NAM is definitely the best of all ToneX/Kemper/Quad Cortex in my experience. Great to see that it’s becoming the new gold standard all manufacturers will offer ❤❤❤ Two Notes is a the biggest name right now, with Amplifire, and others. Eventide is also working on a new product (rumors)
Wow, phenomenal playing! Thanks for the walkthrough, it was a bit overwhelming getting started with Genome. I'm having issues running Codex even without oversampling. Hopefully more optimizations are on the way, or I need a new PC lol.
Hi Scotty, the full size NAM profiles are H U G E, I would suggest either try the lighter NAM profiles and/or Proteus or other formats that are lighter and still pretty good. :)
Is there any way to pan the microphones in the cab section like you could with the Wall of Sound plugin? I couldn't see any controls on any screenshots. Seems strange if there isn't.
How do these Dynamic IRs stack up against the cabs in Native? I discovered NAM recently and have been using Native for effects before and after the amp, and cabs some of the time. I don't really like using regular IR files. I find them to be kind of clumsy. Way better for me to be able to pick a cab and move a simulated mic around.
My main question is, HOW do you capture your sounds? Are you using toneX capture box which then becomes a NAM profile?? Assuming it is saved as a preset in genome, can you then use it on the OPUS pedal? Two Notes hasn't really explained this
Not sure how it works on the OPUS pedal, but NAM captures can be done with any reamp box and audio interface. It's very similar to the Tonex process but more DIY and you upload the file to a google drive thing or "train" the model yourself with a python script to get the .nam file.
Jason, interesting new modeler. But, have you reviewed NAM? NAM may be better than Tonex, and it's freeware. By the way, is that percentage value on the top right the CPU usage? It rocketed from 4% to 35% when loading the NAM capture. The NAM plugin uses about 1-2% on a fast CPU. Please do NAM captures and demos, NAM is awesome.
I was a beta user, didn't get around to doing a lot, and I didn't care to claim my free full version. It's just too many options for me, I prefer using my pedalboard, because it's much easier to tweak. Though Genome is pretty good, I'm just not the target audience.
