And the words on his tombstone will read,
" He did it properly. "
His tombstone will come with a killswitch on the outside
@@mortenu.5606 Jeremy: "James May, everybody. So slow he hasn't made it to the grave."
"Does that mean I'm not coming on, then?"
Just like the words on Jeremy's tombstone will read,
"How hard can it be?"
Hammond's will be: "Sorry, I have gone off."
Im honestly suprised the car even made it through that much water.
Not much to go wrong in a Caterham
It’s a caterham with a Ford engine minus the computer aids not much can go wrong
it had a snorkel
Wasn't all water though😂
@@charles_1523 no, he made no modification apart from the tires. Where are the snorkels?
And it was the only car to NOT break down a single time.
Instead James May's immune system and sanity broke down
Much like Oliver. It came in as the underdog and in no way should it have made It through...
That was obvious though, it was the only car and not a computer on wheels
@@adhpeteproductions3225 HAHAHA brilliant!
there might be some truth to his off-road principles of: 'Smallness and lightness.'
He's so passive, you can't help but feel bad for laughing at him.
Yeah lol
"I've done this properly"
famous last words
I mean he really did. It didn't breakdown a single time. If only he added some roof and side protections to keep the mud from pouring in, this car would've been perfect. It was hilarious nonetheless.
But you have to admit it was amazing that the only one that didn't have any mechanical issues was a track toy with big wheels
If May only did some modifications on the outside of his Caterham, like a glass roof and windows so he'd be protected from water and stuff, that car would've been perfect
Would a larger and longer mudflap help?
@@kayagorzan not really the car still submerged underwater so a roof will be helpful which some Caterham have actually
After he enclosed it, he should add a glass tank full of fish so he'd still get soaked.
Have to admire them taking all that punishment, just to entertain us........James had the worst go of it!
Well. Not just to entertain us. They make millions
@@curleypubes3672 yeah, but they could have chosen a place with smoother roads......easier on their aging bodies, and less enjoyable for us viewers.
@@balsumfractus Someone get me a tissue
James always gets screwed...no wonder why he's tired of Clarkson.
@@curleypubes3672 ok
Watching May just walk into the pool somehow never fails to make me laugh
He clearly is the winner. Car never broke down, he had to endure so much shit during the trip, only one who did anything about the code. James May, you won the Golden Balls this time
"The water, it's like a bath that somebody's had diarrhoea in!" I absolutely lost it that bit!
The massive hunt was a fantastic one from The Grand Tour. Can't wait for the next one.
Only 15 years to wait for the next one, now it's been filmed and edited that is!!!!
@@adamduncan6172 C'mon, it's only another 12 months...
It was terrible
@@noneofyourbusiness7594 it wasn't though
@@ElMotarino It wasnt Clarksons fault that the number plate had H982 FKL which doesn't even say Falklands or 1982 "you infantile pillock!!" (insert James May's voice here)
James 'My life has given me the gift of humility' May. You are truly a timeless international treasure, my man.
This just proves that James is probably the most stoic and awesome of the trio, in my opinion. He went through all that, in a back-wheel drive Caterham, the whole way. (Though he should have forked out for that traffic control runner.)
He also ate rotten shark and barely even flinched
Back wheel drive😂
James was properly funny in this film. I was cracking up at him in the car
Poor him. He should have a pick up truck
i like how Hammond just takes off the killswitch so easily
He's had enough accidents to know how to use one
It's supposed to easily come off
Caterham should start selling lifted offroad-ready Sevens now, as a competitor to Ariel Nomad.
Which would be awesome considering they trace their heritage back to early hill climbing Lotus cars.
and of course convertible
and ford should sell a focus on tracks
A Caterham dune buggy would be absolutely brilliant.
When Clarkson actually is gentle because of how bad May has it...
Reminds me of saving the world episode
Even saving the world was better
You mean feed the world?
@@lucaslu5125 yea
Ladies and gentlemen, behold the guy who discovered the source of the Nile
Wait what
Don't know why is everyone so unhappy with this episode. I enjoyed it. Yes, it wasn't that eventful as previous ones and a staged parts were too staged but it was kinda fun.
You literally named the reasons people didn’t like it
There are eps in season 2 that they go to place unstaged and unplaned. That eps really end up becoming a hot mess. So, yeah....
@@giomilahy because what they said was still scripted
“What if we made an unscripted episode with a script”
You just explained why people are unhappy my friend
People don’t know what they have until it’s gone. They should appreciate what they have especially seeing that all 3 are getting old and it was Covid affected.
After watching this series, I realized why I should never buy a car with no roof.
I have a peculiar habit: usually I like to share the things that I am amused by with my friends and dear ones. But none of them seems to aprecciate these lads as I do. So now I just enjoy it by myself. It's my personal thing. I like to think that, for once, James, Jeremy and Richard are the ones sharing with me their amuzing times together
you're a narcicisst
@@krebgurfson5732 you are
Same here. You are not alone!
by far one of the most impressive cars ever featured on top gear or the grand tour, probably the greatest commercial a car manufacturer could have
I love James. 😂❤ He's special.
Still cant get over how proper the bently looked.
