Definitely didn't mean to use so much profanity, it's an honest reaction 😅 Sometimes I'll edit stuff like that out, but figured I'd just leave it in. Thanks for your comment.
@@AlienRidesIt's pretty cool. If it gets more competitive between brands, there are at least a few ways to get a new edge. One thing that came to my mind is that although it's super cool to have the huge power at both wheels, it might be at least slightly reducing the "racing" performance. The front wheel just doesn't need the same power as the rear wheel, and any unused power could be trimmed to cut weight and increase range. I'm not sure what the power distribution is but I thought I saw somewhere that both motors had equal power. I'd like to see basic TCS and anti wheelie systems. It would be cool to see electric scooters push the edge of what's possible. Especially if you could open the throttle with confidence that the tires can stay planted and give you the maximum acceleration without compromising safety and handling. I have to admit the thought of working on something like that is exciting. I'll be keeping my eyes out to see what's next.
These are great questions and we hope to perform some range tests soon. Only speed test is the acceleration test which you see here. Hope to find some nice race tracks in the future to test the true top speed.
I'm sure it's just camera effect, but that X looks slower than my Thunder, but that Rion is laying waste to the X, so I know the Thunder ain't touching that.
xorbe2 having ridden both the thunder and the DTX, and still love riding both of them, I can say that speed-wise the Rion destroys the DTX. I find the DTX about 10% faster than the Thunder. The Thunder was still a great purchase though and I hope you’re having fun riding it.
@@AlienRides Hah yeah the Thunder is a kick in the pants. Not gonna lie though wrt the DTX, if I'm gonna ride around all day at less than 60 mph, I'd get a hooligan Honda Grom or Monkey! So many toys, so little time ...
Thanks. The DTX is a totally ridiculous monster, and that’s one of the reasons I love it. I’m used to the finger throttle, but I found both usable. I do think that the thumb throttle might be more comfortable for long rides, but need to ride with one more before I can say.
I don't understand the comments about the chirping being the rim slipping inside the tire. Wouldn't it be harder to slip the rim in the tire than for the tire to slip on the road? The tire is only contacting the road on a small patch with half the weight of the vehicle (or less), but the tire is squeezing the rim on all sides with presumably greater force than the weight of the vehicle. Another point is that friction is pretty much the same at all speeds, so if the rim was easier to slip than the tire on the road; the rim should also slip if you hold the brakes and try to push the bike.
What I don't like about it is the fact that u have little autonomy, no lights, no kick stand, not water proof, no horn, also no display or at least indicator of the battery voltage which is a huge minus. The only 4 pro's here are regarding the high speed, charging really fast in only 2 hours with amazing 10 amps, amazing high quality magura brakes, and also very good kilos, is somehow light.
Papp Sebastian Georgian yeah, gotta love the carbon fiber construction making it super light. I’ve heard some changes for some of these areas are in the works, video later this year ;-)
@@AlienRides still.... 7k euros for this product is tooooo muuuch.... I would give 1.6 to max 2k euros for such a scooter, let's be honnest, maybe it has amazing speed and all of that, but don't forget that autonomy is far more important than speed. Paying 7k euros for only 15-20 km range? No thank u. My etwow can do even more than that, for only 1k euros mate.
Well the dualtron x is only on 60v while the rion is in much higher voltage than 60v If you want speed you need to up your voltage. Hence the rion wins over dualtron x in terms of speed
Awesome video! Can I ask which throttle setup you prefer? Lots of talk of people wanting to swap their Dualtron to thumb setup which I tend to agree would be more comfortable. Your thoughts?
At first I wanted a thumb throttle, but then I started reading about how the finger throttle was better for control since you have your thumb around the handlebars. I never ended up looking to make the switch. I think it's really up to personal preference.
I would still take the dualtron x. You have a heavier frame heavier components it's made for people who are 6ft 240 lb. I don't think that race was fair where you had a kid who's a hundred twenty five pounds on that race edition.
That's fair, I think the Dualtron X might be a better choice for those bigger guys, but I have heard of guys who are 260 having a great time on the Rion.
