Frost Beast makes no sense from what we know of them though I guess they could just suggest because it has similarities to Frost Giant DNA they were able to harvest the genetics that gives ice abilities….though that’s more like Iceman than it is Sue….personally I’m with Erik, Ghost would be the much more obvious choice here.

I was just rewatching this episode and when Fury and Rhodes are talking in the bar he calls him Nick at the very end of his speech. I didn’t catch that the first couple times I watched it cause I was too caught up in the great writing and acting but that’s when Fury finds out Skrody is a skrull unless we’re not actually establishing that as a rule and it also wouldn’t surprise me if Sonya is the queen skrull and that’s where Brogon gets his info.
Was i the only who noticed the the captian planet Easter egg when furry said “I remember when your job was to protect the planet” referring to Don chedell playing Captain Planet
Green plant in front of Rhodes is an indication
The body language of the main angatagonist is awesome. 23:19 in the episode, not this piece of ****, what a wonderful scene. Mogadishu style.
In the trailer you see Gravik stretch his arm out a lot like Groot does so he may have obtained Groot's abilities.
It had to be some time after endgame. AT Tony's funeral you see Rhodes still wearing/needing the leg equipment still to walk, and he's still wearing it to walk though most of the movie or wearing the armor, so clearly even the 5 year skip they didn't fix his legs, but suddenly in TFATWS he doesn't have them? he must have been replaced then. SO for sure after endgame
fury saying to talos in the first episode that he’s seen much more attractive skrulls hits different now
I'd be very curious to see if Talos has been impersonating Nick again. the last time we saw Nick before meeting Rhodes is in that same fedora is on the train with Talos. The next scene he was with Elizabeth hill in his beanie. And if we're talking about the colour green in scenes representing a Skrull well in Rhodes meeting with Fury take a look at the plant sitting between them.
In Captain Marvel Nick Fury says even his mother calls him Fury and that no one calls him Nick. Rhodes calls him Nick during their convo (definitely a skrull)
Also in the first episode 1 hill says rosses imposter so they knew he was a skrull
i feel like there was a switch when Rogan was shot...
If fury knows his wife is a Skrull, he can't trust anyone
I Think We Are Really Really Close To Fantastic Four
Prediction: Rhodes is not a Skrull, the president is. Talos/The wife is gonna die for sure.
When is the daredevil road to born again series coming back??
Probably 2026ish. Maybe idk. I guess it’s phase 5. Wait. Not 2026. That’s way off. I have no clue. Why am I even commeting?

That scene with Rhodey and Fury was INCREDIBLE! Now that Rhodeys eyes have been opened despite what he said he will not be able to ignore the signs that Fury is right. The world has been compromised, and Fury is the only one who can save it. This episode definitely set up Super Skrulls and then accumulating DNA for their “harvest” of collected powers to replicate. 10/10 Marvel.
Right!? I was like damn. Two blockbuster actors. That scene was solid.
Why is Fury the only one though?
He made a whole speech to Tony about not playing with others well…he’s doing the exact same thing here!
That scene only made the scene with the mother look even worse. Such an amazing scene following right after such a poorly acted one was so weird.
Seem like all skulls like to look down as they talk. More humble. A sadder tone. Rhodey acts the same as the female prime minister skrull at the confess
When you start thinking at how this impacts the bigger picture the flaws are apparent. As a stand alone series, this is quite enjoyable IMO.
Every single time I see Fury I like his character more in every aspect.
Same same same!!!

Honestly yeah. And I like that he is also flawed as well. Not a perfect character by any means.

Tell me something I don't know? I think what Telos did not tell Fury is the Skulls is a very warlike race that most likely started the conflict with the Kree and lost. During their conversation at the bar, Rhodey calls Nick Fury, Nick, which in Captain Marvel, as he clearly stated, nobody calls him. And during the part where they are talking about how they had to fight and struggle to gain their seat of power due to their race, I think Rhodey could have been talking from the perspective of being a skrull.
yeah, I was getting Skrull vibes from the very particular wording of Rhodey. I don't think the Nick thing is anything because in the years after Captain Marvel we've seen Maria Hill and others call him Nick as well

A bummer to hear not that many people are watching Secret Invasion, I'm really enjoying it so far!
The first episode didn’t grab me that much but this one was slightly better, enough that I may wanna continue to watch.
But remember, unfortunately people don't like waiting between episodes in a world with streaming and binging so most are probably waiting for all 6 episodes to be out before diving into something that might not be good

Suggestion of a deep undercover agent?
Firing Fury definitely feels like a move by the renegade Skrulls to weaken their strongest opponent.
I seriously doubt Rhodey has been captured for long though if it does turn out to be true.
I think Rhodes firing fury was his way of freeing fury up to work incognito, not directly an attack. He knows that fury will do what it takes but working outside of official Chanel’s is also safer for all.
Ooh, this is interesting. Maybe he knows his side is all compromised and he's getting Fury away from him.

