Still can't believe Benicio Del Toro DIDN'T get nominated for an Oscar. His performance in Sicario still haunts me, much like the film.
His CHARACTER and presence was great. But he was actually just being held-back, silent, menacing, ghostly. So his performance in itself wasn't oscar worthy I think.
Just a great actor, role, script and movie
Your so right. What a fucking load of shit. How man guys could play someone so cool and mysterious in every scene. It's not normal to be so good at acting that intriguing the audience is as simple as having an exhausted look on your face. I don't believe Bencico has had a better role.
Del Toro great in:
1. Storming the drug lord residence.
2. Scene with Emily Blunt (land of the wolves)
@@morten1 He should get an oscar for "Ché Guevara" but as it's not very pro US, it was impossible to happen because not politicly correct.. Too bad.
@@EliasGaming804 Sicario isn’t very pro-US either, though. It leaves you asking a lot of questions about the integrity of the CIS and it’s mission. For me the whole point of the movie is that Kate’s simple good guy/bad guy perception of the world gets shattered and she realizes there are only shades of gray. In a sense she was the only true “good guy” in the movie. I feel like a really important moment is when the kingpin asks Alejandro “who do you think we learned it from?” as a reminder that the CIA regularly uses terrorist tactics. The movie doesn’t praise or glorify anything, it’s just a beautifully compelling look at an ugly reality and that’s why I love it.
Benicio Del Toro is so freaking sexy to me. I don't know what it is about him, but I love that man.

Damn, did nobody read the book before the movie came out. lol I knew exactly who the Sicario was and what was happening the whole time. I read the book my last two days in jail after a 180 days sentence. I also read the book "The Lone Survivor" about mid way my stay in County and right when I got out I seen it was actually going to be a movie and it was coming out the up coming Friday and was like fuck yeah I his see it. lol I had no clue they were making either into movie's. even though Sicario came out around a year later.
