WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT!!!!! I bought a set of spin fits after watching this video. I haven't been able to get a good seal without pain with any of the tips I've tried so far. The spin fits gave me a good seal with no pain!!!
I'm surprised you still have your EX1000, I though you sold it a long time ago. I haven't tried SpinFits yet, but of all the tips I've tried, the JVC Spiral Dots are my favourite in terms of sound and comfort. However, they're only an option for wide nozzles (which are most of my earphones). Sony Hybrids are a mixed bag for me: comfortable but sometimes gets too slippery and can make some earphones a tad bit too dark (due to the narrow bore, I think). I only really use them on my XBA-H1 (I actually really like it a lot, contrary to your review). It's a bit expensive for few bits of silicone, but I'll try them when I get them at a discount. Also, Fuwa Fuwa Time spotted.
Lachlan, have you given thought to giving your review/opinion on the Philips FIdelio X2? I recall you encountered it in one of your videos close to a year ago.
This was the first video I ever watched about Spinfits when researching them for my Vsonic GR07 and VSD3S, and really like these eartips still to this day. This video's introduction really left an impression on me. Even four years later, I still remember it and come back to watch it from time to time. Same thing with the Stax LR300 and the SR002 videos. Super memorable.
3:13 ROFLOL!!! I almost died laughing! Hysterical! Man, your videos only get better and better every time! 10:05 a Pro Tip! Haha! Nice! Nice review Lachlan! I look forward to your review of the VSonic VSD5S!
5:35 they lower the sound. I just bought some Comply foam tips and they really enhance the bass and not the bass is up there with the mids and treble. They sound like totally different earbuds. I'm very happy I got them !!
Between the spinfits, jvc spiral dots and ortofon tips, I prefer the ortofon tips for seal, comfort and balanced sound. For me, the spinfits dial back the bass too much but are really comfortable while accentuating the highs. The jvc spiral dots are nearly as comfortable but tend to accentuate the bass quite a bit which can be really nice if you want to feel the rumble, but gets fatiguing fast for me. The only caveat with the ortofon tips is that the sizing is weird where the large is really a standard medium. Of course everyone's preferences and mileage will vary in one way or another.
The ability to diddle these tips produces better fit into ear canal hence probably deeper insertion into the ear canal reducing effect (bone conduction effect). Therefore, they sounds softer and crispier.
Every eartip changes the sound, even the sizes changes it. What is the best eartip? The one which is comfortable to your ear and sounds good to you. I added a comply to a 10 bucks earphone which was sounding decent. Comply simply screwed it up, by changing the response to something bad.
I finally found a tip that I could use when I found Spinfit. I tried pretty much everything on the market but for some reason kept avoiding trying the Spinfits...what can say, I'm a total tosser :-) The Spinfits are just amazing for my use. I use theCP800 on my Shure SE535 IEMs for playing live. Bottom line, best sounding, most comfortable tips ever. I was about to go with custom earmolds before I found the Spinfits as I couldn't find a tip that didn't cause me pain and constantly fall out. Both problems were solved with this product. Give them a go for sure, I love them.
@@joseluisbonillat.3211 Hi Jose, I use the CP 800. They also work with my Shure SE 425's. Be careful with sizing; I have the Large size. Spinfit's website is a good place to start.
@@grahammitchell5444 Hi, thank you very much for answering. I have a question, the long size you have from spinfit is the same size as the long size of the shure 425.? I casually want those eartips for my shure 425 and etymotic er4xr. I use the Medium silicone size that comes by default in my shure, but I don't know what size to buy from spinfit
@@joseluisbonillat.3211 Jose, measure the width of the base of your current tips (the widest point) and choose the appropriate one from Spinfit's site; they give all the measurements. The CP 800 works with both the Shure and the ETY because the stems of both IEMs are a similar length and width. My CP 800 in Large corresponds to the width of the largest silicon tip that came with the SE 325. Hope this helps.
Hi Lachlan!! I highly recommend you try the RHA MA750's! I just got them and they have some really tight bass. They have a slightly warm tonal character over neutral, a little bit, not overly shimmery treble, and some decent mids that are not too recessed.
The Spinfit degraded my Shure SE535 quite much. That provides pretty comforting wearing experience. But the sound quality and performance changed a lot. Here is the sum up: - Treble has almost gone and blurry. - The mid was sweet, close, warm but definitive. And very appealing! That is the best part of Shure SE535. But now, it is blurry. A bit cold. And echo like I'm at the entrance of a cave. - The bass is a lot richer and flatter. But less powerful. It used to be: - crystal cleat - detail - rich I feel like the earphone has been turned from Shure SE535 to become Koss the Plug...
