That's surely a surprise! I was taking a look at iPhone 12 mini in the store today. I loved it, really tempted to upgrade from my XR but I'll hold out another year, I think.
Nice purchase Tom. I just upgraded to the 12 Pro from an iPhone 8. Mine seems to have survived well, it's still mint and the battery is at 86% health. But I wanted FaceID and to play with some of the stuff the latest chip can do. Really loving it so far and I'm so glad they went back to the old design. Hope you and your family are all doing well.
This iPhone 12 mini is the first phone that really makes me want to retire my iPhone 7... sadly a bit over my budget at the moment and my old phone is still incredibly reliable. But what a cute phone is it !

I can understand why they stopped including the power brick and headphones. I literally have a box full of them because I have a few 3rd party cords that I use on a daily basis and I haven't needed a new one for years. I've also got the wireless charger next to my bed and I have never used apples earpod things. I absolutely hate them. I've been using my Powerbeats Pro since their release date and before that, the powerbeats 3. I just like how they wrap around my ears and don't fall out.
Time flies! Hard to believe the 8 and even the X are older devices now, but the return of the flat edges is nice. The mini is definitely cool though, it’s nice to see them make smaller devices again!
Interesting, I upgraded to a 13mini last year when it was clear the Apple def didn't wouldn't revive the mini form factor again (unless maybe with the SE 4th but who knows) and I'm def intending to keep that one at least until 2026/7 or later :D

I also went for the 64gb, coming from a 32gb iphone 7 where i didn't struggle for storage after using it for two years, i think it's more than enough especially with iCloud. Not a phone gamer and stream most of my content.
@@matjgnacio it’s good man, I have been overthinking it a lot though and find myself on the fence if an extra 50 euro is worth it to double the storage, even if I don’t need it. Currently with iCloud photos I have used about 22.5gb all together. I honestly think it’s fine, I’m just very ocd about certain things!
Great video - congrats on the new phone. I have the 5s now, but will need to upgrade at some point since my carrier will no longer support it on their network. I am looking at either the SE or the Mini since I am of your same mind and like to keep my phone in my pocket when I am out and about. Also, good choice to go with a case, I use the Otterbox cases. While they do cover up the beauty of the iPhone, they do a great job of protecting it. I also enjoy the "chunky" feel.
Both the SE and 12 mini are incredible. Like I said in the video, I would've definitely gone for the SE, but I just fancied a change in design. The SE is also quite a bit cheaper and does everything I would need........ but this 12 mini is really nice.
Is the price likely to drop considerably next year in Aus? It will be a no brainer 2021 upgrade for loads of people in my opinion once it's a bit more affordable. It's such a great device.
I think if i was unfortunate enough to have to use an iPhone the mini is quite a good deal , its the only good mini phone out there. Grats tho mate , if you like iPhone you got a good one there. I do like they are going back to the iphone 5 design, i did like that design.
i use after market chargers and cables. I charge faster than with the apple usb c charger i am using anker chargers : ) i am still rocking a iPhone 11 Pro tho
I must be completely honest, the iPhone 8 felt very snappy all the way through. Using the 12 obviously feels snappier, but the 8 was still very capable in my opinion.
@@ItsMyNaturalColour Oh, I see. I was saying that as I have a Galaxy Note8 with quite a bit of input lag. I did get the battery replaced, which resulted in the issue happening less often. I have videos of the issue in action, but via a screen recording, and a friend of mine told me that it could be due either to the RAM or internal storage dying.

Nice video! Shame UK hasn't forced apple to supply this with a charger like some European countries have. The 'environmental' shtick is a lie. Or at best, poorly thought out. You now have two separate boxes that have their own packaging and plastic that then need to be shipped and transported instead of just one. And as you rightly said, the 'you already have one of these chargers' argument does not stand seeing as this is a pretty new, if not totally new charger.
Ahh yes, good old Apple, introducing the "ALL NEW, iPHONE 12" ..... with the old design of the iPhone 4...... and the same ALL NEW hideous price tag to go with the brand new, old designed phone.... not sure why people go for these personally. Why would you pay a big chunk of money for a so called "New iPhone" when it has more or less the exact same design of an iPhone from 10 years ago... and the internal upgrade specs don't really make it worth the price tag from say an X/XS or 11. Each to their own of course, but I certainly won't be upgrading to an iPhone 12, and definitely not buying one outright in cash, seems like another Apple ripoff to me, and no, I like apple products, I'm not a samsung fanboy, I'm writing this on a Mac mini, wearing an Apple watch.... but I can't stand it when companies skimp and save on design costs yet still charge extortionate prices, the customer's paying more for less work effectively. I'm currently using an iPhone 11, not the pro, or the max, just the standard 11, nothing wrong with it, and although similar to you, I don't like it in a case, as my current case is an all-covering case protecting front, back and both sides and top and bottom, which makes it very chunky on an otherwise thin and lightweight phone, i've had it since January this year and there's not a mark on it, i've dropped it a few times on the floor, even on pavements on the street, again, not a mark on it, no chance of being able to say the same thing on a non-cased phone. I also have a 2020 iPad Pro, 12.9 4th Gen cellular 128GB model, I hate paying the monthly premium of around £18, but when my previous 2019 model iPad (64GB, Wifi + Cellular) was damaged, and couldn't be repaired, for an excess fee of £50 the insurers replaced my 2019 model iPad with the newest 2020 model which at the time of purchase was worth in excess of £1,100. All for a one off fee of £50 plus £18 a month which covers my phone too, it was a lifesaver then!

Nice phone! I just picked up the a blue 12 mini as well in the 128GB capacity. It’s a great color and such a nice size in a world of giant phones.

I just got the iPhone se 2020 64gb. It’s ok apart from the battery is a bit naff... iPhone 12 us a bit too high end for me!
8:30 12 mini is 13 grams lighter than iPhone 8. It’s heavier because you have a case on it lol

If you don't crack the screen. That phone could last for years if you get the battery serviced every 2-3 years.
