  • *Unlock the SECRETS to a perfect BACKSWING by mastering the essential SWING SEQUENCE that no one is talking about! If you want to elevate your backswing, you need to BOX IT UP! In this lesson, I'll explain HOW & WHY this is so critical for golfers.*
    The backswing is a crucial DELIVERY MECHANISM in your swing. In this video, you will learn how to achieve the "race to a dead heat," where the CLUB HEAD, WRISTS, ARMS, and BODY work at different speeds to converge perfectly at the top.
    My step-by-step training will help you build and refine your BACKSWING by not only understanding WHY golfers struggle with it but, more importantly, HOW TO TRAIN yourself to groove a backswing that is CONSISTENT and EFFECTIVE.
    Enjoy the video, and thank you for WATCHING, LIKING, COMMENTING, and SUBSCRIBING to my channel.

    Hi Andrew from South Africa, your teaching method is a revelation for me. I am 82 have had back issues for years.
    I am not going to criticise all the other Utube coaches they have their coaching styles.
    Long story short, I can now swing a club again with great results pain free. 😊

    Really astute and useful advice. The right arm box has been a big help to me as a mental image or thought during the swing. It may seem counter to so much other instruction, but in fact the right arm (for a right hander) controls the swing while the left arm almost seems to be along for the ride. And as you show here, at the start of the backswing it should feel like you are swinging the club in a straight line. As you show, one should not pull it back around the corner thinking that is necessary to make a rotary swing. What actually happens is that as the arms raise up and the shoulders turn, voila, the hands will automatically end up above and a bit behind the shoulders with the shaft on plane.

    Another game changer, worked this with the video at home. Then to the range, loosened up the swing and gained yards and easier to stay back to the target. Thank You - Again!!

    Andrew, you must be clairvoyant. This is exactly what I’ve been working on, getting wrists set earlier and club more vertical. Been dragging around the corner and laid off. Been using the wall drill to change pattern. Your statement on how far back the one piece is really helps! Thanks!

      Stono Ferry right? I played the course 12 years ago as a stop on a roadtrip tour through the Southeast. As a Dutchman, first time in my life I had to deal with Bermuda grass, and it got me completely confused :-) Fluffy stuff growing sideways, I was at first convinced it was some species of moss, LOL.

    I think I know the answer but just to be certain the early wrist hinge you discussed applies to every club in the bag including driver, correct? I think I was so concerned about width, especially with driver, I was collapsing at the top leading to every type of horrible shot imaginable.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  3 місяці тому

      Wrist hinge without support from the body is likely worse than club drag with support, in particular with the driver so be careful you don’t pick the club up too soon!
      Having said that I like getting the trail arm structure set with all clubs by chest high in the backswing! From there you can simply wind and STRETCH to add some width!

    4:53 is gold. I recently started setting my wrist earlier, and that is very much the feel I recognize, almost as if the clubhead propels itself to the top giving my arms just too little time to take the club too far back inside (my pattern for 20 years). I just need to be sure I keep my knuckles down and not fall into the trap to extend the lead wrist when I hinge. Still my hips open more slowly in the downswing than I would ideally like, but getting there to get rid of the last of my small scooping habit, I think I have difficulty timing the push using the ground force to push my lead hip back (on video it looks like I push up just before or at impact and not before, aka way too late), a video on that timing would be very welcome. For sure I compress the ball better than ever before, much thanks to the explanations on your channel.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  2 місяці тому +1

      What I’ve found useful rather than trying to get open is to simply feel like at the point of collision I’m crushing a bug under my left heel. I’ve found with this simple thought that my lead knee and quad naturally react which helps me rotate a lot better.
      If you lack hip mobility then attempting this will cause more harm than good (EE!). Rotating the lead foot open will NATURALLY help most golfers create more depth at impact!
      I should mention that most golfers obsess over lower body dynamics and leave their arms at the start line! I would advise educating your hands and arms first and then integrate GRF!

      It takes some practice and helps if you have the club in a great position. Use a mirror or camera to check!