@Martyr4JesusTheChrist Lol, I get zero income as stated in another comment 🤷♂️ I just like fast toys. I haven't seen any other alibaba scooters smoke the Dualtron X like the Rion did. I definitely don't want to push false information in any way. I'll try to gather some facts for you, including where the controller/hubs come from - would be good to know that.
Martyr4JesusTheChrist cool to know that you are talking with Rion and I’m always happy to meet people who know about EVs. Some of the Dualtron are really crazy, I’ve seen modded ones hit 150kmh or more. These are heavily modded though.
Satpal Singh well the Dualtron has a massive battery which is why it’s so heavy, but should get you about 50 miles range. The Rion is much lighter but should still get 25 miles range or so.
Yeah, the Rion comes from a race mindset where you always want to feel connected to the road. Something like a Dualtron is more comfortable if you don't want to feel the bumps for sure.
Nice it seems to go very fast. It is for sure a racing scooter. The only thing I’m wondering about is the battery capacity with all that power wouldn’t it drain the battery faster?
Alien Rides True it the same for me too I really enjoy the speed and reactions from people seeing these types scooters for the first time while moving at insane speeds. If Rion is able to produce a bigger battery capacity either in high 20’s or 30’s Ah I seriously consider buying one.😊
afurisit Honesty I’m not sure on their website they don’t mention much information about what types they have. It seems they are still a relatively new company. What I’ve seen is they encourage people to simply contact them for information. I personally won’t take the risk right now until they provide better information or become better established with time. when it comes to them providing information. At least for Speedway and Dualtron Scooters there is some information provided by the dealers. That’s just me.
I think its hysterical that everyone thinks u didn't have the settings maxed out, lol. There's always something bigger, better and faster! Good try though!
😂 There will always be doubters. I'm not going to lie, I love Dualtrons and I doubted the Rion too until I tried it myself. People know I push my scooters to the max if they watch my other videos. One thing is for sure though, I will never lie to make a scooter/vehicle look good. Next time I might run through the settings though on video to prove it to people. Thanks for the comment and support.
@@roscalalmodovar6584 That's a good question - I don't think the results would be very different, but I'd love to make some videos on the Dualped. I'll have to reach out to them to see if they can send us a temporary demo unit.
That Rion will never be beat easy it's totally design perfect for speed and stability not to forget weight is our enemy in racing I like to keep my bikes on the 80lb diet that 150lb solid X need 30 bhp to be a true rocket
Do you feel like the lack of suspension on a Rion is pretty significant ? How does the other brand compare in terms of comfort ? Would you basically say Rion is for performance fun, speed and race (+status) and the other one is more comfort oriented ?
I think what you said is spot on. The Dualtron X is like riding on a cloud and super comfortable, while the Rion is built for racing, fun, and thrills. I would not consider the Rion to be a comfort ride, due to the stiffer suspension, and acceleration that almost rips your arms off, but damn is the performance is amazing, and it's so much fun to ride.
I guess both of those scooters have pretty different use case, I would like to try the Rion, but for cruising around a city I would love to take the Dualtron X.
Dualtron CAN'T win with it's weight being triple than the Rion!!! You can try and try, won't change a think. And you were not "smoked" since you're racing in 2 different categories.
Haha, that's true, very good point. Both Dualtron and Rion are awesome, but in different categories like you said. That said I'm super excited by some rumored faster models for both Dualtron and Rion. I think the competition could be more interesting later this year.
Alien Rides thanks to you and Electric Scooter Guide (watched nearly all your videos) I’ve made up my mind about the best scooter for me, after reading and checking nearly all the major sccoter brands. 1- Since I’m moving to NY, my commute from home to my office ( BayRidge Brooklyn to Dumbo) will be a minimum of 22km per day back and forth . 2- I’ll go for pneumatic tires front and back, 10 inches size for maximum confort 3- Max load over 130kg, since I weight around 100Kg 4- Real Autonomy of at least 40km 5- Max scooter weight of 30kg 6- Front and rear suspensions 7- Front/rear hydraulic disk brakes 8- Horn/indicators I guess the best sccoter for me is the Emove Cruiser. Do you beleive this is the right choice? Your imput will be truly appreciated!
