To me it seemed like they weren't making it. We all have to make those judgment calls when were out in the lineup. But i love when ppl say muppet like that idk why we dont in US. Heck could be my SoCal surfing with a million ppl everywhere mentality tho, would love to hear your perspective on that or anyone else.
Well Jordy dropped in once. The guy clearly wasn't making the section. Then Dale dropped in the second time. Guy clearly wasn't making that section either. There's dropping in and there's dropping in. If the surfer up and riding clearly has no chance of getting to where you're taking off on the wave, assuming you hadn't dropped in, well I'm all for it. Judgement call. On these 2 occasions, the surfer on the inside ewas going nowhere. So fair play to Jordy and Dale.
Looks like such a fun wave to surf. I remember it well from the orginal movie back in 1965 the first year that I ever surfed. I miss those days.
Bruce here. I started surfing in Panama in the same year. I was 14. A beach named after me, wow, I had no idea ha ha.
Has that wave ever been as good as it was in The Endless Summer? Never...Hynson saw the light.

Not a speck of sand left. There looks to be even less sand than 30 years ago, and it was rock then!

To be fair, isn’t the point of a cutback to stay “in the curl” of the wave? Pretty classic manuvre in surfing.
The pro’s do tend to have cookie cutter styles.
