Nice video. I really enjoy yard work and I also have plants and trees. To get a full thick lawn the soil needs a aeration to break up the soil and have your local landscaping supply company from off some topsoil. New construction site so it just needs a little help. You can also do a soil test with your local agricultural center by just taking a few samples of soil from different areas of the yard. In my area it’s a free service during certain months.
Your sons did a great job helping. The best advice I ever received from a lawn expert at Home Depot was to feed and water the yard. Do not use weed and feed. The sun will kill the weeds and from my experience weed and feed did more harm than good. The fertilizer I use is Milorganite.