Great video! I have a vast amount of eartips, and i have been looking at the spinfits but was not sure they would justify their price, might have to reconsider them again!
Good taste in IEMs Lachlan ;) I've owned the EX600 and found my signature in the MDR-7550 (of the same family, of 16mm dynamic driver iems, these have a linear signature but reduced treble and more bass presence), but I think the EX1000 may be the ultimate. Fit has always been a bit of any issue. The 600 and 1000 come with many tips, the 7550 only with 3 sets (all hybrid) so will definitely look into the Spinfits. Great video as always!
I'd love to diddle my tips, but I fear I may get strange looks. As you may remember, I bought a pair of these from Penon Audio during the livestream. They may take a while to arrive, but I'm keen to see what they can do for me. I love my IM02s to death, so a further upgrade is quite exciting. I've already bought an aftermarket braided cable for them that I prefer over the stock one. I hope that any sound changes are a welcome one. I will let you know my thoughts after I've used the SpinFits for a bit!
I am looking to upgrade to the IM02 if you are familiar to the ckr9LTD/ckr10 or audio technica e40 could you give me a comparison? I'm either thinking of the IM02 or the Fidue A83. My whole thing is clarity and a singing right in your ear vocals and I hear the IM02's are extremely good at that.
I can't give a comparison between the IM02 and those other earphones, as I haven't tried them. But I can say that the IM02 does indeed have excellent clarity and a slightly mid-forward sound. It is fairly analytical, and the bass is more natural and less punchy, but with great speed and precision.
Strange because for my part I found that the spinfit added also some bass to the im-02. It must be probably because I never get a good seal before. And still today I still find I'm too stupid to be able to fit them correctly in my ear canals and I often readjust them. Also I like the figurines use for the focus change.

Currently using my XBA A2s with the Sony Hybrid Green, should I change it to Spinfit cp100 medium? It's not that I don't like the Sony Hybrid Green ear tips, it's degrading (some torn at the joint between the top and bottom).
Tip rolling is extremely personal. I know that the spinfits are all the craze, and have been for quite a while, but I personally hated them. My favourite tips are usually different for different IEMs, but usually my absolute favourite ones are the Fidue stock dual flange tips as they are the most comfortable for my ear shape.
Well, your describe of this eartips looks very intriguing, because I always changed my eartips much faster, than iems - there's no perfect pairing, imho. And it would be very interesting to take a look at vsd5s first, especially in compare with gr07, gr07 be and vsd5. And, who knows, xba-h or a3 also. Thank you.
Great video! Just ask something, in my country, there are 2 type spinfit. Universal and JDM (japan domestic market) ver. I am little confused, what is the difference of them? it is same? because i gonna buy it
I think I bought the wrong size, large instead of medium. Compared to comply ear tips, they have no isolation, reduced bass quantity, recessed mids but i would say more detailed highs but can sound splashy and hurts my ears on my AT IM70 :( why why why very dissapointed
Hi Lachlan, Love your videos! I was wondering if you could help me with sizing of the spinfits. I'm looking to purchase a pair but I wasn't sure what size to get. Currently, I'm using the medium silicon tips included with the ATH IM-02 and they seal pretty well. Based on that, do you think you could give me a recommendation? Thanks!
I had the RHA T10i and tried the EX1000s extensively before and they are totally different in terms of sound. If you are looking for clarity and treble don;t even look at the t10is because they don't offer anything close to that. They have great bass and decent clarity but not anything special. If u listen to lots of EDM or bassy music, then they are a great option. The EX1000s on the other hand are revealing and clean. They have a wide soundstage while offering supreme clarity in the mids and treble. However I heard they cause fatigue over time and is not really great for outdoor use. My personal driver right now are the AT IM02s due to their great vocal performance and smoothness, but I do find fitting to be a problem, after trying out 4 pairs of tips, the spinfits were the best and the ones I use today.
I have a question. I currently have a pair of bose soundtrue in ears, they are meant for people who run and or workout so they have a very comfortable and firm fit. However they were designed to be "open back" I guess you can say, because it fits the work out design. I also have some nice bassy v-moda m-100's, which are semi open back and have lots of noise bleed. I want some earphones that I can take to school. So my question is, what are the best sound isolating earphones or IEM's that have a nice tight bass and overall edgy sound for pop, rock, dubstep etc. My price range is under 200$. I would really be happy for anyones informed opinion.
