What a change . I used to work in Saudi and was there when the causeway was opened used to travel back and fowards from Aziziyah , Al Khobar, Dhrahan and Dammam.

Shukran for this trip. I'm sad i couldn't go across the causeway to visit KSA. I'm German, my parents and me lived in Bahrain for about 1,5 yrs throughout the years 1983 -'85. And we knew it was under construction already and it would have been opened quite soon, but we went back home a bit too early. Also we've heard about the Bahrain University to be built about that same time as well for instance. My Dad worked for GPIC in Sitra and i went to Bahrain School from Awali, so just a quite normal life. But it also felt a bit like holiday, too. Weather, beach, culture aso...It was a wonderful time. Nowadays Manama & Muharraq has grown a lot, seeing it by Google. Hope to come back to see what all has changed...
But at least we were able to see some lights in KSA at evenings when we were at the old Bapco Beach in Zallaq, haha.... A few years ago i saw the Sofitel there. And Bahrain will ever be my 2nd home btw !
I was hoping to see more of the border area with eateries etc on both sides. Man made island sounds like one of the more interesting border crossings in the world
yes u r right ..... DHA and khobar are two different places and Dammam is another third place or town. the old airport and Araco primises called DHA.Khobar is upto Rashid mall only. Dammad is another town 25 klm frm Al Kohbar.. . please correct it.
Al-Khobar is a small town created by Aramco. Dhahran is the headquarters of Aramco, and the first well that was discovered in Dhahran was called Dammam 7. And Khobar and Dhahran are part of haadherat ad dammam (حاضرة الدمام) . So everything the man said is true
