It’ll be the perfect addition to the game if they can add the Flying Cloud as a mean of travel in game. I know we’re probably be playing as a clone of Sun Wukong, but would be so epic. After all, Wukong without the flying cloud is like Batman without the Batmobile 🥹
It's worth noting that the main character of Black Myth Wukong might not even be Sun Wukong. In the very first gameplay trailer, the monkey protagonist was confronted by what appeared to be the real Wukong, since he was wielding the staff "Ruyi Jingu Bang", which is Wukong's signature staff. The narrator in the trailer also states that he was telling a different story that people have not heard of, so it's likely that the "myth" part of the game's name is a completely different take on the classic noval Journey to the West. And based on what the NPCs in the game have said so far, we only know the protagonist to be known as "the chosen one" or "the prophesised one"
I think someone on the Internet explained that the story background of this game took place after the Monkey King learned the scriptures, and then the heaven was captured by monsters. The protagonist was just a hair of the Monkey King, because the Monkey King in The Journey to the West's original work had a spell to turn his hair into a person.
It probably wukong clone we're playing as. Hence we can change clothes and whatever. I'm sure in the end we're playing as the real wukong with set equipment.

something like the spell to immobilize your enemy now and then is quite game-changing (pun intended, haha). it allows the developers to design bosses that are just as agile as you are (or even more agile), without worrying that they're too fast for the player to handle. This will give a refreshing experience compared to the usual boss fights in which the bosses are made to be a bit clumsier, slower, less responsive etc than the player character just so the player has a chance to take the boss out

It took awhile for me to accept that this game was real. It seemed WAAAAY too good to be true, and more of a myth that would never come to be. Now that people are actually getting hands on, my god…. The hype is overwhelming
@BobaVett Because the developer was Chinese. I’ve read countless dismissing comments, calling the demos bluff, copycat, will never release, etc. The usual knee jerk reaction. Now that journalists and public have finally put their hands on the demo at the Gamescom, there’s a healthier vibe around the game. I’m glad for it.
@@Cafeston It definitely seemed like something that would sort of just disappear after awhile, with little to no updates. Especially given that the initial trailer was like a proof of concept requesting development help to finish it. I absolutely stayed optimistic and wished it success, but early on, it was difficult to accept that it was actually coming. I am absolutely relieved that people are playing it now and it’s well under development and is coming our way. Could not be happier!

@@SunnySzetoSz2000 you could freely choose what bosses you wanted to fight or beat. Let’s say u beat 1 and 2 but struggled with 3 you could quit to the menu and fight and beat the 4th boss to get the three beaten bosses together for the shirt.
Correct me, it’s not the fire monkey, it’s a mission before the boss battle. WuKong can gain his transformation ability after defeating the sword wolf boss, because the Monkey King has 72 transformation abilities, so WuKong can transform into more polymorphic
It’s rumoured that if you finished the bosses fast enough you can unlock their second forms, that’s true for the macaque, not sure about thr rest tho. That’s really cool for people with different skill levels 😮
By far the best impressions video I’ve seen so far. So many IGN type videos of a guy just saying “it was fun” for five minutes. Your video actually has a ton of new info on the game mechanics. The only thing I’m still wondering is if you build up that meter in the bottom right and then can perform a super? Also, what are the differences between the stances.
standing staff stance can make you in the air to avoid some attack and smash back, poke stance can push boss back at a distance when face some boss like rushing.
I played it once, cleared 3 bosses, but then came back and played again to clear the 4th boss. The game looks amazing and feels amazing. I’ve been hyped about it since the first trailers and I’m so happy that I got to test the game.
Nice! When I was fighting the tiger boss I accidentally dodged that stone skin invisibility attack he had and managed to kill him lmao. Also when I got the second shirt and took a photo of it, people were telling me it was white and gold :/. Brought back memories of that dress fr.
I hope the Journal section in the menu is the bestiary of every enemy you fought in the game. I love when games got those cuz it fleshes out the world more

It is a bestiary. Each time you beat a new type of enemy you will get a notification on the right saying something just got updated. And i have seen clips of people showing that bestiary with detailed background stories for each type.

LOVING that people are saying so many positive things about this game. This is one of my most anticipated games in a long time, and it would absolutely break my heart if it didn't release with the quality we've been seeing so far. Definitely a day-1 buy for me!