If Rhodey isn’t a skrull, they’re doing his character massive damage by turning him into a government lackey and making him act like a doofus. I know he’s been saddled with that role before. But you can’t do it to him now when he’s had years and years of experiences since. So he better be a damn skrull.
He's ALWAYS been a gov't lackey or a Stark lackey. It';s kind of what he does.
It's pretty in character been like that since civil war

Nah Eric is right, if they make Rhodey a Skrull they’ll be making a huge mistake with the core fans by ruining that history between him and Tony. He HAS to be the actual Rhodey in this series and not only that, you cannot minimize that powerful scene with him and SLJ by telling us it actually was a Skrull…….nah!! 😂
Rhodey actually gave away that he was a skrull in that awesome conversation. He called him "Nick". Remember nobody calls him anything other than Fury, including his own mama.

When do we see the Frost Beast using camouflage??
It’s stuck in the ice the first time we see it, it’s not camouflaged.
I think the breadcrumb in that scene may have been, “fighting an enemy 1 million times more powerful “. Oddly specific when 1 million is the number of refugees.

In the bar scene Rhodey refers to fury as Nick. Personally this makes me 99% sure that Rhodey is a skrull as him being called fury was such a large plot point in captain marvel as it was made sure that we knew anyone calling him nick was not to be trusted.
Wow I didn't catch that. That's awesome. Fury must know as well.
@@23lacross thats why i assume he sipped his drink and started laughing
Tony Stark and Maria Hill both called him Nick. I'm sorry Nick! What were you lying? Call Control... Code Red. Nick...?
Lots of people have called fury "nick" should as Tony and Maria
@@Bohen2006 I also think that was why he started talking about the Skrulls as well, as a way to draw Skrull Rhodey out. Since if real Rhodey knew, Tony knew as well and i doubt Tony wouldn't have informed Bruce, so Bruce would know as well.
Great scenes, the comment about not enough room for another species, really drives the point that Thanos made about limited resources, especially in the MCU where it seems Earth is always in some cosmic danger. Seems like it will continue to be an issue that reinforces Thano's point, of course they will have to find an alternative solution than wiping out half the universe. .
Fury said this after referring to his own experiences with segregations (riding the train in the color wagon as a kid). No, the not enough room isn't physical.
Eric! Are you serious?? RHODEY CALLED HIM NICK!! NOBODY CALLS HIM NICK!! NOT EVEN HIS MAMA!! C’MON SON!!

I think Gaia might be working with Falsworth. Gaia takes off around back at the same time Falsworth goes into the tunnel and you don't see what happens right after that... Gravik also doesn't know how they knew about their safehouse the only person that could have been would be Gaia. So I think the might be working together either directly or through a third party.
Great catch!
This episode was fire 🔥 the script , the acting the genius for creating super skrulls without the fantastic four all chef kiss I dig how they got these different DNA strings/ Infos from groot, the frostbeast cull obsidian, and extremis can't wait to see what they gon do with those super skull
I like the seriously build up of tension ,and Paranoia hopefully the rest of the season keeps building momentum, and sticks the landing im hooked.
I felt 0 paranoia and tension compared to the 1st one.
The soviet leader on a wall behind Gaia looks like Jelcin, who was the president for a short time his country played democracy after falling out of USSR. Which would be more in line with their history, since after the fall everything was in chaos and some soviet factories were abandoned.
Skrulls could mate with humans and now we have MUTANT GENE

i cant be the only one that noticed falsworth put the large meat hook across the walkin door to prevent it from being opened from the outside....then when gravik and his men pop the hinges the door falls out without resistance and there no meat hook or hooks on the door to be seen

Didn’t think about that. Just another disney mishap 🤷♂️
I think Sonya took it off to make it look like the Russians did everything.. And gravik falls for it.Because gravik is not following up about the hole.
They also install devices to melt the hinges on just two of the three that are clearly visible on the door
I'm guessing G'iah is working with Falsworth.
Falsworth is really well played. I love all the actors/actresses in this series. What perfect casting and talent. Love this so much!
I took the Dostoevsky reference to be to his concept developed through the course of his writings of "the Underground", since Falsworth was heading underground down the hatch.
The dialogue in this episode, and the implications this has on literally everything EVEN RUMORED, is INSANE

