Tip 1, pull the wires of the new pickup through to the control cavity, would've gave you more room to work, and you're gonna have to pull them through eventually when you make a permanent connection. Tip 2, alligator clips are your friend! I always test my connections before soldering with alligator clips. Hope this helps!
aint that the truth . ive notice deans from dif factorys do things dif had one i could not evan get the 59 and the bill Lawrence through the route drill holes some are better than others lol. i did notice all my import Washburn Dimes no prob at all.
i was curious on the mirror it acrylic i see from the pickup route. another thing do a googkle search for pickup wiring thers a picture of all the dif pups and how to wire them and what wires go were not all pups are the same when it comes to wiring.
thank you for going through this process, love to see it! been wanting to get one of these fakes but cant seem to find any on aliexpress, any specific sellers on there that you could point me towards?
Thanks for watching. I got this one from Historic Guitar Store. I used to see them listed everywhere but for some reason I dont anymore. Shoot them a message and maybe they will make you one if they dont have any left.
Can't go wrong with a dimebucker, seriously good pickups! That was a very over complicated way of wiring it in though woulda personally de-soldered the old wires and run it straight in even if all the gubbins are gettin swapped out but... seeing it done that way is very good for excessively short leads when the will to extend them isnt there. Great stuff, cant wait to see the rest of the progress
I brought the exact same guitar . I changed the tuners to chrome ones the switch to chrome with white tip and the strap locks to chrome plus the speed knobs . I also put a l500 xl in it and set it up had to file the nut slot down as it sits very heigh
@@Killahead. check out dhgate bro iv e been lurking and wanting a southern cross wass thinking of doing a cracked mirror myself but i cant do that to a vintage Washburn Dime a dean i could prob do it prob cost me more thanthe china ones are lol but i did find out that you can order them as a husk no electroinc and no hardware at leasrt from the seller i was talking to.
Yeah I have a video in the works but people who like to sell parts and not ship them are holding things up. Then I broke a potentiometer, ordered the wrong one and now Im waiting on another one and it SHOULD be here tomorrow. If I have time I can get it posted lol
When I wired mine in the guitar I used had solder-less connectors and I had a helluva time figuring out how to wire it lmao. It called for the ground to be connected to the 3 way switch but I just ground it to the bridge ground and it works just as good. But now the cut off doesn’t work on the switch it’s just goes between bridge with neck, to bridge or neck.

That Dimebucker SCREAMS! I'm in the middle of upgrading a Chazorback and the upgrades cost almost as much as the guitar!

Where'd you get yours? I see them on websites but they're the Washburn version and not the Dean style version like this one.

It's not a coil tap. It's for coil splitting. Definitely not the same thing at all
Cool guitar man!
Update for this guitar? Looking to get one and do similar upgrades
