I like how this went from Whitehead's good intention to the same at the end but more informed. All that trickery like marketing had to happen and be seen, but if a good generalization isn't realized because culture power is too much, then besides information the internet is good for allowing one to be removed from the fierce grip of this cultural inertia. My generalization of the economy is that there's a national money pool which goes from one to many and back, and the transactions are taxed as the life blood of the country entity. To oversee the complexification of this pool would take a very top heavy admin so first it went to companies and then social welfare because the power of the organized group was a threat to the government I think, but first the monarchy. The language of trade persevered because the cost of the information highway was built in, while armies and churches were very expensive. Plus, the complexity of the interactions would be curtailed, not less to tax, but another generalization is needed that would lead to a new model where easy grabbing is seen as reducing complex interaction possibilities. Game theory, altruistic groups prevail over selfish groups but selfish members in an altruistic group gain advantage, that sort of thing. Thanks for the show!
Evolution cannot occur without mutations to question the norm. I just fact checked this statement; natural and sexual selection, genetic drift, migration, and gene flow are also components in evolution... so... metaphorically true.