@@rindo703 The game some elements of exploration and hidden paths so it’s restricted to just boss zones. But I do believe it will take a bit of time to complete due to the challenge of combat. Veterans of these types of games shouldn’t be too worried though.
The stone skin mechanic that he mentioned was first implemented into a souls like by (Mortal Shell) a pretty decent souls like which has a great look to it but it also has its own unique look and feel. I liked it and instead of it being called rock skin its call hardening that game. 😊👍
Is there a big focus on parry (I love Sekiro as well and am just waiting for another title to implement a similiar system but it doesnt seem to ever happen lol)? Seems like the animations would make that hard to time, so assuming dodge and roll is more the focus?
It's safe to say the majority of players are hyped for this game. I expect it to do very well. My grouse throughout the years is that it's been taking too long to release.
Taking too long is mostly due to the illusion of "Producing 3A games takes 2 to 3 years." But that's what those big studios with a full 3A production line. For a brand new ip with no previous games and reusable resources is extremely time consuming, not to mention the polishing if we want game in a good shape. So I'd say it is reasonable to take this long.
This game certainly caught my eye, but as someone who’s never been too good at games like this (or most games period tbh) I might not bother with it. Kinda sad as a fan of the Journey to the West and Wukong stuff in general.
It’s story driven rpg and I saw a clip where someone interviewed a girl who’s a first time player for souls like game. She managed to get over 2 bosses. So I imagine it’s not super hard.
I've seen people saying the difficulty level is dynamically changed. take that monkey boss for example, if you're able to get his health down to half within 1min, it will turn into phase 2 which is more aggressive and with new abilities. but if you are new to the game and couldnt get his health low enough it will stay in phase 1.
There are multiple difficulty settings though: Per IGN: "The playtime of Black Wind Mountain is planned to be 30 to 60 minutes on normal difficulty. It will be one of the game's earlier levels." They wouldn't call out normal difficulty if there wasn't multiple difficulties.
Well, of course it’s not the exact same. It’s a new franchise, from a completely different studio, so the game obviously has its own identity. However, if you ever played From Software game’s, you can see a huge influence in this one, specially from Elden Ring and Sekiro. There’s nothing wrong about it tho, both won the GOTY award and were massively praised for a reason. They will inevitably be a huge inspiration for the industry for a long time, either you like it or not lol
You should do some more research on Chinese culture. It’s not a katana. Japanese swords originated from China. If you’re too lazy to read, just call it a sword. Don’t have to call it a katana smh.
hopefully there is a demo, people tend to call games "soulslike" too easily just for the clickbait, but there are many great games out there that some people consider "soulslike" when they're not and they're actually great, because they are not really like souls at all

Thaks god that you can turn off damgw numbers, it's just so much more clean without them i mostly find it annoying. Thanks for your impressions, the game looks pretty dope with potential to be great. They did mainly show boss fights but I'd like to see more of the regular world and enemies as well.

And I found some gameplay on youtube if you look around, and it seems wukong will be able to take the different forms of some enemies he defeats, and sometimes that means using their weapon as well. I saw some gameplay where this enemy with a flaming twin blade was defeated then wukong turned into him and used his weapon/attacks in the next fight. Very interesting mechanic
I was at Gamescom on Sunday sadly I didn't went there for 2 reason one because of the long line and second because I thought inside is just gameplay to show like in section in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.

72 is his abilities. Transformation is one of ðe 72 abilities. He can transform into anyþing, however many times he wants.

It is a bestiary. Each time you beat a new type of enemy you will get a notification on the right saying something just got updated. And i have seen clips of people showing that bestiary with detailed background stories for each type.

Do you know if it will take a long time to progress the game or can it be completed super quickly. Or where you only restricted to fight the bossed
@@rindo703 The game some elements of exploration and hidden paths so it’s restricted to just boss zones. But I do believe it will take a bit of time to complete due to the challenge of combat. Veterans of these types of games shouldn’t be too worried though.

There are total 4 bosses in the demo there and l believe only 2 people out of all managed to clear all of them and won a little reward for it.
The stone skin mechanic that he mentioned was first implemented into a souls like by (Mortal Shell) a pretty decent souls like which has a great look to it but it also has its own unique look and feel. I liked it and instead of it being called rock skin its call hardening that game. 😊👍

Is there a big focus on parry (I love Sekiro as well and am just waiting for another title to implement a similiar system but it doesnt seem to ever happen lol)? Seems like the animations would make that hard to time, so assuming dodge and roll is more the focus?
It's safe to say the majority of players are hyped for this game. I expect it to do very well.
My grouse throughout the years is that it's been taking too long to release.
GTA games takes even longer but normally more time for developers equals a better game most of the time.
Taking too long is mostly due to the illusion of "Producing 3A games takes 2 to 3 years." But that's what those big studios with a full 3A production line. For a brand new ip with no previous games and reusable resources is extremely time consuming, not to mention the polishing if we want game in a good shape. So I'd say it is reasonable to take this long.
This game certainly caught my eye, but as someone who’s never been too good at games like this (or most games period tbh) I might not bother with it. Kinda sad as a fan of the Journey to the West and Wukong stuff in general.
It’s story driven rpg and I saw a clip where someone interviewed a girl who’s a first time player for souls like game. She managed to get over 2 bosses. So I imagine it’s not super hard.
We still can watch and enjoy the full gameplay and story telling like a movie.. and maybe you can decide after that whether to try playing

Probably no different difficulties, but it’s surely easier than most Soul games
I've seen people saying the difficulty level is dynamically changed. take that monkey boss for example, if you're able to get his health down to half within 1min, it will turn into phase 2 which is more aggressive and with new abilities. but if you are new to the game and couldnt get his health low enough it will stay in phase 1.

Well, of course it’s not the exact same. It’s a new franchise, from a completely different studio, so the game obviously has its own identity. However, if you ever played From Software game’s, you can see a huge influence in this one, specially from Elden Ring and Sekiro. There’s nothing wrong about it tho, both won the GOTY award and were massively praised for a reason. They will inevitably be a huge inspiration for the industry for a long time, either you like it or not lol

hopefully there is a demo, people tend to call games "soulslike" too easily just for the clickbait, but there are many great games out there that some people consider "soulslike" when they're not and they're actually great, because they are not really like souls at all

Sun Wukong has a signature weapon, a golden hooped iron rod. I can’t imagine there will be any other weapons available

And I found some gameplay on youtube if you look around, and it seems wukong will be able to take the different forms of some enemies he defeats, and sometimes that means using their weapon as well. I saw some gameplay where this enemy with a flaming twin blade was defeated then wukong turned into him and used his weapon/attacks in the next fight. Very interesting mechanic

I was at Gamescom on Sunday sadly I didn't went there for 2 reason one because of the long line and second because I thought inside is just gameplay to show like in section in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.
