felt they didn’t get right at all or pay respect to their original film
10) Olivia Octavious: nothing wrong with her, I just didn’t know anything about her going into the film, I didn’t know nothing about her coming out of the film
Mysterio: whilst I didn’t mind the story of him being wronged by Tony Stark I wish they chose something different since we have seen that story so many times now. Also, him being a fake superhero was fun but what happens after he completes his mission? He can’t actually do all this stuff, it’s all a trick, he can’t actually be an Avenger. It wasn’t a great plan
12Green Goblin (TASM version): Harry Osborn is great here but the arc is so rushed and Electro is in the way that I just can’t get invested in Harry in time for when he does show up. He feels forced into it.
13) Venom (Raimi-verse): I like this version of Eddie Brock being the anti-Peter Parker but Venom here feels more generic then almost any other villain on this list and that’s a shame. I much prefer the Tom Hardy version. This version didn’t strike me as threatening and I didn’t really get to invested into Eddie Brock however I did enjoy seeing him. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing him back facing off against Tom Hardy’s Venom. That would be fun.
I know Doc Ock is a great villain but green goblin has always been my favorite Spider-Man villain Willem Dafoe did an excellent job as a villain making him the most evilest out of all of the other villains he doesn’t care about anyone he enjoyed all the choas and manipulating other’s people to turn against Spider-Man.
Electro was always my favourite Spider-Man villain from the comics growing up so to see them redo and give his character justice was just amazing for me.