@@mikama-w3r hard to say, that's a hard set of requirements for sure, but the Emove cruiser could be a good fit. Personally I think you might enjoy a dual motor scooter a bit more, possibly something like the Kaabo Mantis, but nothing wrong with starting out with something like the Emove. Good luck with your decision!
Alien Rides thank you and I aggree, nothing very exciting with the cruiser - design, thrill etc - but it'll do the job as a first scooter. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about the Dualtron 3 or the Zero 10X but I don't believe they're a smart choice for NY. I'll check again the Mantis.
Luca Della Vechia I don’t, but RE80 is super fast, so I recommend getting that, then switching to the 100 volt battery when it’s released as an upgrade.

I agree, it can definitely be dangerous to ride at these speeds, one of the reasons we encourage lots of safety gear. Even still though, each time we go out to ride we take a risk.
@@AlienRides these scooters are awesome would love to have the rion, but why do people say it is not good to drive at 40 mph?isn't scooter made to handle High speeds?
@@derekagard because the wheels are so small, less maneuverable at high speeds compared to a bicycle... bike wheels have more inertia to keep you upright, and I doubt you can lean into a turn as far without flipping over. Biking one handed is also very easy (inertia of front wheel keeps you going straight) with these little wheels you cannot really scratch an itch because you're holding on hard. Smaller wheels are more compact though, I guess it's a tradeoff.
Lost in translation I suppose 😅 Generally speaking if there are cars or pedestrians we will fully stop, we might not if visibility is clear with no cars. Bicyclists have been doing this for years.
GSX1340R Right that’s what I was thinking with all that power it will drain the battery really fast. If they got batteries with larger capacity I would consider buying it.
You’re absolutely correct. They’re almost at opposite ends of the range/weight spectrum. Both excel at what they’re made for though. Some day I hope to have both in my scooter stable!
Will C yeah I can totally see that, the power is totally addictive. Still though, this was the first scooter I didn’t dare to max out right after jumping on. It’s awesome and I’d love to get used to it.
Yup, it would not win a range comparison in the current configuration. Some new batteries in the works though, should be interesting to see what happens next year,.
@@AlienRides if they can sort the battery thing possibly have two modes for longer battery then it would sell. I'm just curious about maintenance what needs to be done periodically for up keep? And if Dultron came out with a race edition that would ge great.
Steve Kioussis we get as maintenance goes I think it’s the same as other scooters. Mainly air pressure, tires, and brake pads. I think we’re going to see innovation from both companies in the future including faster Dualtron, and longer range Rions.
Off topic question - but are there any scooters/PEVs that cater to those of heavier stature.... I'd love to use one and save gas and/or not suffer with our insane roadworks here but load capacity all seem to top out around 120kg... Would love to find something more.... Heavy duty...
I think you'll probably need a bigger scooter to handle some heavy weight, but I'm talked to a few heavier guys who are able to ride the Dualtron X or Dualtron Thunder without problems. I typically recommend folks purchase these from here: minimotorsusa.com?aff=7

It was generally super stable for me, though I occasionally got some weird oscillation in the front tire, possibly my suspension was not tuned correctly. I don't know if the seat helps stability or not tbh.

I don’t know your weight, but I myself have a Thunder dualtron and I assure you that you can not take 6 seconds to go to 51mph it takes about 5 seconds to wait 31mph and more than 12 13 seconds to go to 43 mph I do 80kg more you must have your meter incorrectly set , change the size of the wheels in the menu
Hi and thanks for the video!
Rion products are just insane !!!!
Long life to them and to you!!!
Forza.
👍👌🤙😉
They are awesome indeed. Thanks for stopping by!
@@AlienRides 👍👍👍👍😜no problemo, all the Pleasure was mine!!!! Forza!!!
Wow! It beat the DTX in the dust! Both still are awesome though.
maharlika mirasol yeah, distinct use cases for both. While they couldn’t be more different from each other, they are both awesome in their own regard.
Weight difference is insane, definitely an alien ride!👽💪
⚡️💪
5:48 minutes in was the best reaction hahah 😊
Definitely didn't mean to use so much profanity, it's an honest reaction 😅 Sometimes I'll edit stuff like that out, but figured I'd just leave it in. Thanks for your comment.