James, the most logical of the trio, always brings the wrong car😂
May walking into the pool after all that looks like the most reliving thing ever
"It has become a single entity" xD
Honestly I think James may is the only person I’ve seen take a dune buggy mudding
That's not a dune buggy
That's a track car.
Sometimes it's tough being the man who found the source of the Nile.
I’m staggered it actually kept going
James May deserves every cent he gets from this show...
These guys work so hard for entertaining us 🥺
3:21 „give me strength!“ 😂❤️gotta love James May
Poor Bim, having to deal with all that mud.
I love how he just walks into the water like Skinner did that one time
This is like Hillclimb racing the videogame in real life
James did suffer a lot in this special
When you see the village behind you know he's not kidding when he says turds
Release all deleted footage please
Hi Craig
Just saw this special last night. I'm honestly amazed that thing didn't drown, it went through so much muddy water
This is like taking away from all your stats in dark souls and putting it in endurance.
‘Properly’ is a insult in this show!!!
This has got to be the most inappropriate car choice for a particular journey ever made. 😂
James May having a bad time in his ______ could be a entire series on it's own
The caterham was the winner in my book. Didn't break down and looks fun, apart from the mud. Only 2wd too, amazing!
James May - the hero we need.
The lesson? Always bring googles and a snap on roof.
I think May should’ve brought an Ariel Nomad or a side by side if he wanted to be open top
A place that only exists in Richard Hammond's Coloring In Books.😅😂🤣🤣
Gotta say. I liked that Bentley.
Georgo Armani arrived 😂😂😂😂😂
His immune system must be the toughest thing
Caterham for sale, low milage perfect project car
Possibly got a leech inside
Jeremy's Bentley looks so freaking cool tbh!
better than the stock
One dislike as of now,
Thats from jezza .
no, jezza would like seeing James having a bad time. the one dislike is from James May himself as he swims through a pond of turds
Would the Caterham make it through the Namibia desert in S1E7?
For once May had the best car. Love them. Caterhams that is.
One of the best episodes
You can’t replace them 4 only clone them. 😂👍
This was arguably the best car.
Me after I checked into an hotel with pool : 2:17 not going into the room first
You know if he had jury rigged at least a semi functional cabin, it wouldn’t have been to bad for him.
Is it me or have the recent specials (this and that weird fish transporting one) just been an hour of them driving through big puddles along a straight road?
Now that you mention it, yes. But does it matter? Both examples have me in stitches when I watch them.
Can't get passed the fact that it's just awesome mud and that they wouldn't make a cholera joke..
They didn't make a cholera joke but they said it was human waste. I think jeremy Clarkson said something about it
@@Sahd079 Ah he did did he, well that's near enough then ..gotta say
Now I understand why Jeremy said shark lol
I swear May is both the smartest and dumbest at the same time with his decisions
Clarckson, Hammond and May are the greatest trio of all time.
Caterham took note when he asked for a windshield back in Top Gear. Didn't help much though
I gotta say that modification on mays car is working wonderfuly 😂
It's kind of ironic how those roof headlamps look like four smiley faces 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Moral of the story: Get an enclosed cabin.
James should probably invest in a wetsuit if he's going to keep picking open-top cars
Other two played it way too safe James always does something more for the show
Wonder how sick he got after this ? 😂😂😂
Why do they make a child suffer when he wants to live in his own little world...😂😂
OMFG after more than a year since I saw that, I got the name... This is brilliant! This is honestly better than "Seamen"!
I got Prime just for the Grand Tour :3
“Yes there are sharks in there”
*I DON’T CARE!*
I really feel sorry for May. I genuinely do.
This is the inspiration for Honda S2000...just like original NSX inspiration for Maclaren F1 by Gordon Murray
Jeremy's Bentley is an engineering and artistic masterpiece
Mud covered, YES I would be face down in a pool of chlorinated water, too! 🤣🤣🤣❤️👍🏼
I miss them going back to the studio, I liked when they reviewed cars too.
I'm more impressed that it survived the ordeal
I see this as a win for James still, having the car that didn't have a catastrophic malfunction. It's the same logic as the TG limousine challenge, "The driver's been shot in the wedding vegetable but at least the car is fine."
james proved that a car from 1950s can drive anywhere without any issues unlike modern cars
True however the Bentley really impressed me.
Caterham 's are modern car's, you buy one right now built in 2023
2:13 His car is clean but May is dusty?
The place to exist in richard hammond’s colouring in books
The best thing on earth 😂
James and his Caterham made this episode!
It’s nice to see what he learned from winching in Series 1
"This is nice mate isnt it"
Followed by
"Bloody fabulous"
Couldn't be more british i swear
Caterham must’ve listened to James’ pleas. His has a windscreen
Great Episode
Amazon..... youve basically shown the entire episode already. Stop it! Lets us find out ourselves
This compilation could’ve been a lot longer 😂
If it where me I would’ve brought the Hennessy Raptor from the Hammond mountain rescue
Watch James turn the Caterman into $#&%.
(That poor car.)
One Of The Best Videos Ever Amazon All The Best Team.
Giorgio armani arrived!!!!
