Henning May is the singer with the deep voice. The name of the band is a combination of the names of the members of the band AnneMAYkanterheit. The Giant Rooks are the other band. I love both of them. 😊
My family and I have been listening to AnnenMayKantereit for years now. They actually are pretty well known here in germany for a long time and it makes me really happy that they finally get more recognition. Maybe listen to more songs from them, even though most of them are in german, the vocals are just sooo good!
You have it backwards. Hemming May from AnnenMayKantereit is the gentlemen with the deep bass voice, the other singer is Frederik Rabe from Giant Rooks. Part of both of each band is playing in the rooms while they sing.
I love the genuine reaction of you showing your friend something you really enjoy for the first time. The way you look over at him after every line is amazing, good vid Caleb
NYC based Suzanne Vega is the original writer / performer. I first heard her perform Tom’s Diner Live in a Buffalo bar in the mid 1980s. It was released a few years after that on her second album. Then a band called DNA created the first cover / dance remix ( also had trumpet, I believe) ... followed by more ! There’s a whole album of Tom’s Diner covers, & I just saw another one randomly yesterday on Instagram. Now I can’t remember the page but I tagged Suzanne in a comment so she’d see it. Thought she’d get a kick out of it. If she responds, then I’ll be reminded of where I saw it haha !
The original was done by Suzanne Vega. This is 2 different German bands that came together to cover this song (Giant Rooks & Annenmaykantereit) The first setting is all the members of the Annenmaykantereit band, including Fred Rabe, lead singer of Giant Rooks (He is the first singer) When they enter the next room, they are now featuring all of the members of Giant Rooks, including Henning May, lead singer of Annenmaykantereit (Raspy voice) then all the members of Annenmaytkantereit join in this room, as well, to finsh up the song. Two amazing groups that should be checked out individually if it wasn't for this song I probably would have never known about either one of them and now I am totally in to Giant Rooks aaaaaand their coming to the US in December and I'm going!!
The guys in the first room are AnnenMayKantereit Chritsopher Annen, Hennig May, Severin Kantereit & Malte Huck + the Trumpeter Ferdinand Schwarz und then in the second room we have Giant Rooks with Frederik Rabe, Finn Schwieters, Finn Thomas, Johann Wischniowski & Luca Göttner. They filmed this after a concert of AnnenMayKantereit, where Giant Rooks was the opening act. Please check them both out. They are so amazing artist. 😊
I love Annenmaykantereit. I've been listening to their original songs way before this cover went viral. They are amazing. Btw both Annenmaykantereit and Giant Rooks are bands :) Henning May from Annenmaykantereit is the one with the deep "Louis Armstrong" voice. So it's actually his bands channel who uploaded the cover. Their original songs and their other covers are def worth listening to. Giant rooks also have great songs and pretty good covers:)
I’ve been obsessed with AMK for a couple of years, saw Giant Rooks live.. his voice still gives me goosebumps. I don’t even speak German, & find myself trying sing along all the time.
In the first room AnnenMayKantereit is playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mosty German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. And I love the music of Giant Rooks. My favorite song of them is Nightingales Of The Walled City, wich was never released. Here is the link to a live performance ua-cam.com/video/4u5pPzAq0i0/v-deo.html And then there is a cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie) only performed by Luca (guitar) and Frederik (vocals) and I love it: ua-cam.com/video/slIG7Aes7DM/v-deo.html
They did a cover of Roxanne in a similar fashion in collaboration with Milky Chance... You literally melt when he sings "you don't have to wear that dress tonight"...
The original song was Tom Steiner written and sung by Susan Vega. These guys stay true to the song yet put their own flavor in it and made it something very nice.
Please listen to the Song Barfuß am Klavier … this was the outcoming song in Germany of Annenmaykantereit… we all loved it ❤ its in german … its so beautiful.. please don’t forget how hart it is to become famous as musician in europe all over the world as specially for singer not singing in english … so give it a try, please .. you will not regret