I wonder if it would help the acceleration to add some weight to the front of the Rion. Lowering the CG and help that front motor contribute.
Yeah, that could be an interesting idea for sure, right now the Rion has way more power than it can deliver to the ground. It's crazy.
I have a question what’s the range of the Rion and also have you managed to make a speed test.
These are great questions and we hope to perform some range tests soon. Only speed test is the acceleration test which you see here. Hope to find some nice race tracks in the future to test the true top speed.
Wow that's crazy fast man👍👍
They are both awesome scooters for sure, but the Rion is totally insane.
I wanna come and work with you guys ! You guys are living the dream 💪😎👊
Definitely stop by our shop some day in San Francisco
Wow amazing fast 😂❤
ashdavenport23 yup, the speed is insane! ❤️
Did the Rion feel refined? Does it handle the speed well? That is important beyond just speed
Yes absolutely, it's the only scooter i want to ride at high speeds. :alienRides:
Great video! I have to say the X looks large and unwieldy. Did you prefer the thumb throttle over the 'eye'?
Hah, yeah, I think I saw that comment thread. It's definitely chirping on the road.
These are nice, but all I need to get around the city is the Speedway max 28mph and I'm on speed 2 which max goes 20mph and it's enough
Cool, sounds like you have the perfect scooter for your use-case. Not everyone needs these crazy race machines, but they're fun to know about :)
Tony Mykhaylovsky that’s way to slow man
Congrats for your 10k subs mate. Respect! Love this video 👏📹 idk if I saw it yet, just wanted to say hi again 📽️🎞️👋
Thanks man, and thanks for all your support and enthusiasm in this space!
@@AlienRides highly recommended... See this one, u will like it ua-cam.com/video/1tnnn5MJ-Vw/v-deo.html
Yup, absolutely correct. We wanted to test that out though. I’m also hoping that Dualtron makes a 72v or 80v version in the future as well.
@@AlienRides u can always get it in singapore ;) keep it for collection
@@Ahxiang99 Yeah, I should totally import one, or bug the Tune Extreme guys to make one for me 😅
@@AlienRides yup make one for u :p its nice to use
I love the build quality and looks of my Hollyburn P5. Companies are focusing on speed but what about safety. Have fun and be SAFE.
Doesnt matter the rion would of still won
Wicked quick. I'm just getting used to my emove touring. Lol.. I'd love to test ride this beast.
Yeah, the Rion is insanely fast and overkill for many, very fun though. Enjoy your emove and ride safe!
7k for a e scooter tho can buy a whole heap of stuff with that amount
That e scooter can go 80+mph tho, with little to no maintenance. If I wasn’t broke asf I would buy one.
I'd rather buy a car lol
Nice comparison!
Both are awesome scooters for sure. ⚡️💪
I absolutely love this video, so cool
What I can say that shimano xt breaks are alomost top tier, this thing must be expensive.
Ah, yeah you already know about the shimano XTs huh 😅 Pretty sure everything on the scooter is equal quality, definitely not cheap.
Nice vid thx,my next scooter will be the Rion, using D6+.
You're going to love the Rion when you step foot on it!
@@AlienRides you are so right 👍, I believe the Rion is the Ferrari & Rose Royce of scooters.
How many miles per one charge ?
Satpal Singh well the Dualtron has a massive battery which is why it’s so heavy, but should get you about 50 miles range. The Rion is much lighter but should still get 25 miles range or so.
Róbcie tak dalej to inni też będą tak nie odpowiedzialnie jeździć. Panowie z głową.
The Rion does not look comfortable though. I would bag the Dualtron just for the suspension alone.
Yeah, you’re right. We’ll do some battery tests for real-world range soon. It doesn’t have the range of the DTX, but damn that speed is addictive.
Alien Rides True it the same for me too I really enjoy the speed and reactions from people seeing these types scooters for the first time while moving at insane speeds. If Rion is able to produce a bigger battery capacity either in high 20’s or 30’s Ah I seriously consider buying one.😊
@@cheeveka3 this Race Edition is for sale ? Also what's the difference between a standard Rion and this one.. big difference ?
afurisit Honesty I’m not sure on their website they don’t mention much information about what types they have.