I also loved how the Skrulls took the human form when they joined the Fury team in the beginning. Then, when Gravik was recruiting his team, they turned from humans to Skrulls. Kinda shows the difference between their philosophies.
Not sure if its been mentioned but there’s a slight oversight during Brogan’s extraction. Falsworth placed a metal bar across the door resting on a coat hook and doesn’t remove it before going down the hatch, yet neither are on the door when it collapses. It would’ve either created some kind of resistance or snapped with the door collapsing and made more noise
This is such an AMAZING series so far! I love it!
The visual clue for roadie and fury conversion IS there Eric, the table flower is green and purple, also, the decor in the place has flashes of violet and green, and yes, I'm aware these are very subtle
Intentionally subtle
Side note: if they cut their hair, does it revert to Skrull skin? Maybe that will be how they tell who's who in a later episode
Same with clothes. Some skrulls seem to change clothes when they transform, so would their clothes revert if you took them off?

I will say fifteen years ago Rhodey changed actors . . . .
We know that some species don't have carbon based DNA. The SHIELD coroner in Captain Marvel confirmed that Skrulls are one of them.
In the last episode Fury has that quick aside about there being more attractive Skrulls than Talos. When his wife got revealed my mind was blown
19:55 you guys don’t know Boris Yeltsin?
He might be too young
Who?
Sometimes I think they try too hard to be clever. Like, digging deep to find some semi-obscure Russian that the portrait could be instead of the obvious Yeltsin.
Talos is the emperor and it was all a set up from day one. He has been playing fury the whole time. When fury blipped it was his time to move forward with the next parts of the plan.
Hopefully. Probably not tho
It kind of makes sense if you think about how marvel adapts the story line to make it fit the story they are telling.
When fury came back it messed up his plans so he went another route. He has access to all the scrolls and was playing fury so he could have totally manipulated it all and the twist is he will be revealed as the true emperor. Even his daughter doesn't know.
i know it’s probably not an inside joke reference to it…but when Fury was talking to Rhodes about how he remembered when he use to protect the planet and i laughed so hard because when he said that it reminded me of when Don Cheadle played Captain Planet

My instant thought when I saw it as well.
Rhodes could have been kidnapped post Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or even post Endgame. still a lot of possibilities, one does not have to be a Skrull THE ENTIRE TIME

The Frost Beast actually does work with the FF connections. No they wouldn’t be able to turn invisible but maybe they’ll get the ability to turn into full ice “kinda like Iceman” and basically look “clear”. U get what I’m saying? So we’ll have a clear Skrull, a fire Skrull, a hulking Skrull, and a stretching Skrull. Could the FF movie be able the Skrulls too?

@@the_grey_phoenix yoooo it could be that too!
The only person I didn't really know as an actor coming into this was Kingsley Ben-Adir but I'm going to be sure and rectify that. He doesn't go over the top super villain. It's all very understated and very effective. The scene they kept showing in the trailers where the room of Skrulls turn into all Gravik made me think he was much more theatrical. He does a lot with a little.
What about the planet where Thanos chilled?
It's crazy cause only people that knows are Rhodey and captain marvel and hulk but he's off somewhere in a island somewhere.
One thing I thought was odd was the skrull recon team leaving Brogon on the side of the road for someone else to find. I’m wondering if he wasn’t really shot bc it was out of focus and gravik looks away right before the shot goes off. He could have shot into the open and just pushed brogan down so he fell. Wonder if he’ll come back to help the “good” side later
Kudos. That would be cool.
It was the side of the road but in their compound at the nuke plant. They left him there out of arrogance that no one who can do anything to them will find him there.
Huge green sign over War Machine while he’s talking to Fury.. might be a set up for him to be a Skrull
Also a green tinged flower between the two.
Who's to say Rhodey was only recently replaced with a scrull? He doesn't have to have been a scrull the whole time for him to be a scrull
Looks like the Skrulls learned how to replicate my mom’s station wagon from the ‘80s. I learned how to drive in a completely identical car.
What a great episode. Erik, I think Fury mentioned that his wife kicked him out in Captain America winter soldier. It was a scene where he’s in Caps apartment. Of course it made it seem like he was just saying it because he knew the room was bugged. But I think he does mention a wife in that scene. Great job keep up the good work.

I love how in that one scene that shows the 4 different dnas it takes from all corners of the mcu. It takes from recently both groot from earth and obsidians hand which was cut off. Then it goes further back into Ironman 3 in which extremus is being pulled back in. Really cool to see that they still can use old marvel content to really make the universe feel more connected by adding something that was used in 1 movie and not rementioned until now. Also the frost beast from Thor the dark world was an out of left field pick but amazing that they once again took something that was thrown away after a couple of movies and brought it back into the fold to make the universe feel bigger. Makes you think that each marvel movie is important and can be reference way later on and be put into the fold again.
