As most see this as kind of a sad song about losing someone, I see it about gaining someone and spending your life with them until the end. When I first met my wife, we were both in really bad places in our life and were pretty on and off. We’d meet up at midnight most nights and drive around with this kind of sadness over us but still with each other and something about the lyrics to this song just bring me back to those nights and it makes me so thankful that we made it this far and have a beautiful family together. I wouldn’t change a thing.