This is the transition from original 80s analog equalizer every sound pruduced manually to 90s effects and digital transition loopers and beat drums. Then 80s joining back in on the vibe the last part was pure vibing. I grew up in the 80s then went full blast DJ in the 90s man. I felt that transition and sticking to the roots. we lost it come 2k, 2k1,& just degraded in 2k2.
Hannon May had to sing in the key that Fredrick from Giant Rook, and said it was difficult to sing in that key. You can not tell their was any issues in his performance. People are shocked when they hear that magnificent of how those 2 guys from two different band with different styles of singing. They sound great. Both bands are from Germany. The Giant Rook sings in both German and English. The Annen May K sing mostly German. They have several CD's of original music. Both bands were recording at the same studio in 2019. They mush have practice this collaboration to get it perfect. Which they did. Thanks to TicToc I was able to hear it for the first time. You can find both bands on UA-cam, including Tom's Diner.
Guys. The guy with the deep rusty voice is Henning May from AnnenMayKantereit. The other singer is Frederik Rabe from Giant Rooks. The musicians in the first room are Christoph Annen and Severin Kantereit from AnnenMayKantereit (and a bass player, and the guy with the horn.) In the second room where they finally come together are the members of Giant Rooks.
This is not just a cover of a 30+ year old song, the original was a cappella and became famous when it was sampled for a dance track. The original was the first mp3 recording ever.
Dudes, the guy with the deep voice is from AMK a German band, his name is Henning May, the other guy is from Giant Rooks. It's all on the internet. Really easy to find. And yes AMK is pretty big in Germany.
There are two bands. Room one is the band with the singer with the deep voice. The second room is faint rooks which is the band of the first singer faint rooks
It’s ok to google something ahead of time-lol Original = Suzanne Vega circa 1987. Both bands are well established German acts. Captain gravely voice actually has a pretty impressive range beyond that style he was on some Euro talent/vocal TV show. The shorter vocalist is a pretty amazing front man having watched some of their live videos…big stage energy. It’s amazing this cover blew up a few years after they did it. It’s definitely better than the original to me. Amazing talented young folks. ✌️
Can you imagine to listen more of AnnenMyKahnteright...if that helps... and Henning May ( pronounced My)...it might not need English. Pocahontas is an old classic and the Probersum Sessions are besutiful even though they started performing simply three friends on the streets of Cologne. He can strain his voice but even without it still sounds awesome.
I thought Henning May reminded me of Hewey Lewis..... and haven't heard much from him lately, or I haven't been watching. :) There's two bands, and I'm not sure how they are all interwined... AMK is three of them, and Three Rooks is Henny May and another, and I've seen him do a lot of solo. I've only started listening to them a few weeks ago and they are FUN to listen to... it's just crazy! FIRE! They're a German group and they're also really big in Russia and Turkey.
Giant Rooks is NOT the guy with the lowest voice. That’s Hemming May. Giant Rook is the other guy, Federik Rabe, with the higher voice. Hemming is the May in AnnenMAYKantereit. ❤
Three seconds of research you could find the original artist, aside from that, I love watching people’s reactions to amazing talent and enjoyed you reacting to your friends reaction 😉
I recently discovered this song and I love the way they reacted, and, though I personally prefer the original Suzanne Vega version, this cover really is amazing
Hi.. Normal they singing in german.. Can Sound great.... Try,, Null positive - wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer "(about war).... Or.." Jennifer Rostock - Tauben aus Porzellan.. "..... (Jennifer Rostock - Hengstin).. Is for women, to be strong and proud.... Enjoy
Henning May's from AMK is the lead singer, the guy with the septacular voice. Had to sing in the same key as Fredrick from Giant Rooks. Room I was AnneMayKanteriet, the second room was Giant Rook. As the song progress the AMK group filered in, that's why the 2nd room became full of musians.
Dudes, you are missing out BIGTIME. Because its the contrast to the almost most boring voice ever in the original from Susann Vega who made this so excellent.
Henning May is the singer with the deep voice. The name of the band is a combination of the names of the members of the band AnneMAYkanterheit. The Giant Rooks are the other band. I love both of them. 😊