@@AlienRides so when are these going against the so called "dualped" LMFAO!!!
@@roscalalmodovar6584 That's a good question - I don't think the results would be very different, but I'd love to make some videos on the Dualped. I'll have to reach out to them to see if they can send us a temporary demo unit.
@@AlienRides yeah the Dualped Scorpion plus supposedly is the "fastest" production scooter. Hitting 60mph

$3600 OUCH!!! You can buy a car for that much!
I think these scooters cost more than that, and yeah, they’re not cheap, but they’re a ton of fun. Hopefully the prices come down a bit in the future.
you should compare the comfort of the ride and the overall user experience of each.
Yeah, that's a good point, will try in a future video. I suppose one handles like a SUV, and one a Lamborgini, but both are really awesome scooters.
Wolf warrior scooter 97 km/h try it.
On my list of things to try for sure. Hoping we can borrow one for a few days to make videos on, no luck yet but will let you know.
I guess both of those scooters have pretty different use case, I would like to try the Rion, but for cruising around a city I would love to take the Dualtron X.
Both scooters are really awesome for sure! I'm happy riding either around a city.
2- I’ll go for pneumatic tires front and back, 10 inches size for maximum confort
3- Max load over 130kg, since I weight around 100Kg
4- Real Autonomy of at least 40km
5- Max scooter weight of 30kg
6- Front and rear suspensions
7- Front/rear hydraulic disk brakes
8- Horn/indicators
I guess the best sccoter for me is the Emove Cruiser.
That Rion flat right past the Dual Tron wow no contest .

I think the expression is: "It kicks like a mule" XD
Do you think that the rion race edition could catch with a T-Max or a Zero S would be cool to see a race with this vehicule

@@AlienRides did you when the 100 v version will be realease !?
Luca Della Vechia I don’t, but RE80 is super fast, so I recommend getting that, then switching to the 100 volt battery when it’s released as an upgrade.
@@AlienRides no I don't say this because I want to buy the 100v version ! I can't even comprehend the power of the rion but I will very much like to drive test this beast ! Even re60 must be insane ! I curently have the kaabo mantis, great power but I'd like to test something more powerful !
At 40mph and up you will prob end up in the E.R. 😅
I dont know in the US, but Stop in France is complete Stop. Foot on the ground ;)
Lost in translation I suppose 😅 Generally speaking if there are cars or pedestrians we will fully stop, we might not if visibility is clear with no cars. Bicyclists have been doing this for years.
Oh shut up , Political Correct frenchie. You must be perfect and don't commit any wrongdoings.
The Rion is faster then the Dualtron X but it doesn't have the range of the X.
GSX1340R Right that’s what I was thinking with all that power it will drain the battery really fast. If they got batteries with larger capacity I would consider buying it.
@@cheeveka3 My thoughts exactly, I'd rather have range than super high speed.
You’re absolutely correct. They’re almost at opposite ends of the range/weight spectrum. Both excel at what they’re made for though. Some day I hope to have both in my scooter stable!
Listening to the tires chirp while coasting, that thing is insane. Still, ride it for a month and you'd want more. :)

Ok, maybe these specific models aren’t the most practical ones, being both heavy and extremely fast, but nothing id rather ride 😁
1 hour later the rion dies
Was that the race edition? I thought I saw a caption that said it wasn’t but then heard later on it was the race edition

you guys are nucking futs. what town was this filmed at? N Cali somewhere?
Hah, exactly. San Francisco specifically.
Good video. I have a question. Is the Dualtron X stable at high speed without a seat? Don't get rid of wobbly driving without a seat?
It was generally super stable for me, though I occasionally got some weird oscillation in the front tire, possibly my suspension was not tuned correctly. I don't know if the seat helps stability or not tbh.
55lbs with all that motor is insane!!!!
Is there a speedometer on the Rion??? Great video brother!!!
Thanks! I don't believe that the Rion has a built in speedometer, but they are working on an app which will display the speed. So you can mount the phone to the handlebars and have a digital speedometer, should be nice.
Wow you did like 9 mini wheele. Dope.
