Much appreciated! I also found the "Random Swatches Fill" script very useful to, well, randomly choose shapes! hahaha I use the script to add random colors to the selected shapes beforehand. So, just select a single shape, do Select > Same > Fill Color and just then making the substituions... much better than choosing one by one :D

you should say "all color squares must be EXACTLY in "Swatches" tab. for randomswatchesfill.js other swatch tabs won't work. to understand this I lost a month. hope this trick will help someone.

Not working for me on Illustrator CC 2019 v23.1 ... I was able to get a different script "Random objects selection" which allowed me to select a given % of a group of objects, so I used that instead to individually recolor each randomly selected 16% subsection of my design into 6 colors.

Make sure you add the scripts at the rigth directory, and restart your illustrator if you already open.

What a Tutorial!! Excellent!!!
U can at firs apply random swatches script. After that select one color and use "select - same fill color" to select random circles

You can use Fillinger Script from Alexander Ladygin, It's much easier. Check this tutorial