100% agree. They're so good
They are well known also in Turkey May is called "damar reis".
„Finally got more recognition“ are you serious? They are one of the best selling and known bands
Literally dont care. He doesnt know u . U prob dont know him.
@@trixzify in Germany, Not The world
You have it backwards. Hemming May from AnnenMayKantereit is the gentlemen with the deep bass voice, the other singer is Frederik Rabe from Giant Rooks. Part of both of each band is playing in the rooms while they sing.
Both bands are complete in this video. In room one AnnenMayKantereit, in room two Giant Rooks. Oh, and his name is Henning.
One of the best collaborations between two bands!!!!
I love the genuine reaction of you showing your friend something you really enjoy for the first time. The way you look over at him after every line is amazing, good vid Caleb

Good pipes in both . I wish the Horn was more pronounced at the end
I love how each singer plays and compliments each other
Frederik Rabe of Giant Rooks is nothing to sneeze at.
"What?" - "Dude I knooow!" literally everybody's first reaction to henning's voice :D

NOPE. Giant Rooks IS NOT the guy with super bassy voice. It is Henning May, from the band AnnenMayKantereit !!!
Idk whose voice I like more. You got the first dude who has this soulful yodel. Then you got this one dude who is eating gravel. But they mesh so well
Never can get tired of this version. Chills for the billionth time❤❤❤
Henning may from AnnenMayKantereit is the guy with the super basey voice*
In the first room AnnenMayKantereit is playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. I totally agree with that part of the song! It's just amazing!
you definitely should react to more annenmaykantereit and giant rooks! they are so good
The gut with the deep voice is Henny May of AMS. The other guy with the light brown hair is Frederick from Giant Rooks
The original song was Tom Steiner written and sung by Susan Vega. These guys stay true to the song yet put their own flavor in it and made it something very nice.
😊
Giantrooks is the guy without the base in his voice.

I love this singer with the deep voice
4:28 you got that wrong, not Giant Rooks
It's like just a bunch of friends jamming together from two successful bands, and they were like, dude we should record this lol
This is the transition from original 80s analog equalizer every sound pruduced manually to 90s effects and digital transition loopers and beat drums. React to Annenmaykantereits cover of Cant Get You Out Of My Head. I think you and your friend will really enjoy it.
Original Artist is Suzanne Vega and she wrote the Song in the early 80s, I believe it was in 1981 and it's been released in 1987,
Giant Rooks is a separate band. They came together.
That's two bands that said I can sing it better than you, and they said let's do it together. Straight f****** fire family 👍💪
The guy with the deep voice is the leadsinger from annenmeikantereit!
There are two bands. Room one is the band with the singer with the deep voice. The second room is faint rooks which is the band of the first singer faint rooks

I love you guys reaction, terrific break down ❤
The host has exactly same as my reaction. Falling in love with this band...
It's 2 different bands doing this one cover together

The origami Tom's Dinner was written and recorded by Susan Vega
the original is from Suzanne Vega (released 1987)
Just based on this version of the song they should now own the rights by default. They owned this song. Keep this sort of stuff up
Its like soccer or football (the beautidoul game).. brings us all together.
Can you imagine to listen more of AnnenMyKahnteright...if that helps... and Henning May ( pronounced My)...it might not need English. Giant rooks is one band. Henning May is the guy with the big voice. Annamaykantereit is the other band.
You should see annenmaykantereit version of the police's "Roxanne"
Annenmaykanterit is the one with deep voice
Both are bands and not single artists and both have some great other songs you should listen to 🙋♂️
The movie would be: "Begin again" with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo ;)
you should check out "Can't get you out of my head", another amazing cover by AnnenMayKantereit feat. Parcels :)

The dude with the low voice isn‘t Giant rooks
Annenmaykantereit pronounced mai as month is in German
Henning from AMK has raspy vox
Was he talking about ‘A star is born’?
What movie is the other guy talking about in the end?