Dunu dn-1000. It seems like you want something fun and that's just that. A hybrid with a balance, accurate while also having a wide sound stage. It's bass level is also up to par for bass heads since you like dubstep.
one tip for getting a good seal on these are getting the comply t-500's or even spinfit, personally I use the jvc fx8 tips. Have a go for the out of box ones but they did not work for me.
hi lachlan...i currently own the audio technica e40's and i somehow feel i need more detail in what i'm listening...i also find the bass on some tracks to be a little bit too much it's not overbearing but maybe little less focus on bass and more on mids and highs would be better...would the spinfits come close to achieving this? thanks
Just trying the spinfits now, I DO feel like they reduce the mid bass / bass, but for some reason they seem to make them sound a little less clear. That said its worth a try to see if you like the change, since its much cheaper than buying a new pair of earphones!
i'll see if i can get some to try out...i like the e40s coming from soundmmagic e10s they are a big step up but if it had more mids and highs and less bass then they would be perfect....have you tried some of the mandarines hybrids?
Ferisalgue I suggest giving the Westone silicone star tips a try. Not only did it improve the comfort of my se425, but also increased the treble slightly. It also improved noise isolation .
great review. I own a pair of Jaybird X2 Bluetooth buds. They have a large (6.5mm) nozzle. I have tried a number of different tips (stock silicon, Comply foams, triple flange) with little success in achieving isolation. Is there any one out there who has tried these with Jaybirds?
+Paul Nesa I tried SpinFits and Complys. But both do nothing to improve the sound. Spiral Dots is a class above because it has an effect similar to rifling. It sort of releases any congestion from the sound from the nozzle towards your ear canal. Spiral Dots is the gold standard.
"Among those that walk the Earf." I love Aussies.
This is the eartip solution I never knew I needed until now!

yeah lachlan should give us the impression of IM50 with SpinFit eartips
it sound just like normal silicone tips, but with similar isolation of foam tips
Nathan Yim it would probably have the same effect it had on the im02. It may decrease the mid bass and increase the highs

How are the MDR EX1000s and IM250 compared to the RHA T10is, if you have ever tried them. I use those right now but I may plan on upgrading.
I'm afraid I haven't tried them yet >:
It's bass level is also up to par for bass heads since you like dubstep.
wow these look like they're just right for me. I never even heard of that brand before. THANKS!
one tip for getting a good seal on these are getting the comply t-500's or even spinfit, personally I use the jvc fx8 tips. Have a go for the out of box ones but they did not work for me.
Grapejam okay, I'm definitely gonna look into these tips. thanks again
hi lachlan...i currently own the audio technica e40's and i somehow feel i need more detail in what i'm listening...i also find the bass on some tracks to be a little bit too much it's not overbearing but maybe little less focus on bass and more on mids and highs would be better...would the spinfits come close to achieving this? thanks
Just trying the spinfits now, I DO feel like they reduce the mid bass / bass, but for some reason they seem to make them sound a little less clear. That said its worth a try to see if you like the change, since its much cheaper than buying a new pair of earphones!
i'll see if i can get some to try out...i like the e40s coming from soundmmagic e10s they are a big step up but if it had more mids and highs and less bass then they would be perfect....have you tried some of the mandarines hybrids?
in case you're wondering which one they are:

What is tomoko doing on your desk? Great video!
+jms209 Tomoko do what Tomoko do
Hello, l ask you,l have two carry apply a new AKG by harman N-40 very satisfied but the ear tip are not good.there to pass that spinfit?
+Zeegelaar Schilderwerken I use spinfits with the n40, I like them more than the original tip!
thanks
So w the ex1000 you’re using cp100 or 800?
Reeeeaaaallly want to try these on my Flare audio R2pros.
how about make a video for the comparison of the eartips? like the comply, spinfit, sony hybrid, monster etc.. =)
would this be better than foam tips? I switched my SE425 for Foam tips but its not that confortable :(
Ferisalgue I suggest giving the Westone silicone star tips a try. Not only did it improve the comfort of my se425, but also increased the treble slightly. It also improved noise isolation .
Hi, can you review the Ve Monk earbud? or anything from Veclan .They are living up to the hype recently,
I second this.
can you recommend a better over headphone under $500... I'm looking for a very good sound quality "hi-fi" and noise cancellation
You could probably try the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless.
Which Spinfit Eartips' size (100 or 800) be good for the GR07?
CP100 fits, confirmed.
Thank you my friend.
Still find my sony hybrids for gr07 to be the best after trying spinfit. But it could be just me getting used to the hybrids for too long.
Anyone tried this on TFZ Balance 1's?
great review. I own a pair of Jaybird X2 Bluetooth buds. They have a large (6.5mm) nozzle. I have tried a number of different tips (stock silicon, Comply foams, triple flange) with little success in achieving isolation. Is there any one out there who has tried these with Jaybirds?
I love the diddling
Tip rollers wow.
the only eartip we need is a Spiral Dot from JVC. Try it.
What's the effect on sound for each one. I'm trying to decide between the spirals and spinfits. My main thing is clarity and sound isolation.
