Hah, love it! Most videos I have to play at 1.2 -> 1.6x speed. What a treat to find someone just speaking normally in a video, not trying to slow it down to eek out every second to make a longer video. I'm subscribing simply for this. Now I'm going to watch the video. Keep it up! Hope to see your channel grow.
I’ve got a brain injury and struggle to keep up with anyone talking quickly, but that’s why videos are so good for me (compared to other methods of learning) - pause button and rewind for the win! 👌👍 Thanks for making this content 🙏 I always lean a lot from your videos.
@@nickimacrae7163 sorry to hear about your brain injury. I struggle with understanding fast talk too, but in my case its cos I've got learning difficulties. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you like the videos!
I was so disappointed when I had to do my PhD on it after my original project fell through. But turned out to be such an interesting period in Earth's history. Some of the sedimentary rocks I have from this time are super weird and we have no idea how they formed.
@@geologyjohnson7700 There's always a reason! I come at it from a different point of view, but I love it. Would love to read your thesis btw :) I'm an astrobiologist LOL
OMG! I knew I recognised you! You're a fellow Birkbecker. You won't remember but you were there when I went to an open day for those with offers-you'd just started at Oxford. I did Planetary Science and Astronomy. So cool you've similar interests. I fell down a convergent evolution/paleobiology rabbit hole and haven't stopped yet lol.
@wildfirex666 no way! How exciting! I'm giving an online astrobio talk at BBK on the 22nd of this month. One of my thesis chapters is published, there's a link in this videos description, the rest is in the process of being published.
If there's exobiology and talk of problematic fossils going on around here... maybe a video on why exactly ALH840001 was such as a disappointment would be nice. :)
The whispered voice sounds like I’m getting a friend to tutor me in a cafe or pub as if to say, yeah… I’m teaching you, but let’s keep it quiet, we both know those tiktokers and other blokes might make fun of us for learning.
I'm so glad I've found a youtuber who actually talks about the Precambrian.
Why so few likes? This video is very enlightening. Thank you!
10:20 I would absolutely love a video on things like Horodyskia and Grypania
Very enjoyable information
I'm from North East England, and have adhd, so it's impossible for me to speak slower. 😔
Chapter heads might be a good idea though.
Keep doing what you're doing man. I've learnt a lot from your videos!

@@ruffrider2626 Same. I'm so impatient with videos some times.

I love the 'Not at all boring billion' LOL wrote my dissertation on it.
That's so cool! Which bit did you focus on?
The Boring Billion is rapidly becoming one of my favourite periods of time... looking forward to this.

Same
16:34 that's the Limbunya group, right?
10:04 I knew there was some debate around the biogenicity of Horodyskia but I thought that Grypania was pretty definitively a fossil.

Oooh that's a fun one!
Hey, are you from the university of Liège ? Since Miss Javaux is your boss ?
Yep, I currently work at UoL
The Boring Billion: mostly made of duller-mite

Lol!
Does your university own it's own TARDIS?
No :(
